@@flownbybees actually i don't buy many books but I would buy an entire bookshop if I could.. I have around 30 books an I'm an avid reader. I use my local library. It's free and I can find almost everything I want to read. The only downside is that I'm Italian and i live in Italy and adore the English language and I've been trying to learn it for quite a while. English books here are never NEVER on sale and can't find almost any of them in public libraries. So the only books i buy are in English (so I can learn the language and do what I like - reading- at the same time) and every time I buy a book, even though secondhand on the internet, there's something within me that makes me feel better, I can't deny it.. and if books were less expensive or if i could afford buying more I would and I would stuff my house with books 🤣 but I can't 🤣🤣🤣 btw I don't have a fancy bookstagram account 😂

in the most respectful way possible, this made me feel so much better about my unread books

400 adventures awaiting! Around 30 I think in my realistic physical TBR. I have given up counting all the classics that have accumulated, that's a separate TBR to accompany me through the next decades😅

hi! my tip for not buying more books than i can read is to go to a library instead of a bookstore whenever i feel like getting new books. that way, i still get all the joy from browsing and leaving with new books, but for free and not permanent

I have at least 360 books on my physical TBR. I went through and tagged them on a Goodreads shelf….but haven’t updated new books I bought this year 😬 Buying books versus reading are 💯 different hobbies!

Make a spreadsheet! You could do a simple one with just the author, title, & a checkbox for whether or not you've read it. That way, you could see the percentage of read/unread. It's also super helpful when you're at the store & can't remember if you own a certain book or not

I just checked my spreadsheet.. I own 723 books, & 342 are unread. You are not alone!!! Lol It's nice to have options though, isn't it?

I am so with you. My TBR on my nook and kindle is amazing. Not to mention all the actual books I haven't read. But that's ok.

Practically training myself not to buy more books till I read the ones I have on my shelf was the hardest thing. But it did motivate me to read the books I have and I'm now geting used to it. It also helped me chose the books I buy more carefuly

And yes, buying books and reading are two separate hobbies and this is going to be my justification from now on😆😂 I saw TJ Klune ‘the cerulean sea’ in the list and I highly recommend. My first book of his was ‘under the whispering door’ and absolutely loved it, cried, laughed and cried more. Easy to read his writing too. Overall we all on the same boat makes me happy😅😂

I’d like to see where you wrap your physical tbr books and put numbers n them and then put those numbers and folded pieces of paper and put them in a jar then draw a number and read that book. It would also be a thought to help you read what’s on your tbr

The counting in English thing is so real. Also you should def make a tbr shelf(s) so that you can always see them and then they feel accessible!!

i try to read books on my kindle first and then if i like them, i buy a physical copy... it hasn't completely cured my physical tbr problem, but it has helped!

You could do a video where you spin a wheel or something and the numbers represent shelves, and then you read only the books on that shelf for a week.

I own over 5,000 books, and thousands of them are unread. I don’t feel even a hint of shame lol. I work in a bookstore. Part of my job is literally reading. I love books so much. They make me happy to own them. I’m supporting my bookstore, and authors. Everyone wins when I buy books!!! Did I see “A Key To My Heart” on your shelves? Is so, read it! It’s my favorite book of the year so far. Despite the hideous cover, it’s such a beautiful story. I loved it so much. One of my favorite romances of all time. I do have to warn you though, there is no smut in the book. Keep that in mind when you pick it up. Thanks for the video💖

i had maybe 300 when i first moved into my apartment and i’ve gotten rid of several… so i still have about 300! buts its ok-i’m borrowing from the library and reading on my kindle and if i just so happen to really really like the book and buy a copy… technically, the tbr didn’t change

So my physical TBR is 117. Not as bad as I thought. Life has been particularly tough the last few nonstop, so I’ve been doing retail therapy. We do not talk about the kindle TBR list. That thing is a blackhole best left on it’s own. 😂

i always like 10 books on my tbr because i don’t let my self but more until i have less than 10 so like if i read 2 or 3 it goes to 7/8 books on my tbr so now i can buy more 2 or 3 books but never have more than 10 because if so my adhd suffers

My husband has informed me that just because LarryReads has more books than me that that's not a goal... Very sad; I too would like to have 400+ book on my physical TBR. I have 64 books on my physical TBR, but I just bought like 10 more books on Amazon the other day, so once they get here tomorrow that number will change.
