In today's English lesson, Grammar man explains the difference between countable and uncountable nouns.
The reason it is important to know the difference between these two types of nouns, is because different grammar rules apply to each.
Some common countable nouns include the following:
dog, cat, chairs, table, etc.
Some common uncountable nouns include the following:
information, advice, money, furniture, luggage, music etc.
Countable nouns can be counted, and therefore have a plural form. You can also use the singular article a/an with countable nouns.
Uncountable nouns cannot be counted and therefore do not have a plural form. Uncountable nouns cannot use the singular article.
Countable and uncountable nouns use different quantifiers.
For example, many students incorrectly use 'much' with countable nouns, and say things like, 'there weren't much people in class today.'
This is a common error.
Instead, the correct word choice would be 'many'.
In today's lesson, Grammar man covers a lot of quantifiers that can be used only with countable nouns (a few, a number of, etc), and a lot of quantifiers that can only be used with uncountable nouns (a bit, lots of, etc) Importantly, there are a group of quantifiers that work with either countable or uncountable nouns, and these are explained in today's English grammar lesson (some, all, enough, any, etc).
All this, and lots more is explained in today's English lesson.

Australian accent isn't similar to the British or the American ones but equally interesting. If I'm not mistaken ''a lot of'' is more formal than ''lots of'' Thanks
