That police sketch artist has a weird style compared to other police artist sketches I've seen. Most have a very realistic portrait style, but I'd argue that his style were much more like caricatures.

I can only imagine they did it on purpose, because that style would require less time and in caricatures, the most prominent features are usually over-exaggerated, which makes people more recognisable.

They show you different kind of eyes, noses, mouths etc etc and it does jog your memory more if you’ve got something that reminds you If you were just to try to remember if a random person had a square jaw or a round jaw it would be harder. But if you had reference pictures on HOW squared/defined, or how rounded it makes it much easier

Most people are bad at describing suspects, that’s why eye witnesses can be unreliable. These people see their significant others often and still had trouble... a witness may have only seen a suspect for seconds, sketches jus give a very general idea of what the suspect may have looked like

0ChasingGhosts0 you really cant. a lot of eyewitness things get messed up. theyve gotten better now bc police are trained not to mess with someones memories and such but before theyd get people to remember false things and the person would think ita so real and get the wrong people in trouble bc of those false memories.

I think you're trying to imply that I was trying to make a racial comment in some form, which would not be correct at all. The way he said it was funny and pointless to me. It also confirmed how bad he was describing his partner which is where the humor of the video comes from. In general, I got the impression that he is a funny guy. If you're trying to insinuate that I had some deeper, darker meaning you are mistaken. I actually don't know how that could be taken in any other form than what I meant.

I'm Dutch, no other heritage as far as the family tree goes, and I was called names in school for looking Asian. If I squint, it looks like my eyes are closed. Weird genes

+camryn collier It made me cringe. Maybe he didn't mean offence but it's crass to always equate asian = small / dutch = big. Plus asians/ppl with small eyes get put down a lot. Asians have to deal with a lot of racism. To someone who is privileged or doesn't understand it, they would not cringe and just see it as a blunt kinda joke and find it funny... but to many ppl who have dealt with racial insults or just understand them- they will see how cringe this guy was. Hopefully oneday you understand this. You don't look white yourself so maybe you can relate through people making weird offhand comments about races with big noses or lips or something with some indirect connotation that it's bad to have those traits.
