Counter Clipping and Storage 2 -What happens after the Box Openings
How can you get all those game counters back in the box? I show you some of the ways I am doing that after doing a number of box openings. I have a system of getting all those counters back in the box.

I might look into the Fiskars rotary cutter. I have a pair of their shears. They are the bees knees for scissors, razor fricking sharp and cut nearly anything.

@@NerdWorkshop1 that is encouraging :) Sometimes using a box cutter is hard on the hands after a bit.

I guess I had good luck with my Oregon Laminations 2mm Deluxe clipper. I heard that the handles break, so I prepurchase a second one for when the first one broke. Murphy's Law; the first one never even showed any signs of being close to breaking. I've kept it well "oiled" with silicone lubricant. It's still going strong after quite a few years, with a reserve clipper waiting impatiently in the "on deck circle", lol. GMT trays are my go to, but I label all the pockets for ease of set up and tear down. Holy Smokes, those custom trays look terrific! I really do think it's important to have the games organized, especially for new players. Excessive set up and sorting time, in my experience, is and can be a game killer right out of the gates! When I get a new game, I do the same thing, I guess you can call it "prepping" the game for play. Great vid!🍻

I like that Robert, "Prepping for game play" But I do believe I my over prep :). I agree, if you have a spare, the original one never breaks.

Thanks for showing this. I'm not a big fan of DIY myself so found that I tend to use a single GMT tray (or e.g. 2 in Pacific War) and excess counters (usually generic control markers) go in baggies that fit at the space to the side of a map. Managed to fit both games in with no pressure on the lid. I also prefer metal handle counter clipper - find it really therapeutic to do so tend to clip counters for a friend of mine, too😁

I would recommend doing a pre-emptive mod to the deluxe clipper, drilling down the top handle where it will break and insert a steel nail with epoxy.

I got the same clipper, it broke. I found out the return spring is to heavy, changed it, then I glued the broken parts together, drilled a hole top to bottom, and put a screwon top, and a nut on the bottom, it's lasted 4 years.

Great video. Very helpful. I just received this same game today and have purchased the 2mm deluxe corner trimmer. Is that Fiskars rotary cutter the 45mm blade type? I think I will run down to WallyWorld or Hobby Lobby to get one of those. It appears to work well.
