Could Lee Yong Dae be a singles player? vs LEGEND Peter Gade

Exhibition match between Peter Gade and Lee Yong Dae. Legend vs Legend. It's quite funny how Lee Yong Dae struggles, but he is still quite competent. Also quite inspiring to watch both legends on court. Enjoy the video, and make sure to subscribe for more quality badminton content ;)

Professional doubles players are still great single players comparing to the average, amateur players, but professional single players will destroy them quite easily.

LYD obviously has a very heavy footwork..take a look carefully..and when he was in his defensive stance, notice that he is slightly behind at the court which would be usual position a doubles player would be.. i dont see how he is faster..he is maybe a little tired or that's his natural footwork

Against a professional singles player? NO! but against a player who is below Pro-level, maybe he can win. Although male doubles players have good defense and powerful attacks, they might be easily taken off by an experienced single player due to their witty placement shots (full use of the court), deceptive shots, and endurance (I gotta tell single players can endure longer rallies than doubles player). My humble opinion only :) xx
