I’m not anti-vaccination, but I find it highly concerning that this hasn’t even been around long and there is simply not enough time to adequately test long term effects. For me, this one is a hard pass. I need time to make an informed decision, not a rush to see who is first at my family’s expense.

Dr. Buck, thanks for the video! I know you can't provide individual or specific advice, but generally speaking...THEN with all you've said, how do you feel about people under Age 50 rushing to get this experinental vaccine, especially if in good health and/or no major underlying health conditions? Did YOU get the vaccine? If not, then when are YOU getting the injection? Are YOU recommending it to your healthy patients under Age 65 or younger? I'll be waiting for your reply! Thanks in advance. Happy New Year!! 2020 has been bizarre...

Great video, thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's going to be hard to trust any pharmaceutical or medical device company which is going to come out with a product to mitigate the effect of this infection when their primary goal is to make money and beat others to the punch. Add to that the lack of transparency in performing such studies and no consequences for ill effects on volunteer subjects, the trust factor will be slim. Any physician hearing a 90% success rate from anything in medicine will likely have their antennas go up. But I think for a company like Pfizer it's a good PR number to lead with. With such a high rate of asymptomatic patients to begin with I don't think they'll have any trouble fudging the numbers to back up their marketing campaign. Pfizer's unethical practices regarding Neurontin and their direct-to-consumer marketing of Z-pack and still-dubious Lipitor claims are part of their history.

It has been rushed, and since then two new variants have magically appeared, and now the need for boosters, and more vaccines. It has definitely been a political issue which always and this has further cast concerns on the validity of the stats. People fully vaccinated, but the have pneumonia, but then they tested for COVID and then they are included in the COVID count, and then another who had pneumonia, but the pneumonia wasn't treated with antibiotic and that person died, but he was listed as a COVID death. That's a problem with trust issues.

Free choice should be informed and that's what is grossly lacking. I told someone at start of all this, "you have the right to set yourself on fire as well...but I'd try and stop you." Then I informed this person about some things they weren't aware of: the vaccine makers, components, the agenda behind the vaccine, serious sickness and side effects unto death by recipients. You know, all the things that's being covered up, just that. This person changed their mind being able to make a more informed choice.

Doc i'm loving the revamp but sorely missing the cursing and jocularity from older videos. Joking aside, and alongside the mortality rate of covid- rolling out a vaccine to relieve healthcare systems around the world to deal with cancer, elective surgery, CVD etc would be an overwhelming benefit. Additionally, the mental health toll of social distancing, isolation and lockdowns need the rapid response resolution an efficient vaccine would facilitate. Aside from this, I think it's clear, not just from this comments section, but on the web and on social media, there's a palpable obstacle to taking vaccines as this vacuous anti-vax movement seems to have really taken hold of so many people. It's possible that the success of this vaccine could and hopefully does shift the momentum back towards a generally pro-vaccine position- to countenance so much of the hysteria and sensationalism around such a vital preventative, evidence based intervention that reaches out across all age groups around the world, saving so many lives over the years.

@@drbuckparker I caught the virus in April and I still have antibodies. I donate my convalescent plasma for research. I think the reason I still have antibodies is because I get exposed to the virus over and over again. I work on a COVID Amber ward. Meaning suspected COVID patients awaiting swab results. I’m not sure if I need to take the vaccine or not.

Then its the economy and the thousands that will commit suicide because of the economy collapsing and unable to provide. This is a problem we will see for years to come and the best thing to do is to educate people with the facts.

I get so many side effects from medications...I am scared to death to get a vaccine that hasn’t truly been tested. But at the same time...I don’t want too die from coronavirus. I don’t know what to do.

Sounds like my wife talking. Its not a live virus. That being said side effects may be higher than normal. As a health care worker ive likely been exposed already. If you are worried increase your vit d3 and c intake. Additionally pay attention to those you know taking the vaccine. And lastly ask your specialist doctor for advice. Once a vaccine is available at my hospital in canada in several weeks im taking it.

Yes, of course I would. I would take the Moderna vaccine. Moderna has been testing that for *ten* months now. It's an mRNA vaccine that only encodes the spike protein so there is no possibility of being infected by it. The Moderna vaccine is brilliant but Moderna is a small company. The Pfizer vaccine is more primitive but the company is huge so all the focus is on them.

When someone says protects from from the symptoms and not from the virus I hear "individual immunity" instead of the "herd immunity". I.e protects from undesirable side effects of the virus for the individual but doesnt prevent transmission as a whole and offers limited benefit to the population. On a side note, your epigenetics have alot to do with how you as an individual respond to a vaccine, and many people respond differently, which conflicts with a public policy narrative. Ps. Pharma just opened a new epigenetics branch with University of Texas for their HPV vaccine, seems like they are unto something.
