Little things like the debris sprites from hitting the wall and the impactful ricochet sounds, being able to add or remove a silencer on the fly, character mouths moving when a player talks over the mic... These are things you rarely if ever saw with FPS games afterwards. Love CS!

You can see few reload animation that shows the hand reloading with the same mag. Especially when you look down.

Interesting that this stone-age game has better reload animations than many new games. Yes, there are certain mistakes here and there like using the M4 forward assist as a charging handle. I mean specifically animation quality.

Even if the M4 had wrong reloading animation it was so satisfying to watch

Extremely obvious fact: the animator Minh Le was left handed, so initially at the beginning, all the weapons were animated being holded with the left hand. When Counter Strike first released, Minh didn't want to reanimate the weapons and instead mirrored them (and thus the mirror viewmodel option existed). Only exceptions to the viewmodel mirrors are FAMAS and P90 (possibly due to the FAMAS IRL being able to change shell ejecting direction without further modifications and the sides of botb weapons looking extremely similar), the G3 series (G3SG1 & MP5), UMP-45, AUG and M249 (due to the weapons having been incorrectly animated to show the left-hand side from Beta).

Good job doing a video focused on gun sounds on a map with the shittiest echo ever.

This really makes me feel nostalgic. I remember playing this Freshman year of High School. It's the reason I didn't do so well the 2nd semester lol. I used to play mainly as terrorist to be honest, this game was made 2 years before 9/11, but it was one of so many Half-Life mods to begin with. I actually stopped playing games by the time they had an actual game with it's own engine. I remember towards the end of playing I used to use hacks to make all the CT's Ronald McDonald, taking 'advantage' of friendly fire, and when it wasn't enabled, I would play Dust as a CT and throw flash bangs at that dark room you could take as a shortcut to the bomb. It made people SO angry I remember and it made me crack up so hard haha. People were so serious, it made it even funnier. Like I'd totally blow my squads cover (between 3-5 people would go that way) by shooting off my M4 and throwing flash bangas in there after backing out of the room ahhahah. Oh man I had so much fun with this game. I'm trying to remember so hard what the 'broken' sniper rifle was. It was like a one shot kill if you got a head shot and it was super accurate/super easy to get head shots. Was it the SG550? Someone help me here haha, anyone that was in their teens in the late 90's/early 2000's has to know what I'm talking about.

I have to admit, 1.6 didn't age well. The graphics are memorable and it's a classic but the guns have unbearably high recoil and the bots are fucking insane even on Easy difficulty. GO is much easier than 1.6. Not to mention that the CT's have a more OP arsenal than the Terrorists.

i wouldn't say that easy bots are insane, if i remember correctly, after seeing an enemy, they would take like 1 or 2 seconds to aim and then fire, which is a lot of time to react, though they may react instantly if they see a friend die, also they sucked at long range, they fired full auto all the time, but you are right on your other points, i got used to most of its faults, but still i wont deny they are faults still, sorry for english

I've read that the viewmodels are mirrored, which means the original models had the guns modeled correctly, but the player was left-handed. So, they mirrored the models to cater for the right-handed majority of players.

i think the only part that is bad of CS 1.6 is that the guns won’t automatically reload when you have no bullets left in the clip/magazine. It will just make a sound telling you that you have no more ammo in the current magazine.
