Hello, I am the SINO general distributor in Europe and owner of the exclsuive rights and trademarks as well. Unfortunately I have to say that you are right, the readout is a illegal fake and the seller cheat you. It is just a cheap copy of the original and a plagiarism and also the normal scale is a copy. The KA-500? well, it looks like that this is produced by Sino for the chinese market and the low chinese demand for accuracy. The other scale looks like a copy and when you compare the serial number of the scales and the readout, it is the same number! but with an real Sino header, which is a 6 years old version - sorry for this bad message but just under the law, of course it is illegal to import. But not only this, even it is by law not allow to plug in the cable in the electricity socket.

Hi PeWe. Do you happen to have a website with your products? Fortunately (well, not a surprise), I got this shipment returned back to the seller at his expense (free shipping from China, but over 120 EUR from Finland back to China :D) and I think he will have fun paying the taxes at customs as it is listed at 379 USD on the CN23 customs declaration form :D So yeah, I did get my money back and the seller has been reported to eBay for selling fakes. I even asked Finnish customs about the legality of me shipping it back to the seller and they okayed it, as it got to Finland and through customs without any notice that it would be a counterfeit product. And I don't blame them, it took me a couple of days of Googling to find that you might be the guy behind SINO brand in Europe. Very hard to find any information, no definate webpage, nothing. I'm not sure what the law is in Germany (?), but in here I can plug anything in that is CE marked. This was CE marked, but of course that is not a guarantee of anything. Anyway, thanks for writing to me and I think it is good to spot fakes and tell others about them so they don't drop in the same trap. Even though I didn't lose any money, the time and hassle with all of this is unnecessary waste. I hope to see a webpage from you with all the products, I'm more than interested :)

The larger scale looks sketchy as hell, yes. (No positioning plastic pieces, really?). I do agree that the thin KA-500 scale looks legit. I just bought a SINO DRO package from SHARS in the US, I'm pretty sure it is real, and my KA-500 scale looks 100% like yours in the video (except mine is 220mm model). I'm not sure what you mean by "except it is missing its unique serial number seal" - I don't think I have any extra seals on mine either. And the numbers below the bar code, on both the reader and the scale pieces, are the unique serial number, I believe. But mine did come with a test certificate. My set came with an English manual; it's not written by a native English speaker, but it's ok - and hey, I'm not a native speaker either... But yeah, I was looking at the offerings on eBay too - and eventually decided to buy from a bigger company.

Does the reader have a holographic sticker on the back of it? I heard someone say all the authentic SINO models are supposed to have it
