    I have enormous respect for your dedication Howard. I animate characters in after effects or c4d. It's a lot of work but compared to frame by frame artists, that is a alot more challenging. But it's my favourite look for characters. It always has more of a human touch

    This was motivating. I'm honestly hoping I can animate one minute at least for my short film till June. Having a spreadsheet actually helped a lot. I write there time I start and end and it's kind of a cue to start and stop animating.

    That spreadsheet is so relatable. The struggle is real with personal projects. I find because I have to direct and review client projects with our team I barely make time for personal projects and so some things just take way longer than I'd like. Nice to know I'm not alone. Looking forward to the short film.

    To treat every shot as a money shot can result in more work and worries, but it can also make the process more enjoyable. There are scenes, that are necessary for the story or pacing, but boring to animate and not memorable for the viewer. So I try to add something unique to every shot, that makes it worth watching even out of context. Drawing in-betweens is tedieous grunt work, but I wouldn´t feel comfortable to outsource them. Animating pose to pose tends to look robotic. Usually I start sketching straight ahead on a very low framerate to get the motion flow well. These sketches become keyframes, which are very close to each other. The in-betweens is, where you breathe life into the characters, you can add so much secondary action and adjust the timing. Also I like to animate the follow through elements on a second pass completely staight ahead.

    Thanks for sharing your process! Always interesting to find out when my process is the same as yours. I also find that straight ahead with far apart spacing is my favourite workflow. There are many opportunities to work nuance and movement detail into the inbetweens (do they stop being inbetweens then??😂) But if I have to outsource inbetweening, I can express quite a lot by dictating the timing and key poses..

    The second time I heard a line that " you should have a team to do the work that you wanted, so you can utilize this time into other productive work, instead of doing it for Days by yourself "and now it's hit my brain. First time I heard it from an Indian Investor.

    It's multiple revenue streams all to do with animation. - Animation production - I source / oversee teams to create the project for my client - Animation commissions - I personally create animation / images for clients - Consulting for clients - advising on things like software pipelines for their teams - KZread / google ad revenue - Sponsorship deals with brands - Affiliate marketing - Online downloads (of resources like my tvpaint brush packs) - Licensing deals - Enrollment fees for my online courses.. Etc.. so I try to diversify a lot in case one of the methods fail.

  • @HowardWimshurst

    that's what i have been trying this week 😂 been trying to start each day with 10 drawings (can be inbetweens or keyframes) before I eat any breakfast. My hunger creates an urgency and so far it has been quite good at starting my day right. After that, I'm aiming for 5 hours of pen-on-screen time per day - which is surprisingly hard, even when i have nothing else going on. I use OBS screen recorder to keep track

    How you make your stories?

  • @halidramzan2803

    @halidramzan2803

    Жыл бұрын

    I'm still figuring this out for myself. But I'll let you know what I've found so far. Observ life! But in order to do this you have to have a life. You need to get out of your comfort zone and explore the world around you. You'll be surprised to find out just how many like minded people you'll find. Be intentional and brave about it. Use all your life experiences to fuel your story ideas. You don't know everything. So if you're writing about a surfer for example, and you can't surf. Find a surfer. Make friends with them and learn everything you can about surfing. That includes how to do it. And by the end, your story idea will have evolved in to an authentic story. There's a lot more to this but that's for you to go out and find out for yourself. Good luck! ❤️‍🔥
