Hey Neal. Another great Courtney reaction. This is truly a spectacular song. What Courtney does with this when she fully cuts loose just shows there is no one on the planet that can compare to her vocally. The funny thing is, we almost never got to hear this. We were on a live chat with Courtney and a number of people were asking her to sing 'Love Hurts'. That's when Courtney responded that she had already recorded it. You heard on the video that she recorded it nearly two years ago and went to her laptop to try and dig it up. Fortunately for us she was able to find it and we were able to hear this masterpiece. After Courtney played it, there were a few OMG's, but mostly stunned silence over what we had just heard. It was truly an incredible moment, followed by universal requests for Courtney to play it again, which she did. Bear in mind that this was played off of a laptop, broadcast over a live chat via a cell phone and recorded on the receiving end by another cell phone. If it sounds this spectacular in that way, how unimaginable must the original digital studio version be. No one could have put out this performance other than Courtney, not even close, and she was 14 at the time.

What happens when one of my favorite reactors reviews my favorite Courtney tune to date? EXACTLY THIS! Great job! What is mind-boggling, is that she was about 14/15 years old when she recorded this song. Like you, I didn't care for the "tinny" sound that one hears because she's playing that tune, which she recorded in a Swedish studio, through her lap top. I also didn't care too much about the instrumental part of the song. But . . . BUT . . . I feel those are the best vocals she's laid down from all of the songs I've ever heard her sing. This was recorded in Sweden in early 2019 when she took a course in songwriting and did some studio music to her album. Where the Swedish singer Miss Li (Linda Therese Karlsson) took care of her. It's a cover of her song. It should be remembered that she plays this from her laptop picks up the sound to her mobile which then we listen to. We are many Courtney fans who tried to get her to release the studio version. But without results, but it may be due to copy rights.

You will love Courtney'd sit down version of a portion of " I See Red " such maturity! She will one day "own" it - even tho it must be said there are so many beautiful covers out there - but when Courtney has her way we won't that we are listening to it for the very first time - done properly. Abd that is not to take anything at all away from the multitude of talebted singers.

This song by Courtney is a true hidden gem that we may never hear in high quality. For this to have been done a couple of years ago is insane simply based on her age when she laid down this track. We could argue until forever what constitutes a unique voice. If you look at the female artists in her age group (I won't name names), Courtney many times takes a back seat to the others from many people. Personally I don't understand it. I really feel there simply is nothing like her in her age group, or even older for that matter. It's subjective for sure. I'm not even comparing performing/stage presence because that would not be fair to the others. I think many hear other more "angelic" voices as better. Thing is, her voice is so complex that angelic is floating around with the rasp and the raw and the power etc. I have tried to convince myself that maybe these other singers are better than Courtney and that I'm too much of a fanboy (or should I say fangrandpa based on her age and mine). But I can't, I simply can't. For me she is that much better than the others. You keep on listening to Courtney you're gonna need a new couch.

Janathan, you pretty much nailed it about those listeners today. Personal I think it's more about what your brought up to listen to in your time period of youth that determines who thinks what. But many kids today who have parents and grand parents from the good olds days of music love out music and love Courtney because of it. As Courtney has said when they hear old school rock they think of how much fun it is to move to the music and watch artists perform on stage at concerts. @@JohnSmith-vb6jx I'm happy some are getting to use it. Everytime I see a comment that requests a reaction to "Love Hurts" I wish I had time to sync it up to the original video. I almost cringe when I think of how some reactor will not be able to ignore the tiny sound from the laptop speakers. But most reactors get past it and still appreciate Courtney's insane performance in that one. Every once in a while I do notice someone complaining about the sound quality though. I was thinking about just seeing if I could combine the audio remix with just a picture or pictures flashing by of her. I'm not sure how my voice canceler will do the job on the original audio to overlay the remix and then sync it. It's been so long since I've used it. I know it's gonna take me a few days to set up and get into it again, which right now is not a good time for me. But if anyone else has the knowledge and program to sync them together I'll send them a download audio file in a wav. format if they are willing to try and splice them together.

