Could Liz Truss be ousted this week?

The game is up for Liz Truss, that's the verdict of one former Tory minister and not the message the prime minister will want to hear, hours before the markets open in Asia.
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has insisted Liz Truss is in charge, in an effort to calm the markets and quell backbench disquiet.
But with the average Labour lead in opinion polls now 26 points, the Tories will be doing all they can to stave off the prospect of another general election.

If the Tories were at 90% approval ratings does that mean they could suspend elections and govern as long as they want? Funny how to people like you elections should only be called when the governing party has low approval ratings.

I work in a Junior school. We ask that if a child makes a mistake they say sorry. We praise them for doing this and hope they learn from the mistake. These children show more empathy and humility than liz truss and most politicians around the world. Until truss openly says 'Sorry' to ALL the people who are losing money because of her stupid mini-budget she proves to me that she is a husk of a human being and doesn't care about any of the normal working people of the UK.

@@angelametcalfe9142 oh please angie spare me the sound bites......sunak was an ultra Conservative ring wing pro-brexiteer (more than Truss) who saw the fallacy of implementing tax cuts at this critical period in time when deficits and high prices were tethering close to inflation. He advised patience and caution. In fact his views on this was the principal fallout reason with Boris Johnson who wanted tax cuts and engineered his loss to truss. But some how all people could see was that brown skin, not his ideas as they did with Boris in spite of his backstabbing (of his predecessor) public lies and manipulation (which came to roast under his tenure as pm). Angie what pains me the most is that liz has thrown Kwateng (not a fan) under the bus for implementing her foolishness and pigheadedness of a plan....all that but to appoint Hunt who validated Sunaks vision for the UK. I'm not a tory in any shape or form, and neither am I a blm or woke propagandists. I just call it when I see it. And right now what I see is the UK Conservative party that who go out of its way to back foolishness in white skin to its own detriment. Only to backtrack and adopt the same policies Mr brown skin cautioned about. Good news is that tories will get routed in the next election by labour. The Brexit gig is up. Biden nailed it with an unusual intervention to say Truss has erred seriously all said casually while eating an ice cream. He even gave up making his point because the ice cream was more appetising than wasting time talking about the disaster movie unfolding in Britain. Classic. Halfon's point about libertarian jihadists to describe the government's recent behaviour will go down in the history books and be remembered.

The problem is that the conservatives hold a majority and would get wiped out in a general election. While they could call a vote of no confidence or call for a general election, it wouldn't be in their interest to do so. If they do kick her out it would be back to their members again to vote on a new party leader. The same members who just elected Liz Truss. Tough situation.

The problem is, the Fiscal plan didn't go far enough. It needed to be supported by a very big, very unpopular and very controversial cut - on the scale of making the State Pension means tested. Whatever the cut, the UK has to stop borrowing at the rate it is, the problem is getting bigger and bigger by the day. We cannot and must not continue to pass the burden on to future generations, this generation already has an awful lot to answer for.

She needs more time, Issue is most of MP don’t like to be she selected does way they want to undermine her position. King Charles should speak up against this madness and show Liz truss the exit route and to give rishi sunak a chance to fix the economy and the reputation of the country.
