When I first saw this girl I was completely shocked. The first thought that came to my mind was Janis Joplin. Yet she was so shy, before and after her performance. Never apologize for your tears, it just shows that you're a real man with a heart of gold and a heavenly soul who feels deeply. Being a father yourself, probably just adds to all of that.. Thanks Lb, I can always count on you to keep it real.

I love how much heart you have! You had me tearing up too. This girl is a phenomenon. I f James Brown and Janis Joplin had a daughter... What a voice. And she does*not* hold back! How on Earth does a painfully shy 13 year old from a tiny British village know how to work the stage like that? It's so clearly natural, she just came alive and tore the place up! Apparently she has a record deal (like Simon's going to let someone like her get away!). Courtney Hadwin - I'm going to remember that name. The minute anything of hers comes out, I'm buying it.

    P. S. I've been following this girl since June 12th. Lot of false info about her on the net since the beginning..... Her dad is a night watchman, not unemployed.... She never 'sang on the streets' (called busking in England) She sang in different contests, venues, and the voice kids UK. She was 12 on the voice btw. She was TERRIFIED of getting a red buzzer on AGT. She barely got on the voice when one of the judges (Danny Jones) turned his chair at the last second of her audition (Nutbush City Limits). I encourage you to check out that performance as well as I Feel Good (James Brown cover) and I'm Telling You from the voice. That is also why she came to America because all her favorite singers are American (Tina Turner, JB, Janis joplin, Etta James, etc.) All her performances are great, but this one was a genuine phenomenon👍

Mike Christopher, I've heard a lot of those rumors. One girl was bashing her for supposedly singing on the streets (as if that made her trash or something) and my response to that was SO? A lot of people have performed on the streets. Not a damned thing wrong with it. I knew she was terrified of getting the red buzzer. It takes a LOT for her to initially get up on the stage. She suffers from stage fright. But so did Prince, Michael Jackson, David Bowie and plenty of others. Adele gets the same way. It's not an act. It's simply her being her. I checked out her other performances. She was good and is only getting better. And yes, THIS one was truly phenomenal.

I frequently re-watch this reaction video because it takes me back to when I first saw this AGT video, and was introduced to Courtney for the first time. If I had a video of my reaction then, and played it side by side with this video, one would think we were trying to stay in sync. I completely broke down at the EXACT same time, too, when Courtney jumped into her daddy's arms. And I also almost cried when she dropped on her knees at the end. It was was just beautiful. I became an instant Courtney Hadwin fan! And this reaction video reminds me of exactly why I did. Great reaction that I can still relate to!

I get emotional and feel so happy for her no matter how often I see that performance. In my opinion she's born to perform. Already a legend. Everytime she came back on stage she became even better. She's feeling it, man. And seeing you reacting the same way I did is so cool. That's what a great performer is all about. Not just being entertaining but also let the audience feel emotions. It is the pinnacle of this young life (regardless of what preceded) and sort of birth, birth of a true artist, birth of dream, a revelation of identity, the birth of a rockstar (seemingly delivered by the souls of all the past rock gods), an example of what it means to be human. Perfect audition: Shy unassuming start - curious pause before music starts - Odd body movement = what is she doing? - Then she hits afterburners and burns up the house. - Stunned audience and judges - quirky dance (not spastic like some said) - then Howie nails the connection to an epic period for songs - Golden buzzer - and she runs up to her dad for hugs. The whole audition could not have been better. Well, if you didn't get involved in maybe the best audition ever, you're just not getting it. Good honest reaction vid.

Thank God I was not the only men who let his tears go, when I was looking to the golden buzzer for Courteny Hadwin from Mandel she is really a great performer and rock singer. So shy when se was coming up, and when she starts singing she is free from her nerves. I live in The Netherlands in Europe I'm a big fan from Courteny I know that she is gonna sing on the 50th anniversary from Woodstock on August 16, 17 & 18 in Watkins Glen NY. And i bought 2 VIP tickets for all the 3 days I go there with my girlfriend who lives in Japan. I don't wanna miss it so I'll be there. Greetings René van Haarlem.
