As an Indian, It fascinates me. America is one of the most Prosperous and Developed Nations in the world, Yet doesn't let its Women decide what to do with their own Bodies. Even in Third World India, Whether to abort one's baby isa Personal descision left to the Mother alone.

This is about BODILY AUTONOMY BODILY AUTONOMY !!! If you cant be forced to put your life at risk and in danger and be forced to donate your blood or organs or body to your born child or to anyone else then what makes you think a woman can be forced to do it for a fetus ? Bodily autonomy is a human right. - Bodily autonomy means that no one , including a fetus , has the right to touch , take or use your blood , organs or body without your permission . Even if your BORN child needs a blood or organ donation and you are the only match on earth you still can not be forced to donate . Even once you are dead no one can touch , take or use your blood , organs or body without your consent . It is absolutely sickening that some people think that pregnant girls/women should have less rights and say over their blood , organs and body than a damn corpse has . I dont understand how a fetus is given rights that no one else has , including born children . Anyone who thinks that girls/women lose their bodily autonomy when they become pregnant needs to have their bodily autonomy taken away , they need to be forced to donate as much blood as possible every month , they need to be forced to donate a kidney , they need to be forced to donate a piece of liver , they need to be forced to donate a piece of lung , they need to be forced to donate a piece of intestine , they need to be forced to donate spinal fluid , all at their own expense of course . Just think of how many lives would be saved , after all , they claim it is about saving lives and that every life matters . smdh

im surprised there's such positive reaction to the last few minutes... i love my fair share of 'pop culture' references in the news (like when the abc unknowingly played undertale's ost) but i just felt that editing was super over the top and distracting - could barely pay attention to john speak. it's what i'd expect to see in an average youtube short or tiktok not an abc programme. and i was born in the early 2000's!

@@TraceMcnamara-sf9zo There ARE limits , less that 2% of abortions (before all the ridiculous bans that are causing abortions to happen later ) are done past 20 weeks and they are done for valid medical reason , either the life of the Mother is at stake or the fetus is viable . Do you actually think that women just sit around being pregnant for 6 or 7 or 8 months and then just wake up one morning and say "Gee I think I've changed my mind , I think I will skip down to my local late term abortion clinic for a quick easy peasy no questions asked late term abortion for no reason "? Seriously ? SMDH

Pretty sure there was something a few years ago that made media companies responsible for whatever's said in the comments on their social media posts. So, most leave comments open for as long as they can have someone around to moderate them, and then close them once that period expires.

I honestly dont understand why so many people dont get that it is a personal decision and that every girl/woman MUST have the right and the ability to make the decision that is best for her and her circumstances based on her health issues and her beliefs . I am 54 yrs old , I will never be pregnant again so it will not personally affect me But I understand that it isnt just about me or my beliefs or my circumstances or what my choice would be . Are you and so many others so self absorbed , arrogant and self centered that you only think about yourself and think that only you and your choices and beliefs matter and that you should have the right to force your choice and beliefs onto others?

I am moved by the pro-abortion advert showing the grieving couple. We were in a similar situation with our daughter. Our experience compels me to make 3 points. Firstly, we chose not to abort our baby, despite the risks and the pressure of staff to abort. The glorious minutes we held our baby before she died were worth all the pain and trauma. We met Sarah, our firstborn! Nothing can take away that joy. Secondly, based on the information provided, the real villain is the hospital. We were in hospital for 3 weeks from the time our baby's waters broke to the time of her birth. The fact that this couple was sent home instead of being cared for seems like either incompetence or gross negligence. Lastly, I find it extremely offensive that such a moment of raw grief should be used in an attack political advert. What a mean cheap thing to do. In summary, times like knowing you are probably going to lose your baby are powerful and deeply emotional times. They are moments that should be treated with care and respect. Personal tragedies should not be used in such a cold heartless way. Our grief and our babies deserve better.

You were lucky that your life was not at risk from continuing the pregnancy. A whole host of women have died. You were lucky enough that your fertility was not going to be damaged permanently by continuing the pregnancy. A lot of other women are having their choices of having children taken away from them.
