Ferdy Mayne was asked for many years by girls if he could bite their necks. Needless to say, it was one of his favourite roles.

To me his the closest to CHRISTOPHER LEE in portraying DRACULA he also look like a real COUNT just like LEE in his lone VAMPIRE ROLE

My guess is that what he wanted to parody, ain`t it? Since thins movie was a parody of "Dracula" from top to bottom :D

We Poles sound like that too, if we don`t try too hard to get this pan global shitty accent that everyone "has to have", to not stand out too much. I think it is down right sexy and has spring, and energy to it... Especially when you pit it against some English accents, when people sound, like they have partial paralysis of throat and tonuge :P

@@heretyk_1337 "shitty accent that everyone has to have"? How would Polish sound to you if someone was speaking it with a foreign accent? Attractively different? I think the beauty of a language is in its native most original sound.

Its a pity though that you didn't get the first bit of his speech where he taunts our two heros. Mayne was brilliant as the vampire count. Its a pity that Von Krolock never got to appear in more films as he was a great vampire count. Funny though in Dance of the Vampires that Polanski never used any special effects when he had such a massive budget to play with. Would love the full battlement scene.

This other-worldly, menacing film has several such riveting scenes with Ferdy that suggest what Polanski could have accomplished with a serious treatment of Stoker's novel. Even the opening scene with the wolves stalking the sled fills you with dread for what is to come.
