the way ya’ll talk about a woman with addiction problems says a lot more about you than her lol, no need for some of these comments, “brain damage” acting as if if Kurt was still alive he wouldn’t look and act the same after years of drug abuse. “murderer” yall act if you were best pals with Kurt and know him at heart, it’s been what, 30 years? you’ll never fully know what happened to him so quit acting like he was ur best mate and get a life lol.

This "wrestling" story is so bizarre ! Kurt was a gentleman, at best he could have said "fuck off" to her but wrestling ?? She said Something about Kurt's former girlfriend and that's the reason why Kurt did wrestle her. That's a very logical and normal behaviour, of course, I wrestle with women in bars all the time. The last one said that she liked Guinness and that belgium beer was shit; BAM, wrestling !! Normal !

This reminds me of when someone is on Lithium for Bipolar Disorder which many people in recovery are diagnosed with. It cause people to slur their words and be sleepy-like but that is usually when the doc hasn't leveled things out yet. This is a woman trying her best to get it together and remain professional in her artistic profession and being very raw and vulnerable and I really hope people can realize this and appreciate it. People say "get sober, get help" and sometimes this is what it looks like.

My favorite part is when he asks her....."Your a stable person?"....HAHAHAHA..The look on face is priceless!!!

The interviewer's demeanor makes me think he is intimidated or unsure of how to handle Courtney, and Courtney picked up on that immediately. Courtney seems annoyed that someone much younger than she, having not done his research on her career, is asking her questions in a judgmental tone, like a prosecutor. "You're a stable person?" People, if you want someone to open up about personal things with you, make them feel special. Talk to them like you actually want to hear what they have to say. Make them feel like a person and not someone on trial.

This interviewer was pinning a narrative about her onto her from the outset, which is why this was so awkward, doubled with the fact that he'd caught her on a bad day. I remember she did Howard Stern this same morning, and was telling him she'd been up all night crying because she'd broken up with the guy she was dating at the time.

Fun fact if you speed up the video the interview plays out in normal human dialogue

I love her being that way, make the interviewer ask questions. She's very blunt which is great.

All of us "grungers" or "alt" ppl from that era, have aged. But, I think she has a certain "je ne sais pas quoi." Especially in her younger days. I'm being realistic here, I'm in the same boat. The same with Kurt. That sort of punk rock "shimmer and rott" at the same time mystic.

When Kurt’s passing was discussed she mentioned stomach pains . I saw an interview with Kurt when he said he felt cured of that illness . She said she was always in control . Then later on in the interview when asked about a particular period around Kurt’s death she said she couldn’t remember because she was on drugs . Very convenient I thought . Such a toxic case , concerning Kurt . We just don’t know what to believe .

I’ve learned to dislike this guy since the whole loss of Prince. This confirms it! It’s not an awkward interview. She’s just not responding to inane questions. I like it.

That was a difficult and very good interview by both of them. It transcended celebrity culture to examine things and ideas that affect many people. Hats off.

13:54 She claims to know the exact day he died and know precisely where she was and that the cops came up to her room and arrested her at the Peninsula Hotel. That's because she staged that arrest so that she would have an alibi. Her attorney at the time, Rosemary Carroll found a note in a bag Courtney left at her house that said "Get arrested" it was sort of a checklist note as if it were things she was actually planning to do. And sure enough, on April 7th, the day before Kurt's body was found, she got herself arrested and she had her air-tight alibi.

Fast forward 2 years later, after Nevermind came out, Kurt was worth millions and was being called the voice of a generation. And he was about to end the marriage and leave that miserable bitch. This was right before her new album was about to drop and Kurt was the biggest rock star in the world at the time. Being severed from all the success and riches that Nirvana was bringing in would have devastated her career. After his death, every magazine and radio show in the world wanted to talk to her. From Barbara Walters to Howard Stern. Everybody was talking about the tragic rock-n-roll widow of the tortured poet, Kurt Cobain. And of course, the album became an instant legend, having been released the month after Kurt's death.

In one of her earlier interviews with Barbara Walters, Courtney said that after her pregnancy she stayed clean from drugs, and insisted that she doesn't do them anymore, and that it was only Kurt who used. But then, when this interviewer asks her about how she mourned Kurt's death at the time, she says she's been too doped up to remember. A lie. She also conveniently leaft out the fact that after Kurt's death she went on tour where she simulated Kurt's death on stage (talked about in the Barbara interview) multiple times.