@@bertpainter8385 Actually it is just good for the sound quality alone. Sometimes the video can destract from what she is doing vocally if she is not performing, at least for me. I would like to hear this without the electronic mix on the track. Just horns, percussion and guitar. I think it would be much more palatable, musically, IMO. When I listen to Courtney just on a music track and forget how old she is I can appreciate what she does even more sometimes.

Very apt description, Jonathan, to point out that Courtney's voice is so complex--"angelic" at times, but so much more!

I think this is her best cover of all times, which is something when you have already seen so many phenomenal ones. Her range, her stunning vocals. This is one of the all time best.

I have a little bit of a Courtney Hadwin reaction video addiction because of exactly what you wrote. I feel like every time anyone hears this girl sing, she sets his or her brain cells on fire. You can see a lot of bored reaction posters going through the motion and then this girl starts belting out notes and they go legit crazy. And you have to be *dead inside* not to.

She is so talented. And her voice is incredible!

This was recorded early on when Courtney was working with Miss Li a well known Swedish singer, this was her big hit very popular in Europe. At the time it was said Courtney would come in and record knockout versions of covers right off the top. Who knows what they have squirrel ed away. Why this was not released is beyond me.

@@bertpainter8385 I don't get the thinking. Janis Joplin sang almost all covers. Elvis started with covers like Hound dog. The Stones had many covers particularly on their first albums.- Courtney said Pretty Little Thing was not released because it sounded too ' pop-y' ' she had worked with Max Martin on it!.. . - well, I understand Michael Jackson did his album Thriller and did not like the first mixing and got together with Quincy Jones to redo it before its release, reportedly spending about one week per song. Lets hope Courtney has her own Quincy Jones.

@@dabouras Funny you replied to me here. I was just typing a reply on Joo's reaction to this on his video with basically the same reply I made here because I thought maybe you missed this reply. I don't know why people make decisions they do. I guess each of us have our own reasonings. I understood the initial thought about not wanted to release a cover song at 1st for someone new and recording all the originals she was working on back then. But later on or even now it could have been release. I can only guess there's things we have no clue about that go on. Anyone doing there jobs at that level everyday would most like know exactly what they need to do and why. So who are we to say, I guess. But I would love to know the answer of why not release it. I hope it's because they have a bigger plan in place. I'd also love to hear what else she has on that laptop file of her recorded studio songs she did in the past while in Sweden and London. I wouldn't be surprised if there's 20 songs give or take.

When this video chat 1st started she was playing them in the background and not telling us early on that they were her newsongs she was writing and recording with Kevin. But as we all started to notice it was her voice behind the music we didn't recognize, we all started to ask her and made comments that she was sneaking her new songs in so we could hear them. I not sure what you're referring to about the TikToc challenge. Unless you thought that's what I was talking about. If you haven't already, listen to that link I set it right at where she starts to play the new songs she recorded. @@haldoomo6752 Yes I visit her TikToc often and used to post their a bunch, but been limited to where I have time for a bit. Anyway, I really think she doing great on TikToc with followers. She has over a 1/4 of a million followers. Not too bad for someone who used to spend most of her time on Instagram, which I think she should get back to. She has about a half million there. These platforms are going to important once she releases her music, and the more she does the better to me. Even if it's only a quick snippets like she's been doing lately, it keeps fans looking for more everyday. Anyway, if you don't have a listen to that link, you'll be missing out big. Those are some great sounding cuts. And a new side to her style to me.

Just wanted to clear up the copyright reference. I did hear the video where this was mentioned by a reactor who was misinformed. Courtney said this herself in the live chat when she let us all hear this from her laptop. She said "That they were going to release it, but decided that her 1st release should not be a cover". At that time that's how the felt even though later they did release all covers with her "Cover Sessions" EP. She then when on to say they should have released it. Miss Li, who is the person who did this song, asked her to sing this vocal track on her pre-recorded tracks without Miss Li's vocal on it and using Courtney's instead. She gave Courtney permission to do this cover of her song, Courtney said. So this not getting release had NOTHING to do with any Copyright infringements. It was fully given to her to do so by Miss Li and her people.
