Keep in mind that the reality is somewhat different: these types of young males and ethnicities and from Latin America are moving more and more to the US (like MS13 members) - you see them more and more in the US than in their home country. San Salvador is now safer because of this and has become tough on crime - while CA and NYC (see the Times Square incident) are soft on crime.

Catamaran sailboats have dive platforms that make it easy to gain access from the water while swimming. Not having a small dog on the boat to alert was an oversight. Bear spray and a baseball bat work well if you are not caught off guard and willing to swing towards the fences.

Grenada is not in the Bahamas. Its a long way south of there, located in the Lesser Antilles Islands... Also its just bad luck....it can happen anywhere today ...not much different than couple killed in their PA home by escaped survivalist last summer !

@@kimberlywoodbury1739 "Cruisers" amongst many other uses...is a term used for people who go on leisurely trips via sailboat. I agree though that this is a very rare occurrence and can happen anywhere. Grenada is a pretty popular play for long term cruisers to keep the boats on land in winter due to the less likely change for a hurricane to hit.

@@kimberlywoodbury1739 No worries! My definition of the term "cruiser": "A people that sail leisurely, generally without pay and are sailing mostly for the sake of sailing itself and generally not in official competition with other sailors. All have varying degrees of saltiness.

They were going to get caught either way, they didn't have to kill them. Unbelievable. I hope they get severely hurt in prison, I am still crying over this. My prayers and my condolences to them both❤️🙏❤️💔💔💔

I follow several youtuber sailing families. This is so disturbing, to think this could happen to any of them is beyond the pale. Many ports of call do not allow them to have arms, so something has to change.

Have you ever sailed? Have any idea how many different weapons laws there are out there? Unfortunately, that's the main reason we don't load up. And until there is a universal maritime weapon law, people carry at their own risk of penalty. Sadly. Keep safe

@@HandyMan657 You can arm yourself and travel. It just becomes a major hassle when you enter and leave countries. So many people don't do it because of the hassle. But many more don't do it because "guns bad". And btw, the hassle is that if you enter most countries with a gun, you have to leave it at the port of entry. Then you can pick it up again when you leave. But if you don't plan to leave from the same port of entry, you are screwed. You would have to go back to your original port of entry to reclaim your weapon. Of course this varies from country to country, but I think it's basically hassles like this that cause people to make the choice to not carry a gun. Of course you can always try to hide the gun, but then if you get caught, you are in serious trouble.

Stop spreading lies, Grenada is one of the safest islands to visit. Bad things can and will happen anywhere. But I’ve been there many times all hours of the night as a woman alone. It’s funny how there’s no talk of the U.S being dangerous with all the random shootings in every state or the school shooter issues. Rarely is Grenada even in the news due to violence and you want to spread misinformation.

Look up the crimes those men were originally in prison for. Now look up their new charges. The boat was covered in blood. Put the pieces together. They didn't just throw them overboard.

Thousands do this every year in more dangerous parts of the world without incident. Driving a vehicle with a soft top in Chicago is much more likely to result in hijacking than sailing through the Caribbean.

If you fly an American flag then you have the right to sail with your registered firearms. If other countries will not allow you to defend yourself while you are in their waters then don't go there. An anchored or docked boat is still your home to defend no matter where you are.

You can have all the guns you want in international waters. It’s when you enter another countries territorial waters that you have to abide by their rules. If you’re not going to go anywhere that doesn’t let you take your guns you might as well sell the boat.

Faulty line of thought. Pyramids exist in all economies. The rich are the point at the top, and everyone else falls under them. This includes the US. There are way more struggling than successful here, and even cost of living is getting harder and harder to achieve. More people are living with their parents. Can’t get jobs. Can’t get a foothold anywhere. They could have given everything up to live this specific dream. Just because you own something nice doesn’t necessarily mean that you have nice things…
