Seriously lol!! 😂😂we were at a carnival a few weeks ago and I had to continuously stop my 2.5 yo son from getting on the ground to put those huge cords in his mouth that run through the entire thing from ride to ride and everyone steps and spills and spits on. 🙃 boys are a different breed lol

It looks like pure misery from what I’ve seen and heard. All the screaming and interrupted sleep, no privacy or spontaneity and the running around after another human, the smelly nappies and mess, so chaotic and very unappealing. The stress is not good for your health. And how does it correlate with character building exactly??? Seems more like stress building. But if you’re fine with that type of lifestyle then you go for it. Some people prefer something more manageable and less chaotic, while others like to struggle and be worn out - because they probably don’t know any different.

Even though this is meant to be a comedy sketch, seeing the stress that parents go through make me never ever want to be one ever lol

Everyone says that to start with, but you aren't accounting for hormones. They tend to catch you unawares. I'd never felt maternal until I held my newborn Godson, and the same thing happened to my friend when she first held my son. I know one lady who never wanted children until she held a newborn and her own daughter was born nine months later to the day. I bet her husband never knew what hit him LOL.

@@cyflym11 Yeah, definitely not the case for everyone. From my own personal experience (I feel I should emphasize that since you used personal anecdotes for your comment) I feel terribly uncomfortable around babies, especially newborns. I find a lot of them kind of ugly, actually, though I can see why others would find them cute. I’ve never once enjoyed holding an infant. The exception may be when my little sibling was born, but I was two at the time and barely remember it so, who knows. Honestly, the world’s not looking too good at the moment, and pregnancy absolutely horrifies me in every way, and those are the two main reasons for not wanting children (and a reason to ignore any “hormones” popping up as you say). Babies aren’t gonna do a thing to change that.

If people could actually preview what their life will be like with kids, I'd bet plenty would decide against it. It's only rewarding if raising a family is your idea of success in life. If not, kids will feel like a constant burden, which is not only unfair to yourself, but unfair to them as well. Hormones and being in love with your partner tends to triggers the instinct to reproduce, which is a "survival of the species" mechanism, but it's important to look at things logically and ask yourself if you're really ready to give up 90% of your free time, energy, money, freedom, etc for the next 18 years.

We have 7 dogs. I swear it is like a daycare around here. Keeping dogs from bickering/fighting with each other, cleaning up messes coming from both ends, always asking "what's in your mouth?", the constant inside/outside game, etc.

This was SO accurate on both sides. I’m newly married with no kids, but seeing what my friends go through is enough to know this was spot on for all accounts😂

As a 30 year old having my very first child I actually can’t wait to see the difference so I can come back and laugh at this video even harder 😂

I don’t have kids, but babysitting my niece and nephew for years made me feel like I did have kids. I had very little sleep as if I were their Mom. Even when their Mom was home, I still did most of the work. If you let your kids get away with everything, they become little monsters. If you give them structure and discipline it is far better and they tend to be less work. When my sister allowed for them to have structure and discipline, they actually behaved very well. When she did a complete 180, and let her kids get away with everything, acting like her kids could do no wrong, they changed into brats. It doesn’t just effect them, it effects everyone. Those years were some of the most miserable in my life. I love them, but oh my goodness they have become monsters. I was never allowed to turn into that. For everyone’s sake, please give your kids discipline and structure. You’re only setting your kids up for failure, and making everyone else’s life miserable, including yours if you don’t. Trust me…

So, so true. It makes me so sad to hear people say they don't understand why anyone would want kids because they're so terrible, or for parents to say they can't stand being with their kids because they're so annoying. All it takes, in most cases, is consistent love and discipline and even the most rambunctious, stubborn, and strong-willed child can be a joy to be around! Not saying it's always pleasant or easy, because it's definitely not, but it's so worth it! I love my kids more than I can even imagine possible, and while of course I get stressed out at times, I genuinely enjoy being with them and miss them when they're away from me. I understand parenting may not be for everyone, but it shouldn't be looked at as some sort of nightmare either. To a great extent, your children are what you make them, especially in the early years. If you don't like something about them, i.e. temper tantrums or being extremely whiny, teach them to conquer it. Teach them to become functioning members of society from the time they're infants, instead of making your society conform to them. Take them out in public with you instead of going alone and depriving them of the opportunity to observe and learn how to behave in various social settings. Our job as parents is to prepare our children for the day they are willing and able to choose their own path in life and give them the tools they need to take their place in the world as strong and capable adults.

@@lizagueniat people kept telling me the same thing, disregarding my decision to not have children. We decided decades ago and we are still not experiencing any regrets not having children. We knew it wasn’t for us and that’s fine if you also realize they aren’t for you. The last thing you want is to do something for someone else, then there can be a chance to resent your child. Choosing not to have children doesn’t mean you automatically don’t like them. I work with children. I love each one of them so much, but at the end of the day, I go home happy with my decision. I hope this experience is helpful to you, best of luck in your journey.

This was hilarious! My son is now 12 and I don't have to be nearly as busy around him as I was when he was much younger, this is super accurate. We bond in different ways now that he is older and it's still hilarious, just that we can share more jokes and pranks now. When you become a parent it teaches you so much about love, life and who you are. I can't imagine not being a mom and I was one of those women who didn't care if they would have kids when I was in my 20s. All changed when my boy arrived. He's the sweetest kid and the best son I could ever hope for. Kids are amazing. Bless you!

