Could You Live in This Luxury Bus WITHOUT Slides? 2003 Monaco Royale
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
IMPORTANT UPDATE!! Looks like I got the year incorrect and this is really a 2003 Royale, I am sorry for the confusion and will try to address it shortly.
Until then please disregard the incorrect year in the video, I called it a 2003 and then doubted myself so it is my fault and not Doug Sewell or Sewell Motorcoach.
Today I am back at Sewell Motorcoach inspecting this 2003 Monaco Royale Bus Conversion on a Prevost XL2 chassis. I know a lot of people comment that they are looking for a bus with no slides so I thought this might be worth looking at. Did I mention that Monaco builds these Royale's quite a bit different that most bus converters, and I find them easier to work on and service and update too.
I also appreciate the cabinetry and more simple interior design compared to many of the "over the top" bus conversions.
Please contact Doug or his team at sewellmotorcoach.com with any questions.
Thanks for watching!!

Oh lordy she's a beauty, no slides, PERFECT! In my dreams.
Love the no slides. Good looking rig.
That thing is a much better value than a new motorhome. Surprised it doesn’t have a door between the bedroom and bathroom. If it were me, do the TV’s, the awning, skip the color change and put that $$$ to some solar.

Thanks, you too!
2003 is a coach for the man that does not mind to be doing consistent maintenance and repairs. But the less systems the less trouble I have learned. Happy travels, cheers 😅
It was very nice and pretty roomy even with no slides. And no slide problems.
If a Detroit isn't leaking, it has NO oil in it. Be sure to watch the temperature when driving, They DO NOT like to be run hot. Remember that a bus of this size and age needs to have the suspension looked at as the air bags are rubber and that deteriorates with age, plus the usual brakes and suspension maintenance that is HEAVY DUTY work that will cost if the work was deferred. Plan on spending $10,000 on maintenance. Don't rely on anyone else saying that it is all OK.

Yep. Looks like a money pit to me.
Excellent presentation. Thank you. I quite honestly do no want slides on my RV or Camper, ever.
James, Your on target and zeroed in nicely. Great video and second to none.
That's a dandy. Nice tour James!
What a beautiful coach! Thanks for sharing!
Wow I was not expecting that price to be anywhere close to that…
Great commentary 👌

Glad you enjoyed it
Seems nicer lay outs without slides.
No slides is the way to go.
11:11 "Geezz you guys want everything" .... Gold lol
We were in Alpine ,Texas, "Lost Alaskan RV Park" for the full eclipse. There was plentiful available spaces, no traffic. As full timers, this is our kind of place, 5,900 population, 4,500' elevation, 3 blinking red lights, and nice fairly new grocery store about as big as a large Safeway. (purchased a package of three cardboard eclipse glasses, $2.50) We obtained a larger motor home in Quartzite in January. All sites are pull through and easily fit the 40' RV with tow. About 90 mi north of "Big Bend Nationjal Park". Bob & Melodee + the pups, Holly and Wyatt

What does this have to do with this Monaco Royals?
My mechanic eyeballs spotted mismatched belts on the AC compressor...and the oil leak? But hey, it's still a beautiful coach. Thanks for the tour James.
good morning mr z. long time watcher first time caller. you gave me the knowhow and confidence to properly repair a 5x10 spot with quite a few soft spots. im going to redo whole roof next spring. anyways, ive got a 1996 steel frame gulfstream 32 ft class A with 460 on the f 53 chassis and im just curious if i could pull a car on a trailer weighing 7500 lbs.
Not that I can afford one, but they are beautiful. I do have a 1990 Overland Discovery Express that was a very nice RV when built. I looked for mine because it didn't have slide.
😂 I’ve been looking at this rig on the website and wondering about its condition. Now I know ty
Yes! I love no slides.
No slides, no problem!
Yes, I sure could.
Brilliant review James and some solid insights. I’m not sure why there’s no bedroom slide or door was there any evidence that it was removed? It’s certainly not a bargain as it does need some work beyond that mentioned in the video. I really like that it’s without slides that is a great benefit for parking up during the travels. It needs a better second bed as the current sofa looks like a torture bed. Given the mileage and taking everything into consideration including the industry struggles I think it’s expensive but it’s worth whatever someone is willing to pay. I love your inspections and wouldn’t buy anything without knowing that you have carried out an inspection. See you soon 💫

It's common on these motor coaches not to have bedroom doors, sadly I only have an accordian "bedroom door" on my motorhome so I never use it either.
Love that one .... hydraulic bed lift... hmmm.just figured out i may have a safe...going to go balence that bed on my head and check....
R on the door is for Robin. 😂
Hi. Great video thank you. Are there any other pre-2010 non-slide Class As diesel pushers even bus conversion companies that you recommend? Thank you 🙏
Those split windshields used to be crazy cheap around $150. Better than a huge 1 piece.
❤It.
I’ve been looking for a quality built class A, with no slides. The only ones currently made are the low end, no frills type. Didn’t know this existed. Will have to look into it. Think it’s way overpriced! Needs a new couch to get rid of the geriatric dust mites, and a new bathroom faucet, but otherwise looks great.
🇨🇦lmpressive room nice.
Slide outs will cause trouble eventually.
The best rigs have no slides

I have to disagree…. Used to think that way until I had slides yes they have their issues but you can’t beat them… it’s like going back to baby food from solid food… once you’ve seen the difference you just can’t live without it…

I have a prevost xl with no slides. Only issue is the bed is too short for a 6’2” guy.

Geez, that impressive!!!
I kinda regret swaping my no slides Winnebago Luxor for my 3 slide Monaco Knight...I mean, the Monaco is beautiful and love it too but is not as flexible use as the non slide ones.
What is your opinion on 2017 Pleasure way xltd model. Iknow this is off topic.
6 batteries! Sheeeesh
By the looks of the TV’s I believe it’s closer to a 2000
I could. However, I continue to read that campgrounds don't allow RVs over 10 years old. Regardless, it's an impressive coach.

If you contact them and send a picture of your unit, we have never had one turn us down.
This one is very nice. If it were only a 40-foot, and a bit less pricy.
Hi James I know it's off topic but I don't recall you ever doing a review of a safari? I'm looking at a 1999 Serengeti and from what I've researched they're similar to your Beaver I was wondering what you thought
@AZExpert

I think a did a trek and a few installs like a AGS on a Safari. They are nice and owned Beaver so there was a lot of crossover in the builds. Overall they chassis and roofs are the biggest difference nice units but I like Beaver better.
👍🙏😎
Someone bucking for a raise on inspections, lol.
AZ Expert. Are you inspecting it for a Buyer? How much does that cost?
@AZExpert

No, I inspected it for Sewell Motorcoach as a first inspection for the dealership. I think he is asking $269,000
Gotta say… the filming of you on the edge of the roof gives me the willies … or vertigo… be careful and don’t fall. 😬
Don't trust those coolant sight glasses -- especially on something that old. They get stained over time, and even though it might be an acceptable color, it may not actually indicate that there is any liquid inside!
Hello, Im looking for an motorhome dealer in Northern California, Oregon, Nevada, or Washington...Any recommendations?
How much is it
Sorry, but I need more than eight feet . But still a great looking coach.
High price!

Thanks for the Royal coach preview. I like how you inspect RV’s. Unfortunately, I would never buy a bus from a snake oil salesman.
I don’t believe that is a 2006 Royale. The body style is older IMO.
