Lyrics:
High vibration go on
To the sun
Oh, let my heart dreaming
Past a mortal as me
Where can I be?
Wish the sun to stand still
Reaching out to touch our all being
Past all mortal as we
Here we can be
(He can be here)
(Be here now)
Here we can be
Suns | High | Streams | Through
Awaken gentle mass touch
(Gentle mass touch)
Awaken gentle mass touch
(Gentle mass touch)
Strong | Dreams | Reign | Here
Awaken gentle mass touch
(Gentle mass touch)
Awaken gentle mass touch
(Gentle mass touch)
Awaken gentle mass touch
(Star | Song)
Star | Song | Age | Less
Awaken gentle mass touching
(Gentle mass touch)
Awaken gentle mass touching
(Gentle mass touch)
Awaken gentle mass touching
Touching...
Touching...
Touching...
Workings of man
Set to ply out historical life
Reregaining the flower of the fruit of his tree
All awakening
All restoring you
Workings of man
Crying out from the fire set aflame
By his blindness to see
That the warmth of his being
Is promised for his seeing
His reaching so clearly
Workings of man
Driven far from the path
Rereleased in inhibitions
So that all is left for you
All is left for you
All is left for you
All is left for you NOW...
Master of images
Songs cast a light on you
Hark thru dark ties
That tunnel us out of sane existence
In challenge as direct
As eyes see young stars assemble
Master of light
All pure chance
As exists cross divided
In all encircling mode
Oh closely guided plan
Awaken in our heart
Master of soul
Set to touch
All impenetrable youth
Ask away
That thought be contact
With all that's clear
Be honest with yourself
There's no doubt
No doubt
Master of time
Setting sail
Over all our lands
And as we look
Forever closer
Shall we now bid
Farewell farewell...
High vibration go on
To the sun, oh let my heart dreaming
Past a mortal as me
Where can I be
Wish the sun to stand still
Reaching out to touch our own being
Past all mortal as we
Here we can be
Like the time I ran away
Turned around and you were standing close to me
Like the time I ran away
Turned around and you were standing close to me

Yes is, in my humble opinion, the greatest progressive rock band. One thing I would recommend, is to always listen to the studio version before the live version, as some of the quality of the older videos aren't the best. Listening to the studio version gives you a lot more detail that is sometimes lost in a live performance. But after you hear the studio version watching the live is fine. I would recommend also to probably start with Roundabout, then perhaps Starship Trooper, or I've Seen All Good People.

This version is as great as the studio
This song is perfection. All these 5 musicians are amazing. Yes, it does encourage an atmosphere of meditation and transcendence. It is an ecstatic experience/ journey.
That's a deep rabbit hole you've just jumped into! Lots of wonderful music awaits you, from this fabulous band. Probably the best band in the world? Certainly the most technically gifted, that's for sure. Thanks for the uploads!
Jon Anderson also performs this song, Awaken, more recently in a concert with an Icelandic collective named Todmobile, with orchestra and choir. Absolutely worth checking out 🙂

Best live version of Awaken ever. The choir, orchestra and production is superb, even though the other great Yes men were not playing. Proves Jon is the heart & soul of Yes to me.
You have just listened to the greatest band that has graced this planet sung by the greatest voice in music Mr Jon Anderson. This is just one of Yes's masterpieces possibly the peak of their powers but there are others for you to experience. You have no idea what awaits you.Jon is a beautifully spiritual person.

Yes! They jumped into the deep end with this one. Can you imagine if this was the first Yes song you ever heard? I can't. My favorite of all their masterpieces.
The shortest 19 minute song ever recorded. Such a beautiful performance, flawless, just perfect in every way.
YES!!! The greatest band there ever was or will ever be!🤩
Yes one of Classic Progs greatest bands with this classic lineup all Prog HOF players doing one of Classic Progs "Best" Epics, it's always in Prog Magazines Top 10 songs ! 👍🎶🙏🎼✌
This track has really stood the test of time. I grew up in the 70s and we just thought this was normal. I've seen Yes here in the UK many times and they are a sublime live band. It's like having ten musicians on stage. The rest of the Going for the One album is very fine
Jon and Chris sang in their church choirs, you can hear that here.

Chris certainly did, but I've never heard that about Jon.
Wakeman, keyboards, Howe, guitars, Bruford, drums, Squire, bass, Anderson, vocals. As a musician of 40 years, I can tell you that these five are at the top of their individual talents. As musicians, composers, and performers, few can exceed and excel. Epic.

Bill Bruford left Yes in 1972, long before the music on Going For The One was recorded in 1977.

Sin dudas un supergrupo, con enormes talentos, espero que muchos disfruten de estos monsters que me abrieron la mente desde los 70' para este nuevo siglo.
Thanks for the insightful review. I f you have not already, please review “Close to the Edge”, another brilliant composition by Yes. Keep up the good work!
Oh! I wish you'd done the studio version or the Jon Anderson with Todmobile version, both of which, in my opinion, are better - others may disagree, that's fine.

