Could the death of Iran's President have been 'deliberate'? | LBC analysis
After Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, was killed in a helicopter crash, Shelagh Fogarty speaks to Efrat Sopher, Chair of the Board of Advisors at the Ezri Center for Iran and Gulf States Research, to find out more.
Iran has declared five days of public mourning after Raisi's death. The crash happened close to Iran's border with Azerbaijan, where Raisi had been meeting Azerbaijan's President, Ilham Aliyev.
Raisi's funeral will take place on May 21st, 2024, and all cultural activities have been cancelled for the next week.
Mohammad Mokhber has been appointed as acting president, while Bagheri Kani, who had been serving as deputy foreign minister, has now been made foreign minister.

Netanyahu is very far far away from not having committed war crimes. If he wants to challenge that, he can appear in court and make his case. Not agreeing to appear is admitting guilt and hiding.

@@tomcharles8786 they don't have to be "signatories", if there is an arrest warrant that's valid. The ICC has the jurisdiction regardless of Israel being an ICC state party.

Accident waiting to happen in all honesty, the helicopter was 1960s vintage for starters and with the sanctions, Iran has not been able to get any modern equipment like helicopters. Israel has denied all involvement ( I do believe them on this), weather and terrain caused the crash.
