Could Fantasy Movies like The Dark Crystal Be Part of the Star Wars Universe? [Part 1]
Ойын-сауық
#darkcrystal #starwarstheory
You know i had to plan this video for May 25th; Star Wars' official birthday! So in this topic/theory video i'd like to discuss how Dark Crystal, along with other fantasy movies like Labyrinth and The NeverEnding story, might actually be part of the same universe. There are so many similarities, so let's take a look at some interesting notions!

Hope you all enjoy this topic! I'm planning a part 2 for this as well because there are just so many other theories and connections surrounding this subject. Next video will be focused on only the Dark Crystal & Star Wars. Be sure to leave all of your ideas under this comment, and you may see it in part 2! Please don't forget to leave a like before you leave!

What if the Castle of Crystal guard’s revolt plan succeeded?
Ooh, the disagreeing arguing but yet mutual respected conversations Mother Augra and Old Yoda would have for each other.

Well, Frank Oz puppetter both characters so... YEAH! I´ll be awesome! Then again he also did Miss Piggy... Oh no... there goes our philosophical debate out of the window. HAHAHAHA!

I always imagined that Thra was an undiscovered planet in the real world. And that the UrSkeks could someday arrive on Earth.

@@lisadooley3872 That's amazing!
I don't really see Labyrinth or Neverending Story fitting in the SW universe, but Dark Crystal and especially Willow do feel like they could take place on different planets. I think Krull could too, which makes sense given its ripoffiness (and seeing Liam Neeson in the cast helps)

Definitely Krull too, for sure!
I can see the world of Thra being in the Star Wars universe. I mean, we don't know where in the universe Augra went to before Age of Resistance.
Labyrinth and Neverending Story were very contemporary. Star Wars happened in a galaxy long ago, so that whole saga is actually HISTORICAL. Dark Crystal - possibly. I wondered why Disney didn’t pick it up, they’d have saved it.

Disney owns the Muppets, so the Dark Crystal would have been theirs.

@@VikingMale Disney only owns the core non-Sesame Street Muppet characters. Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Fraggle Rock, and all other Henson IPs (except Sesame) are still owned by The Jim Henson Company. I'm more surprised Apple didn't pick up the Dark Crystal show, considering how many other Henson shows they already produce.
Thad for posting again
As someone who is a big fan of crossovers, I love this concept. I could very well imagine Thra being part of the Star Wars universe.
I would 100% imagine a Skeksis appearing in many locations in the Star Wars world, like in the council meetings with other CIS figureheads, or in the tables and seats of the Cantina and Jabba's Palace
The Star Wars saga has a weird connection to Earth. On Episode 1 theres the E.T. cameo at the senators scene. On E.T.s movie our alien friend seems to identify yodas species at the halloween scene when he sees a boy wearing a Yodas costume. So, its very posible Thra is a world on the Star Wars universe.
The Dark Crystal would be the most likely. I could see it existing in the Unknown Regions, with the UrSeks being of the same species as the Father Daughter and Son of Mortis.
Not a fan of multiverse theory but I do like the cross examination of all these for similar themes and styles (The hero's journey, 80s dark fantasy, etc)
That explains why Grogu has Grottan eyes. HMMMMMmmmmm.....
That would be neat
If George Lucas still owned his property I would probably think he'd loved the idea.
Cool.
Awesome video 👍
I have thought this for the longest time. Glad to see a video on it.
Good to see ya again 👋 26.5.24
80s dark fantasy is some of the best of the best
Entertaining notion. Perhaps there could be a world-between-worlds or even a multiverse connection. But I don't think they would exist directly in the same universe.
That's it. We need Gelfling Jedi!
Years ago, I screen shot a map called 'The Fantasy World Map'. It includes: Krull, Narnia,Never Never Land, Thra, Wonderland, Whoville, Middle Earth, Fantasia, Labyrinth, Westeros, Lilliput, Utopia, Oz, Terabethia, Avalon (Camelot), Florin, Dinotopia, Where the Wild Things Are, Land of the Lost, Dreamlands, Moomin Valley, Kadath, Hyrule, Sodor & Lidsville. Thra has Moomin Valley & Terabithia to the north. Labyrinth to the East. Fantasia to the west and Kadath to the south. No Star Wars anywhere on the map, so, no not apart of same universe, sorry guys😢. No Darkened Deet to face off against 'darkside Anakin.' Tho Lore may run into a Luck Dragon😂.

That's so cool, i love that!
Intriguing, frankly I think that is the case after all, why would it be called Universal Studios? ...But beyond the joke, I actually agree that magic is like poetry: The story is the same, what really changes is its meaning that is given to it...
The new telescope has discovered a world that actually has three stars in its sky like Thra and they have even found planets that orbit four or five stars in their skies so if there’s a planet system that orbits three stars then there’s our real life Thra!!! I don’t know if we’ll ever find intelligent beings out there because we have yet to discover that but I do think that it’s a big possibility that we’ll find at least plant and animal species somewhere!!!
One can also add farscape to that theory

Since John Chrichton mentioned The Skeksis, yes... at least The Dark Crystal being a MOVIE in the Farscape universe, meaning Farscape's reality is closer to ours.
Technically, Starwars and Dark Crystal already share a universe, because they are both supposed to take place in OUR universe. Every starwars film begins with "A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away". And in the Dark Crystal compendium it is written from the perspective of an Oxford professor meeting Augra Edit: sorry for the spelling errors, English isn't my first language, and I just woke up when I initially commented

@@DreamfastwithMeI agree with the person who made this original comment, but to expand on what you said in your video about Star Wars being an entire galaxy, there are actually multiple galaxies that have been shown to exist. Recently in the Ahsoka show as part of the current canon and I imagine there is probably travel to other galaxies in George Lucas' older legends canon.
@birthdefectthehedgehog3461

@@Minipsil I am not sure about the old canon, but I am pretty sure there is a comic out there where Han Solo and Chewie get lost in a like a wormhole and end up crashlanding the millennium falcon on planet earth, where their bodies and ship would later be discovered by none other than Indiana fucking Jones, that one is sadly part of legends
