No russian singers that did this song of ALLA Pugachova's, desired to perform it anymore since DIMASH did his version in a tribute celebration to Alla. Most stated on TV they was not much use in performing it as DIMASH version is the standard they would have to measure up to and no one felt they could do that. REALLY who could perform it any better, no living soul I know of.

So now you have heard the correct pronunciation of Dimash from Igor Krutoy's introduction - Deemash, not Dimash.

It's purplish maroon for sure !.....but I think it's getting pretty faded by now. That was fresh about 2018-19. and he 's worn that suit in sooooo many houses....

He is getting deeper w/o losing the highs.

The lighting was weird for that stage. Two different camera angles made the suit look two different colors. So the suit is Purple when the Blue light is on him AND the suit is Maroon in different lighting. So there, problem solved. lol But agreed; who else would even bother trying to pull off that Velvet Suit look? He did great there.

He's so great! The suit is burgundy in colour. Igor Krutoy, at the piano, wrote the song in 1990, for Alla, the blonde woman shown in the audience at the beginning of the video. Dimash does more than Mariah, & better anyway....Unforgetable Day GAKKU, Drunken Concubine/Diva Dance.

I really don't mind the comparisons as you both aren't bashing any singers at all. The way you both express it is in the technicality sense and I, too feel the same. But Dimash expresses his notes in the realm of "feelings". The pitch perfect note that resonates with your existence; that's where his mastery shines. He's definitely one of a kind.

None of them shed a single tear. We have seen to DavidCult Tv crying and they felt very strongly the singing. I congratuled to DavidCult Tv them for crying. Crying is very human. Those two from the video don't look human to me, They look to me reptilian, jajaja... the OB Dave face expression tell me everything. they don't believe in the note but the agree Dimash sang nice. Igor Krutoy wrote this song for his earlier muse, Russian singer Alla Pugacheva, whose ravaged voice worked well with the Autumn romance theme of the lyrics. I can't help but wonder if when he came out of his (billionaire's) retirement after hearing Dimash's 'Sinful Passion' he was thinking, "What could a voice like this do with 'Love is Like a Dream'?" The spellbinding "Ava Maria, Ava amour" head voice hymn section is not in Igor's prior versions with Pugacheva. To me, this section is a paean to the eternal feminine, that part of our spirit that is eternally loving, healing and generative. It's as if he is saying, "My earthly love for you burns from within with something Celestial, Holy." And it's so damn beautiful it's made me cry more times than I can count. 😭 I also like the way the song shows off so much of Dimash's range in both timbre and pitch (even though, in other live performances he has produced strong whistle tones two octaves higher with strong vibrato and duration). With the many ornaments Dimash has added, e. g. the lovely mordents on "I love you," that brilliant starburst finish with its shift to a triumphant major key, and the beautiful last note belted out for a third of a minute, he has truly made the song his own. BTW, it's a wine-red velvet suit. 😂😂😂

Great reaction guys. And yes, at last someone said it, thanks Ash, Dimash high notes are high but not "shrill" like Mariah or even Ariana, his tone is so much more pleasing to the ears. That's one reason why I really don't like comparing him to many females, I find them too "shrill". One is called “Ikanaide” which is very soft and full of precision vocals, the other was actually a foreign version of “The Masked Singer” which is called “our love” and both of those performances are absolutely flawless. I always recommend this to be one of the first songs by Dimash to listen. It is somehow a "compulsory" part of the playlist. Now you saw why. They performed at the "A gift for Alla." concert for the anniversary of Alla Pugacheva in Moscow 6:24 This was the first time most people heard his, now, well known angelic melismas that were called his “MariahCareys” or his “avemarias” by non music specialised reactors. Great reaction as always guys! - I can see that this one almost got you both in places, eh?... ...amazing song and performance. 😍 ...I also LOVE the fact that Ash put the Dimash > Mariah comparison into the EXACT wording I would have, too - I know that Mariah is an incredibly talented and amazing singer, but Ash, you nailed it when you said 'squealy', compared to Dimash... ...it's so refreshing to hear that I'm not the only one who feels that way!... (Okay, long comment alert - read at your peril!):- Re. "Squealy" - I couldn't listen to MC's music very much, BECAUSE of this - it was literally like every song was primarily a technical showcase - her covers especially, I personally found unlistenable (ie. why sing that one original note in a song, when you can squeeze 10 insanely high-pitched ones in?) - simply because Mariah could (still can!)), but this was seemingly done at EVERY opportunity, which although technically impressive - was, I personally honestly felt, sometimes to the detriment of the music itself... If I compare that with Dimash's music, I do find that I can listen to the same tracks 100's of times, without any loss of enjoyment / chills - I know this is down to both Dimash's and Igor's skills in creating stunning songs/compositions, in addition to his amazing singing, AND emotional performances - and the three elements just 'gel' together to generally create absolutely beautiful, emotional and eminently (re)listenable songs. Honestly? - Like everything in life, there ARE a few of even Dimash's original songs and covers that I didn't find myself enjoying as much simply because of different musical tastes/styles etc, but WOW... ...that 'gold' ratio? - almost ALL (95%?) of them are absolute, sometimes heart-melting/soul-wrenching masterpieces (even those in genres I wouldn't normally listen to), and his voice complements / raises the music BECAUSE every note that he sings is so well matched with it, and not the other way around (ie. not just an out-of-place technical showcase of just how high he can sing). As regards going back to MC - I do love "Fly Like A Bird" even though it's a classic example of her range, because that actually showcases her high AND low range skills and singing style in a perfectly complimentary, amazing track! (PS - Morrisette Amon sings a fantastic version of this, with amazing backing from her friends), but I felt BITD, that a lot of the tracks that MC covered were arguably less easily listenable, compared to the originals. ...Please don't flame me, fellow listeners / Dears! - it's a personal opinion, and I do totally respect MC's amazing level of singing skill, plus the fact that she made (jaw-dropping) 'whistle tone' cool... Keep up the great work guys!