Ladies and gentlemen Chris Squire and Yes the greatest show on earth. Wonderful start to your divine YES journey. Yours Is No Disgrace would be a nice second intro to see the rockier part of Prog Rock. Awaken is the progier part. ✨️🎶🙏🎶✨️ You are correct that YES tends to lean towards the divine. If you want rock try I've Seen All Good People or Roundabout their most popular dance tune, well at least I've been dancing to Roundabout for 53yrs
this is not the symphonic live version, they have the full concert on video called symphonic live 2001....well worth a look all the way through...also , on the studio version, a real church organ is used

In Canada, I saw Yes play with a Symphony backing them. Also went to an outdoor concert with Rick Wakeman( keyboard master), he had some equipment issues at one point and came out front and talked, told stories for a bit. Really enjoyed both concerts. I have been listening to a lot of Nightwish more recently, but nice to hear Yes again, quite a soundscape they are creating here. I heard that when Nightwish went to record the orchestra in London with Pip Williams, Rick Wakeman opened the door to let them into the studio.
Thank you for reaction and your rapt attention! New subscriber. Love these gents so much. Straight to my soul.
YES is the greatest progressive rock band in my opinion. I just subscribed. I subscribe to anyone who reacts to them as will many other YES fans so keep them coming. Loads of greats including "Roundabout", "The Gates of Delirium", "Close to the Edge", "And You and I", "Turn of the Century", "Starship Trooper", "Perpetual Change", "The Revealing Science of God", lots more.
You sure picked an unusual start for reacting to Yes. First off, this performance was pretty good but they were well past their prime here. Second, the studio version is so much better - a lot more dynamic...and it's shorter by about 5 minutes. Steve Howe the guitarist was very subdued here. In the studio version you would have been wowed by both the keyboardist AND the guitarist. Here is I bit of trivia -- Steve Howe won Best Overall Guitarist 5 years in a row in Guitar Player magazine back in the 70s. And the bassist too is very subdued here -- he is also recognized as one of the greatest bass players ever (Getty Lee from Rush pretty much idolizes him). Your comment about the song being a "fast song" even tho it was 20 min. is spot on, and that just shows the brilliance of their compositions. Their songs always seem to fly by for the length that they actually are and they always take you on a wonderful journey. Lastly, in my opinion, as great as this song is, it's not their best piece of music. Anyway, if you are to do more Yes, listen to songs from their more straight forward "rock" oriented albums like The Yes Album and Fragile, just to get broken into their sound. Only then, do their epic works from Close to the Edge and Relayer albums. Oh and, even tho they do incorporate some "spiritual" material in their music, they are NOT a religious band by any means. (Maybe do some research into the music) I erg you to do more reactions to this band (or even off camera), you will not regret it. When you become more accustom to their method of composition and playing you'll realize that there is no other band like them. p.s. At the very least listen to their hit single "Roundabout" (from the Fragile album). -- yes, they did actually have 2 hit singles...

Fair point, we know people for some reason want it to be either their best performance or studie version, and I get it if you're a big fan of them u want their best performance to been showed. On the other side is interesting to see musicians getting old and still trying their prime time, some can't handle it and some like Steven Tyler, still rocking after 50 years of business. Maybe the research, we like to do it blindfolded and let people correct us about it, is fine people not like it that way but hey there is millions other reaction, Channel out there for free. Ty for watching and helping out

@@CelcaReact Interesting about the most watched video. I'm not sure why this video is called ""Symphonic Live" because there actually is a live performance of this song done with the band and a symphony orchestra. Also interesting that it was done at a JAZZ festival. Anyway, I'm not sure if you saw my edit above, but you should at the very least do their 70s hit single "Roundabout". It's a lot more accessible -- and it's only 8+ minutes long ;)

Past their prime, lol. I saw YES 36 times from 1975 to 2015, and as a concert violinist, they were brilliant
Finally you found the Masters!
BTW this can't be Symphonic because Rick Wakeman wasn't on that tour (plus there is no orchestra.) This looks like the 35th anniversary tour which was excellent. ;they played for about three hours, including a 20 minute acoustic set during the interval.
Best...band...ever!! Thanks for the reaction!!
YES are very Spiritual MORE than religious. AWAKEN your Soul to the Divine that's all around us. It was a Petal Steel Slide guitar. Its more Classical & Rock influenced than Jazz. The Festival is just called Jazz. Their long music never feels long.
I agree completely
I heard what she said turned from the mic just fine,at least that moment.
I prefer any live version of this, not that the studio is bad. The best version I've heard and own is ,Yes Live from the house of blues.

Try the live version from Keys To Ascension, actually listen to the whole album the recording is beast mode. 👍
If you want a simpler one try "Owner of a Lonely Heart" but not the music video. That's too crazy. Just do the studio version. You have to play "Awaken" several more times to appreciate it. Keep the YES music coming. Try "Roundabout" next.
Spiritual yes, not necessarily religious
You are right in a way, they are very spiritual persons, most of them. Yet I wouldn't call it religious. They believe in strange things, very esoteric, which I don't like, because I'm not a believer. But Yes remains the best band ever. Everyone talks about Pink Floyd for prog, but Yes is the incarnation of prog. Of course lots of other great bands… but they are unique.
This version is quite tame... there are other live versions that capture the live power of the song and are not as slow. Also, starship trooper, yours is no disgrace, & roundabout are better starting points to listen ti yes.
This isn't "Symphonic live". Rick Wakeman wasn't member of the band while the "Symphonic live" concert. And where is the symphonic orchestra?
Not religious in the narrow sectarian sense, but spiritual in the wider sense. You have to remember they started back in the heyday of 60s Flower Power ☮
No... they ROCK most of the time. Try "Siberian Khatru" or "Going for the One'. And their music is often spiritual, not religious.
No Opportunity Necessary No Orchestra Needed
Not jazz, prog. Yes is not religious, but spiritual. No organized religion. Rick Wakeman is far from religious. Best keyboard player ever, but a stand up comedian too
Spiritual but not overtly religious. Yes is their own religion. Enjoy
Not so much religious but Spritual. They never bring any particular beliefs into their music. You went to deep too fast. Try starshiptrooper. Roundabout, or perpetual change. Then you will be Better prepared for going deeper
