This song was Toby's response to 9/11. Yes, we as Americans are the MOST patriotic, because we continually remember and recognize what it took for us to be a country, and become the great world leader we are. Without remembering the battles and the lives lost - there is no patriotism. God Bless America!❤️

Though too many are a bit too eager to gloss over or omit the darker sides of our history. It's a bit sad that people are still forcing us to put up with Columbus Day (As a Native American, I find that holiday offensive), and often downplaying things like November being Native American History month, yet falling all over themselves to celebrate every other cultural month.

  • @mygreywolf

@vladyvhv9579 Well we're down to 16 states and 1 territory that still celebrate Columbus Day. Hopefully that will end soon. How can someone found this country when we were never lost? Now October 9 is Indigenous Day and as you stated, November is Native American month. It pisses off me as well that no Americans pay tribute to us like they do Black History month particularly. Even the Asian-American/Pacific Islander Heritage month gets some attention. You'd think since we saved the Pilgrims from certain death that we'd get the most appreciation and recognition. The Navajo Code Talkers of WWII. My own great grandfather and his brother helped run the Underground Railroad. Then were murdered by white supremacists. Good ol' U.S. of A. trying to hide their dirty little secrets of how they obtained this land.

My own gene pool is about 80% percent British and Irish. Kinda seems like you might be one of us but your ancestors just didn't make it across the pond. US citizens are not different than the world because of their origin, they are different only In the way they think about the pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We are obviously very proud and defensive of that. Glad we found you.

May Toby Keith rest in peace, in the palm of God. His straight ahead no-apologies patriotism has been and will continue to be a positive influence for our military and all Americans and Brits. The messages Toby Keith gave us through his music and philanthropy live on. It's a sad time, especially for those in the military whom Toby supported, but to paraphrase General Patton, "We should thank God that such men lived." We must continue to pay tribute to Toby at the very least, by not apologizing for being patriots and vote. As a tribute, raise a red Solo cup for Toby along with your stars & stripes. God bless Toby's family and friends. May his memory be a blessing.

I appreciate your recognition of our spirit. There is so much to being an American. My Dad was born in Mexico and he and my mom emigrated to the US when he was 21 and she was 20. They became citizen and made a life for themselves, my sister and I. He passed away June 22nd at the age of 80. I'm the man I am because of him. I know, you know what I'm going thru right now and I thank you for doing reactions like this. He lived the best life he could and now he's passed that responsibility to me. If you ever feel down because Pops isn't around anymore, just remember the life he lived. That's how I get thru it. Keep up .the awesome job you are doing. Laita!

@ Patrick Williams it was actually the commandant of the Marine Corps (2002) who convinced Toby Keith to record the song and then release it to not only the public but so that US troops would have a way to listen to it when he is not there to sing it to help boost morale. Toby intended for the song to be only played for the military troops when he was doing free concerts for military troops serving in the war zones. All the little concerts you saw in this video were all free concerts Toby Keith did over in Iraq and Afghanistan for all troops weather they were us or another friendly country's troops and he paid to travel to those places out of his own pocket. He did it to help boost morale for the troops and to pay tribute to his father who served in Vietnam and died in March of 2001 from a car accident.

Brits can love the Fourth of July and America too. To be fair, many people who were involved in the revolution were British and still fought for what they believed even if it meant fighting their countrymen. George Washington was British and was even in the British army and served for years before he became the Commander in Chief for the new nation. A lot of my ancestors are from Britain and I like and respect the country even if I disagree with a lot of the laws. Happy 4th, neighbor from across the pond.

HALF PINT! Love your attempt to be patriotic. That is so awesome! I have British ancestry so maybe I could celebrate some British holidays? 2 of my great uncles served in WW2. Tom Dolan was a tank commander under General Patton and helped liberate a concentration camp. Jack (John) O'Sullivan flew with the Black Sheep Squadron. According to family legend he flew his corsair 300 miles with 2 Japanese zeros shooting at him with machine guns and he had no ammo to fire back at them. The Black Sheep Squadron had a TV show in the 1970s created around their unit (errm Not really sure that is the correct term..) called Baa Baa Black Sheep. I'm super miffed I can only thumbs up once.

I was pretty impressed by the Magna Carta, the whole British Empire thing and the Battle of Britian. The establishment of the American colonies and Australia was nifty. There are a lot of western societies that the Empire founded that the nasty types would be best to leave alone. Good to see you again. Keep up the fun.

Most of, if not all of, our "founding fathers" were British... basically. Although I think all were born here in North America, they were still British by being born under British rule. The fact that USA and UK became such "great friends" in the years after we became The US of A, is proof that we can all get along :P Same happened with Japan and the US. Japan sucker punched us pretty recently compared to the UK and we're friends with them too. Just because we like to think of ourselves as the big asskickers of the world doesn't mean we don't like other people ;) Oh right, this was a music reaction... my bad 😂 Enjoyed your reaction, as usual 😉 Toby Keith has a way about him that just makes you like him... and he's pretty darn patriotic as well.

This was written right after 9-11 happened. Now, we all love you no matter where you are from, or what happened in the past, but it was the British that brought about our armed citizens. It is so that we can protect ourselves from ANY tyrannical government, even our own. They know it and is why they want to restore t our guns. You see, in this country, the PEOPLE are the boss and the politicians are the employees. There are more armed citizens in the United States, than all the worlds militaries combined. This is why we have never been attacked on land. The people will stand up and protect our own You know, you can always move here. There are flights every day. You said you were born in the wrong country. You would though, have to get used to driving on the other side of the road....lol
