Very recently, the bhop cap has been removed from CZDS in BXT, enabling us to "emulate" the Mac version of the game, meaning bhopping for days.
A bit of context: fruich got a very big WR while I was performing this run, and then out of nowhere I got this run right after. Insanity.
This game, although frustrating at times, is a really fun run and thinking of it, had this game been released earlier, it wouldn't be thought of as a cheesy late-to-the-party letdown that is the general perspective on it.

Sup, unless I'm completely mistaken about where you found this out from, I believe I was the one responsible for the discovery of Mac bhopping in this game, sometime over 5 years ago. The fact that there are actually some runs for the category now after so long is awesome to see!! Out of curiosity what is BXT (what you mentioned in description)? I'm not knowledgeable about this speedrunning stuff but I'm curious.

It's a speedrunning tool we use to hook into Half-Life to mainly autorecord demos and have a load time remover, but there is a ton more usage for it like TASing and segmenting. Thankfully, it can be used with some tweaking to hook into any goldsrc game, including CZDS, which in this case is crucial to emulate Mac/Linux versions of the game.

This is not even a question of Steam version or not, this setting basically emulates the Linux/MacOS versions of the game.

@@rocke907 Download BXT and disable bxt_bhopcap. github.com/YaLTeR/BunnymodXT/releases DO NOT connect to any servers with it.
