In fact for me this is not very aespa, it is more a first experimental stage while the producers decided better the concept and the sound. The girls actually didn't like his concept at first.

Oh, they don’t know Dreams Come True is a remake, nor just how legendary the history behind the song is (literally pioneered kpop GGs)

Aespa killing the 1st gen cover! "DREAMS COME TRUE" originally by S.E.S. came out in 1998. Its a classic and they did such a good job keeping the classic sound while mixing some modern vibes into it. The lil alien robot is a direct call back to the original song nd video.. its iconic! Yall should def check out the original at some point, maybe during the next deep dive!

Song was originally by Nylon Beat, which is a Finnish girl group. SM licensed the song and S.E.S covered it in Korean.

He signed a provisional contract on the spot and bought the copyright. A few years later, SM held the SM Writer's Conference in France with global composers participating. At this time, the original author came with a gift and asked Lee Soo-man if he remembered S.E.S. Lee Soo-man said he remembered the memories. (translator)

There's a documentary about how the cover of Dreams Come True came about. BoA worked on rearranging the song, and she tried to figure out what the alien rap lyrics were. She wrote out what she thought the lyrics were and brought them to the original producer of the song who told her, "Nah, it was just nonsense." That whole series is very fun and wholesome.

Fun fact: Giselle is a choir in highschool even Karina said that Giselle has the best musicality in the group.

Giselle actually had a lot of choir experiences before entering SM and starting rap, so she definitely got vocal skills. And, that's way she can sing and rap at the same time:)

@@Superion74 Technically it's not a remake. A remake would be a totally different sound/vibe, which is what AESPA did. S.E.S's song is a Korean language cover of a song called "Rakastuin mä looseriin" ("Like a Fool") by Finnish girl group, Nylon Beat.

Life's Too Short works so well, I'm impressed they came out with the English version first to make sure it flowed properly

"Dreams Come True" is one of my all-time favorite Kpop songs. It was a big hit by the FIRST ever SM girl group: S.E.S. This cover is a loving homage to the O.G. SM girl group legends! As a further loving nod to S.E.S., Giselle sings "I'm in Twilight Zone (16:08), and that is a reference to another S.E.S. song entitled "Twilight Zone". : )

Life's Too Short is seriously one of my fave songs, it feels so good to sing.

Giselle is actually a singer, but she wanted to try rapping when she audition for SM. Which was got in 😂

Winter does a lot of the 'yeah yeah' adlibs in their songs. Ningning does the Ariana Grande type runs like 'ooh ooh' or 'whoa whoa'. I listen to so much aespa that I can pick it up in a second :)

I am stoked for dreams come true! This is a remake, BoA and Bada (of S.E.S) helped. And the song is originally by S.E.S!

Winter was the one who did all the adlibs at the end of "Dreams Come True" and Ningning was the one who did the "whoa whoa" part at the end

So two of the songs reacted here are actually remakes: AESPA's 'Forever' is actually a remake of another SM artist named Yoo Young-Jin, released in 2000. I believe he's also a producer at SM... or formerly. and then 'Dreams Come True' is a remake of first generation SM girl group, S.E.S., released in 1998. There's been many covers of the S.E.S version; one of which featured Red Velvet's Irene, Seulgi, and Joy, and TWICE's Momo, Tzuyu, and Chaeyoung

Dreams come true has a little alien in it, he's pretty much speaking gibberish. The song is about being in love so it feels like a dream and like things dont always make sense XD

forever and dream come true actually a remake songs from their big senior in SM Ent, Forever is a song by ex-SM producer Yoo Youngjin, Dream Come True is a song by S.E.S (SM's first girlgroup) (i think they are the 1st in kpop too). Dream Come True is a remake project by SM ent and there's a documentary abt it. Producer Yoo Youngjin, the original owner of Forever also on the documentary

I was/am so obsessed with dreams come true that my spotify wrapped last year said it's the song I listened to the most in a day with over 700 replays...

That might be a controversial pick but "Life is too short" is my favorite bside from them (at least until the "my world" era).

Forever is a remake of an older song if I’m not mistaken. But it’s gorgeous nonetheless!! Life’s Too Short is a great song that grew on me and is a never-skip now. Aespa is just so good!