I'm always grateful I never had kids. Celebrating 16 years with my wife this month and we love our lives. We do whatever we want whenever we want. We have alot of money that we get to spend on ourselves lol. However, I'm sure there's nothing more wonderful than having children. Although we are very satisfied with our dogs and cats😊 and have never once regretted our decision.

But, it’s also a beautiful gift that society doesn’t appreciate. Children are a little gift from God is it sad that people complain about children when they’re literally a Blessing. Of course, life isn’t always easy and attaining Holiness and following Christ is hard, but do able. I felt pretty prepared for having kids. I have a younger sister who is 12 years younger that I helped raise (I would say more than helped). Also, my mom was on bedrest with her and my ex stepfather was useless, so I learned to juggle school and a household at a young age. My sister was colicky, so I also learned to function as a sleep deprived human. That said, having my own children was still hard because unlike with my sister, there's something to be said for being solely responsible for the well being of another individual.

Laundry piled on top of washer and dryer is completely accurate 😂

I can’t imagine my life without our son, he is the joy, happiness, and cute loud bundle of laughter and endless cuddles. He is almost 5. He tells us stories how his school was flying to space and how the building turned into space ship with serious face. At the end comments, well that was actually a joke I didn’t fly to space today))) Different stories every day)). And he brings me flowers to make me smile, I love love love to be a Mom.

Spot on! I was one of those parents who proclaimed (pre-kids) that “our kids will never eat in the car”. 😬I remembered this statement as I was pulling the 1000th french fry from underneath the car mat.

A lot of 'silly' ideas do go straight out of the window! I did manage to stick to one or two of my principles, like no dummies and no TV in bedrooms, but I can't think of many others. They both spent far too much time on computers for a start, and they ate more sweets than I ever admitted to the dentist.

Hahahaha as a couple without kids this is so accurate. Talking to my mom friends on the phone is EXACTLY like that hahahahahaha. You just hear kids screaming and fighting in the background and they have to stop every five minutes to deal with meltdowns and play referee. Honestly, I used to really really want kids, but the older I get and the more I watch my friends go through it the more I'm okay that it hasn't happened for us lol. My life is pretty great and my stress levels are very low lol

The only way he could have made the phone conversation scene more accurate was to not have a glass of wine in his hand and to have someone play as Susan, and Susan ask if she needs to bring wine. I legit got a pack of Black Cherry White Claws for my closest mom friend as a Galentines gift this year.

It literally took me about 40 minutes to watch this video because my kid starts shouting as soon as I try to do something nice for myself. I never thought watching a four minute KZread video uninterrupted would be a treat. This is my life now.

Pretty accurate! I fondly remember all those parenting things I said I'd never do that I have now done. :D It's true that being a parent unlocked levels of exhaustion and anxiety I didn't know existed, even after years of med school and hospital work. But I also feel like I've felt more love, joy and satisfaction since my daughter was born than I was even capable of before. So I feel like the trade off is worth it.

No tells you that when you become a parent you lose all your grip on reality and invest your money in ketchup, chicken nuggets and paw patrol. 🤣🤣🤣

There's nothing wrong with being child free. Maternity is hard and the only way to go through it successfully is if your heart is dead set on it. The mothers who claim it's rewarding are sincere but they do it because it was their choice. If people don't have the necessary love and patience for kids they should not have them because that's how child abuse happens.

That's when you say eff it. Your partner is capable of doing laundry too if they don't oh, well no clean clothes. I wash laundry but I rarely put it up anymore. It just lays in a pile

Amen. Became a mom at 35 and a single one at that but despite the difficulty, I don't ever want to go back to the single self absorbed lifestyle. I didn't realize how unfulfilling it was until I held my miracle baby in my arms. Happiness of the soul so hard to explain if you haven't experienced it.

Yup, I am a child and family therapist and am an oldest of 5, was subject to this and see this responsibility thrust upon my clients a lot. Amazed at how many parents think that passing the buck to their oldest children is necessary/a good idea. I've heard every excuse in the book...

I’m the oldest of my siblings. I was the in house babysitter and refuse to do that to my oldest. He’s almost 12 and I have an almost 2 year old. I tell him all the time his brother is my responsibility. You are not his parent and if I need you to babysit in the future, you will be paid for it and it won’t be a regular thing.

Raising children is the most difficult but the most wonderful thing ever, one (28 yrs old now) was super difficult and stressed me out like Trey portrayed in the video, and another (18 yrs old) who was pretty easy to raise. I love them both very very much and both are great gifts from God.

@@FruityUnicorn17 Thank you! I’ll never understand why people think children are right for everybody and that your life isn’t complete without them. When you’re thinking of getting a pet you’re told to carefully consider if you have the time and space for it to take care of it properly and then to get a breed that matches your lifestyle and activity level and that if you can’t do these things don’t get it because it would be unfair to the pet. But when someone says they don’t want/aren’t ready for kids, which is a way bigger responsibility, people are like, “ No, you just think that now but you’ll change your mind, trust me you should have them.” Like I just told you I don’t want them, doesn’t that disqualify me as being someone you would want to be a parent? I am not too proud to say that I should not raise children for their sake and mine.

I’ve was thinking it was going to be more I don’t go into that bathroom unless I’m cleaning it. My husband laughs because my son’s not allowed to use my bathroom and I will walk to the other end of the house to use mine not his. It’s disgusting and cleaned often but I just can’t use that bathroom.
