    Not bad, first one I've seen that I wasn't getting angry watching someone assemble a new implement! Good approach and methodical about the assembly. That retention pin attachment on the gearbox PTO shaft I see as critical. They seem to be wobbly enough during perfect operation. If something happened where the pto shaft separated with engine power on connected to the tractor, thats a lot of steel flying around before shut down! You are the first one I found that showed that retention pin, I hope others know how important that is incase the shear bolt brakes that is the only thing holding it on until shutdown. Thanks for uploading your video.

    To get all of the dirt out of the hole, stop the auger while it's in the bottom of the hole, then lift it up. This way the dirt stays on the auger. Then move the tractor a bit then clean the dirt off the auger.

    Please go to Harbor Freight and get a 3/4 drive socket set and a medium sized pipe wrench. Just the things to tighten those hitch pins.

    Hole-lee heck that's a big auger. That will make the tree planting easier for sure. Good vid, thanks. FWIW I use a 4" auger (hand-held) for my fence post.

    Thanks for the view and comment! Good luck with your new tool. The possibilities are near endless with a tractor PTO/3-point…as long as your funds are also endless 😬. But seriously, there are a lot of useful tractor implements available. Thanks again!

    Sometimes the plastic sleeve won't stay on the PTO mount at the tractor and sometimes it goes on and won't come off. Is there a secret tab I'm not using?

    I found that when i initially installed boom on my 25 farmtrac the auger bit was barley off ground so i put bolt in 1st hole which made auger bit sit up higher for travel around prop..also auger is working but i dont like the jerky motion when raising and lowering,,are you having same issues

    I also had to raise my boom to the first hole to get some ground clearance. Mine is a little jerky, but not too bad.

    Thanks for leaving in your mistakes. I would have installed the guard before the driveshaft as well and had to take it back off. Don't ya hate it when that happens? 😂

    Is it an extendable shaft, or did you have to buy an extension separately?

    Why do you put the yoke in the second hole in the boom ?

  • @usmcgunz1066

    @usmcgunz1066

    The assembly instructions recommend using the 2nd hole as a starting point. For me, with it in the second hole, the bit would slightly drag the ground. So I moved it up to the first hole. Doesn’t drag now.

    Hmmm? That’s odd. As you can see near the end of the video, mine digs down the full length of the shaft. Before I purchased mine, I read the reviews. I do remember seeing some that said they were having a hard time getting theirs to dig in. The biggest take away I got from the other reviews was to run it at idle and let the auger do the work. So that is how I have used mine. I haven’t had an issue with the holes I have dug with it. Good luck. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    How far is your auger off ground when its in upright position,,i had to put my boom in 1st hole so the auger would be higher off ground,,sounds like yours needs to be closer,,make sure you have the boom connected correctly..

    I also had to move the yolk piece to the first hole on the boom for more ground clearance.