I thought the idea of taking a mudslinging piece of hearsay as serious was silly -- but Einstein has said that stupidity is infinite. Well then let's trust a lawyer that has probably some personal agenda, a clueless "investigator" and a father whose influence and quality was probably 50% of the inspiration for the anger of Pretty on the inside (the other half being her mother). Her only big mistake was allowing that producer to fuck with the lineup, the sound and ultimately the band itself on Celebrity Skin.

Well some of that mud seems pretty hard to wipe off, including the practice-handwriting samples found in Love's backpack, the fact that Cobain was going to divorce her and her fan-base would disappear, Courtney caught lying by the very investigator who was working for her, etc. "let's trust a lawyer that probably has some personal agenda"---so when Courtney & Kurt's own entertainment lawyer is caught on tape suspecting Courtney, you assume it must be some nebulous "personal agenda" (which you don't describe or explain, just speculate on)? And if _Soaked in Bleach_ was such mud-slinging, why hasn't Courtney taken Tom Grant to court? Because she can't challenge the facts he presents, and would rather have it just blow over. Sadder Than You Exactly. She frequently gets caught in print or video, in lies or contradiction. She said so very much in this interview. Ppl mistakenly see her as a victim or tragic and she knows it and uses it to her advantage. Contrary to most opinions, I don’t think she’s high here. I think she’s revealing too much of her natural self that ppl aren’t used to seeing. She knows this guy is a fan, ppl think he was being rude, but she knows she doesn’t have to win him over and could care less. Her ire for Kurt and the hero worshipping of him is annoying to her and even kissing her off. However she can’t act upon it bc she knows how badly she’ll come off.

I’m all for advocating for awkward people, and those misunderstood overall. But I’ve read this book, and Courtney is not a super intelligent misunderstood person. After using substances and partying for so many years it begins to take a permanent toll on the body both physically and psychologically. Don't be so quick to judge a book by its cover or jump to conclusions. So she actually may be sober for all we know. Oh and by the way if controlled substances are taken as perscribed you shouldn't experience euphoria because the the body would be use to that substance being consumed in the same amount, daily. Benzos on the other hand are usually perscribed on an as needed basis their fore they could possibly cause some euphoria depending on how much that individual is taking those benzos.

Yikes.. awkward. But for anyone saying she's on shit, the woman has no filter and clearly said she's sober. She started the interview saying she hadn't slept at all. Didn't say how long it had been either since she did sleep. I have terrible sleep disorders that keep me awake too, and I can relate to this interview. Show up and do what needs to be done, and then crash.... everybody leave me the fuck alone. She's exhausted. She's not on drugs or coming down from them. She's manic from no sleep. This is me, more often than I'd care to admit.

Why is it that when a man becomes successful, he is praised, yet when a woman becomes successful, everyone thinks that a man must have had a hand it??? I ADORE this woman, and all that she stands for. She gives kids who come from shitty backgrounds, and bad circumstances, hope. People HATE the fact that she wanted something, and took it. If I knew I had a personal interview and the world had a harsh view of me, I wouldn't sleep the night before either... she seems like any normal woman who didn't sleep the entire night and is tired. Maybe she's a bit down, but look at what she's had to deal with... hard to stay positive with how rude the interviewer is being and how the world has treated her.

I love her. She is no bs, no kissing up to anyone, no lowering herself to fit with other people, no trying to come off as something she is not, just speaking her mind and stuff. All of us go through things and music at times helps people define, relate and release emotions that are hard to come out. Courtney bares her emotions and pain in her music. I’m truly sorry for your loss. But I respectfully disagree that as an absolute statement that “widows are blamed more than widowers of suicide”, I think CL has a very good and personal point. Obviously there are exceptions to every blanket statement. I’m sure there are more examples, but Joan Rivers spent years making a come back in her career due to her husbands suicide. And at that time many people in the press (and for a moment, even her own daughter), blamed her. 24 years ago a close relative of mine killed himself and the ones closest to him at that time were initially comforted, as time has passed, they’ve all been criticized to some extent for “allowing” him, or “pushing” him, or “not caring enough” for him. It’s sick and twisted, but sadly it does happen. Take solace in your own experience, and less presumptive of others.

No offense, (i know time to get ready 2b offended) but you're not famous. She's speaking about a public who idolized her husband (whom was not her longest relationship, though only marriage from what i know) who tragically killed himself. I hope you are well. Im that guy too.
