Hard to accept that there are cat people who are missing a piece of their heart ( and brain) to willfully abandon a black cat. I wish I'd have found him on a Friday the 13th while walking under a ladder by a pile of spilled salt. I'd have considered myself blessed. Thank you for giving him a loving home.

Just because someone lets a cat go doesn’t mean they’re stupid. There are multiple reasons to let a cat go. For example the cat grows up to be too aggressive. If you try to let someone buy the cat and no one wants to buy it you can put the cat in a neighborhood with rich people and they could get adopted or they could choose the wildlife with no rules. Cats are predators they’re not going to be fully domesticated so they can survive in the wild if they choose to. Plus, if you just adopt any cat you see you could have a chance getting rabies or another type of sickness. You can’t just judge someone and their whole personality based on them letting a cat go

@@sarcastic__harmony8052 Plenty of rescues, people who will adopt a cat without just letting it go live on its own, No, cats don't do well in the wild, Too many predators, Coyotes, snakes, dogs, LG. Birds, etc.... Dumping a cat off in a nice neighborhood is not a guarantee it will find a home. They end up getting run over by cars. Too many people think it's Ok. But it's NOT , to dump off a cat. Inhumane period .

Think some people would have driven there car over the poor kitten ( I have seen worse) the owner could have dropped the little kitten to some shelter .

I couldn't agree more - black is not only one of the most GORGEOUS coat colors for a cat (or animal, really), but black cats - esp rescues - bring the best of luck when given the love and care they so richly deserve!! ❤

The only person I can think of right off-hand who has a cat show up at his doorstep pretty much every spring is my dad, and as far as I know, ALMOST EVERY SINGLE BLACK CAT HE HAS EVER HAD has shown up at his door.

It's true that black cats and dogs are the hardest to adopt. I went to adopt a dog years ago and as I was walking through the shelter, there was this little black dog huddled in the corner. He was just precious but so scared. I asked if I could get in there with him. It took a while, but he let me get close to him. Needless to say, he went home with me...😄 I told him he was a little thief, cause he stole my heart that day. He was the best!!!!!! I had Buddy (a little black toy poodle) for 14 1/2 years before he passed at the age of 16 1/2 from a brain tumor that had developed very quick. From the diagnosis he was gone in a week. I miss that little pupper. But even though I have another doggo to share my love with now, Buddy will always have that special place in my heart reserved just for him.

I m in love with black cats. And this comes from a guy that saved many cats in his life and recently lost one of his furry pals, to cancer.... Let these black beasts give u all the joy they can.

Agree. We loved our shelter adopted black cat until she crossed the 🌈 at 13 from kidney failure. This little guy is adorable.

In England and Japan black cats are thought to be GOOD luck , and I agree !!

He's beautiful. Thank you for being kind loving ppl to adopt him. My wife & i rescued a gray kitten & a blackkitten from a sewer after an intense rain storm that caused flash flooding in the streets. That was 5 years ago & they are both incredibly loving- seemingly grateful to this day. There aren't enough good ppl to adopt all the animals that need to be rescued,. You guys are awesome human beings! Don't ever stop loving you animals!!!

If you hadn't adopted him I would - in a ♥ beat. Black cats & dogs are the best!

Black dogs are also the hardest to place. It's even called Black Dog Syndrome. When my kids were young, I fostered, and every time I went back for a new dog, I'd take a Black pup or two under a year old. I'd crate, leash and housebreak them. Teach the to sit, fetch, shake, and other tricks depending on the pup and how long I had them. Over a couple of years, I placed around 25 Black dogs. The training REALLY helped find them homes. Your new family member is beautiful 😍!

Am I crazy or does this cutie pie have a tortoiseshell undercoat? Every time he gets into the light I see it. I love my black dogs, they totally appeal to me that’s where my eye immediately goes especially when they have hazel eyes or blue eyes, my daughter says they look spooky where I think they look mystical. I have had two tortoiseshell cats and now my daughter has a black cat and a tortoiseshell kitten, she named her Phoebe just so she could sing the cat song to her.😂

This is a very special relationship. Older kitties like Max that are sweet and loving to the new kitten are the absolute best. They foster them for you. Our older kitty Shadow has raised two kittens for us this way. He's like their older brother.

When we had cats, all sadly passed due to old age now, we bought the last two a nice, cozy covered bed for them to sleep in. And they immediately went in and fell asleep... _In the cardboard box it came in!_ They hardly ever used the bed... 8-((... But that is cats for you! ;-))... Albert, our last one, passed away in August, last year. He was 16 years old. He was born in my missus' clothing cupboard and is now buried no more than 30 ft from where he appeared all those years ago. However. We're now to old to have any more cats, but boy, do I miss them all.
