    Standard for some televised 70's tournaments. If it wasn't court level it was slightly higher than court not at the height it is now where no perspective of spin and height above net is given.

    Thanks so much for the videos! With no doubt tennis should be transmitted more often in this angles! It gives us a total different view of the game regarding players movement, tactics, speed and pace of the shots, why did the player make that shot and not a differente one... it´s great!

    actually it´s not the movement before or after the contact witch counts so much, its more the way and point of contact, just look at Gulbis

  • @allenrodgers1577

    @allenrodgers1577

    4 жыл бұрын

    misko misko I don’t understand what you mean in relation to my comment, I understand theoretically everything before and after the point of contact really doesn’t matter because the ball is on the string bed for a millisecond, and that Gulbis has unorthodox stroke mechanics (I’d also argue he’s the very reason why before and after does matter, because the point of technique is so you can replicate it) but what I’m saying is that Delpo looks like he is going to make contact late, but somehow he superhumanly accelerates through contact with his hips shoulders and wrist at the last possible millisecond and meets the ball out in front. It’s crazy.

  • @mantaiscool

    @mantaiscool

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@allenrodgers1577 one point considering the forehand of Delpo is surely his height, being 2 meters tall gives him a huge lever to generate a lot of power , so being almost late or actually late doesn´t effect him much

    Watch the slow mo...When fed returns he starts to move his feet a little and even moving into the court. He reads the serve is going into the middle and shift his weight and movement slightly that way. When Ishner fires the cannon, his eyes can pick it up as his body is moving into it and simply blocks it back.
