ViolentScorl most clone deserters seemed to have no interest in the war in general but didn't wish harm for their fellow clones and wouldn't have shared intel to the CIS. Lower ranking clones would've been more likely to desert as well meaning they'd have less access to the Republic's secrets. Republic Intelligence would also be better off focusing on the CIS and identifying their source of intel and sending a team if it's a clone rather than attempting to track down every single clone that has ever gone missing to verify if they're alive and deserted.

I would say the Galactic Marines but I wouldn’t want to deal with Baccara so probably 501st, 212th, or 332nd.

Despite how haunting, and sad it is for these clones to exist, I would absolutely love to see more info about these clones. Hopefully we’ll see more of them once The Bad Batch series rolls around.

This kind of unit sounds like it would have been perfect for Dogma, he was so by the book and didn’t hesitate to be in charge of the execution of two of his brothers, and also didn’t hesitate to shoot Krell when he had the chance.

I love how their armour is made so they are stealth, i wish it was on a star wars game like battlefront 2

After watching the Bad Batch’s midseason finale, I think we’ve finally gotten the Covert Ops Troopers in Star Wars media

Great vid.

Im glad i watched this video today, showing us alot of hidden stuff palapatine kept secretly to himself

It would be cool seeing a game in which your a clone that deserted in one of the many battles (insert interesting backstory on why HERE), and your trying to survive/kill the covert ops troopers.

Bright pink armour that helps them do stealth missions...ahhh I love this stuff man

In the past, I've seen things in Star Wars that flat-out sounded like something out of Warhammer 40K. But this takes the cake!

Their armor is my favorite out of the various clone uniforms

I can understand executing specific types of deserters depending on the circumstances. If a deserter has the possibility of aiding an enemy (either by deliberately joining the enemy or being captured by the enemy and forced to give out information) I can see why executing them would be preferable. On the other hand, in a situation like with Cut Lawquane I don't see any reason why they should execute him. Especially seeing that actually going out of the way to execute him would actually cost more resources than just simply leaving him to his own devices. I could understand punishing clones for something like "desertion" if they made said punishment well known as a form of deterrence, but if they make it a secret then it's just a pointless waste of resources that could go towards helping the war effort in a different way.

I’m excited for the republic commando play through

This is why I think that if they made another Republic Commando game, Covert Operations clones would make excellent antagonists. I think I posted somewhere else my idea for such a game, but just to recap, the general gist of it would be a squad of Alpha-class ARC troopers who are dispatched alongside their Jedi officer during the final months of the Clone Wars to try to hunt down Darth Sidious after the incident with Fives and the discovery that Darth Tyrannous and Dooku are the same person. During their mission, they discover that there is indeed a conspiracy manipulating both the Republic and the Separatists towards war. However, before they can learn more, they're ambushed by Covert Ops clones, of which the ARCs narrowly escape, though their Jedi commander is killed. Branded traitors and deserters, the ARCs have no choice but to try to uncover this conspiracy, all the while being hunted by the Covert Ops troopers. At the same time, the Jedi, learning of the ARCs' alleged defection, and sensing that something strange is afoot, dispatch a squad of Clone Commandos to track down and capture the ARCs. The game thus having two protagonists, one of which is the leader of the ARC squad and the other leader of the Commando squad.

Would Clone Troopers ever legitimately retire? Medically or otherwise.

Pretty sure these guys were the Republic's equivalent to OGA (Other Government Agency, Typically refers to the FBI or CIA) in the US or FSB Alpha Group in Russia. It would make sense if they were a government agency set apart from the military with restricted congressional oversight seeing the kind of operations they carried out. These guys remind me of the Battlefield 3 missions where you play as the Russian guys.

These predatory clones need to appear in the new series The Bad Batch would be a perfect fit

Honestly the American military has some of these too, usually it isn't a lethal engagement and they are just sent to receive a court martial, but if a soldier smuggled out weapons and shows signs of anti-American things, they will be terminated

It would make sense if it turns out Covert Ops clones were transitioned into the Clone X assassin's seen in the Badbatch.

I don’t think that killing clone deserter is very effective. Instead, the covert ops clones should stun and capture the deserters because the deserters would be given a chance to explain themselves and the clone commanders can determine whether he willingly deserted or was simply left behind or got lost in battle. And if they were left behind, they should be able to rejoin the GAR without any serious punishment. Desertion is a serious crime and offense and clones that desert their post deserve to be punished for their transgressions against the GAR.

Shame they aren't canon, it would've been interesting to see the Clones' reactions when they found out about Covert Ops. I know the 501st and the 212th would've had... issues with them, given the events of Umbara.

I’m kinda surprised that the covert ops troopers are clones and not just well payed regular human volunteers who maybe didn’t like clones all that much to begin with

Orion The Raptor do you honestly think an ordinary volunteer would usually get the upper hand on people literally bred for war and trained since their birth? You couldn’t train a simple citizen well enough in the short time they had to keep up with the most elite army the galaxy has ever seen.
