Are you kidding? Anybody? You mean at 155, right? Even then, people thought Rousey was unbeatable, but she was very beatable. Khabib is a higher evolution than Rousey, but he is still one dimensional. Ground is very powerful so that in and of itself makes Khabib tough. I think Charles could beat Khabib. Charles' striking is by far superior, and he is good enough on the ground to slow Khabib down. Charles beat both Poirier and Gaethje quite a bit faster than Khabib did. Charles has a very good chance.

@@rsm2342 Khabib beats both Geahje and porier without a drop of single sweat not talk of bleed. He literally went through them like they were just amateurs unlike oliviera that was knocked down thrice by porier and twice by Justin. If only they have a solid ground game they would’ve gotten the finish. But With Khabib they just seem clueless, hopeless. They were just there but they had no idea how to neutralize him unlike with Oliveira where there is probable way of taken him out by KO.

@@abdulmt3632 I agree. However, khabib was put into a guillotine choke by Poirier. If that was Charles, Khabib might have been done. Besides Khabib is not a good stand up fighter. He has had some decent strikes but he is sloppy. He has very little chance on his feet against Charles. I think Khabib would probably win but Charles is very dangerous.

Abel trujillo took him down and Tibau took him down and back when he was fighting those russians; he used to get taken down quite a bit. But thing is, no one really was able to control or put Khabib into real trouble on the ground because Khabib puts on like a Charlie Olives-esque pace from his back. He's pretty aggressive off of his back (watch when Trujillo took him down)

Honestly, not against Oliveira but anybody, I just cant imagine Khabib losing any fight. That is what says everything about his greatness and dominance. LW GOAT.

He is vulnerable to guillotines and flying knees because he puts his head on his opponent when he goes for takedowns or trips. Charles is way more slippery than anyone he has faced in the UFC. Khabib's level changes are lightning quick. Hard to stop even when everyone knows what is coming.

​@@munglangel9251 Khamzat's and Khabib's grappling aren't the same at all. Khabib is a combat sambo practitioner while Khamzat is a freestyle wrestler. Combat sambo is much more useful for top control, ground and pound, and submissions that freestyle wrestling is.

Sambo doesn't skip over anything. It covers the wrestling, it covers the Judo (your foot sweeps, hip tosses, etc), and it covers your ne-waza (ground techniques/BJJ/Judo parenthood to modern BJJ). Khabib couldn't win a BJJ tournament at the level of say Roger Gracie, Marcelo Garcia, Andre Galvao, etc. However, he's as good as is applicable in MMA. The thing is, he's better at wrestling and Judo than most BJJ purists in MMA, AND he absolutely knows when just smashing is more efficient and effective than trying to advance or finish with a submission. He is why they say top position is ABSOLUTELY the better place to be. Because you can always use your "ground and pound" to advance or even open up a submission.

Fighters know fighters and these two are the for me to be the most best and most rounded fighters in their respective divisions (not dissing adesanya or Holloway btw). Khabib would take him down control him easily and smash him. Look what happened with RDA v khabib, rda got ragdolled and dominated despite being a more rounded fighter that Oliveira and who actually is one degree higher ranked black belt than Oliveira too (rda 4th degree currently, Oliveira 3rd deg). Look how khabib got out of that choke hold by rda without serious problems. Renzo gracie wasnt joking when he said he can't see any bjj guy at that weight beating khabib (after training with him at Renzo's gym) you telling me Renzo dont know his own specialty ?

RDA is not a more well-rounded fighter than Oliveira is mate. Oliveira's Muay Thai is far more technical and his wrestling ability is slightly better. And degree of black belt means virtually nothing. RDA has 4 submission victories in the UFC and was recently submitted by Cowboy in a grappling match, while Oliveira has the record for most submissions in UFC history. Even RDA would agree that Oliveira is a much more dangerous submission threat than himself

Khabib is overrated he only fought strikers and was too scared to face any big challenges like Usman Covington Oliveira he is a great fighter but can't hold a candle to guys like Jon Jones, GSP, Silva and demetrious johnson's careers

Khabib is a better wrestler and overall grappler than Oliviera and defends himself better during striking exchanges where Olives gets hit a lot.

Remember that grappling is not just pulling off submissions which Charles is known for. It includes the ability to ground and pound, control your opponent on the ground, defend submissions (Olives has been submitted many times while Khabib never was), utilizing the cage, takedown offense and defense. Khabib has the upper hand in most of those areas which makes him a better overall grappler.

problem is khabib was too comfortable against strikers and he was giving his neck without a problem for gain position advtange. Against oliviera, he has to leave his comfort zone. He has to make changes on his style and it is not easy. İ dont think khabib would take risk to fight him with same style like he fought against other guys. There are too much risks. Charles is clearly better striker and charles is too technical to get controlled for 5 minutes in round. He would scramble and back on his feet or there is huge chance he can catch khabib with a sub,. More time on ground and more risk for khabib, even though he is himself great grappler. Charles still better submission artist.

Great example but this man isn’t the same. Something in him has changed. He’s young and only getting better. Khabib has never faced a serious grappler in his career. He’s mostly face strikers. Charles Oliveira has 16 submissions in the UFC and Khabib has only 5.

Finally Islam make everyone shut up... Charlea never get closed to Khabib level.. Never... Islam also say "Charles get lucky Khabib retired early, or else Charles never get a chance to touch the belt"..

I think the idea to compare khabib with others is simply favouring someone as well as simply unfair, becoming champion is easy but maintaining championship is totally different, until his retirement he not only maintained that level ,he enhanced that level as well as shifted his game to another level, the best there was, the best there is and the best khabib will be. Khabib is way more robust than olives. I would put my money on him no doubt if it ever happens.

no fighter can be counted out. sometimes a lucky punch or kick can win a fight like chandler against ferguson. But lookin at skill, Khabib is unbeatable. oliveira would end up just like all others.

Oliviera would destroy, he has more than twice the amount of finishes as Khabib has wins and he beat much stronger opposition. Khabib won against 3 good fighters, rest were bums. Oliveira would dominate on the feet and it would be even on the ground.

As a life long grappler myself, I genuinely think Charles could’ve beat Khabib. And don’t disrespect the man he’s on a 10 fight win streak khabib was on like 12 in the ufc. So they’re both all time greats. Charles has more submissions than anyone in the history of the ufc he has more finishes than anyone in the ufc. Khabib never fought a decent grappler during his title reign. Dustin Conor Justin. They were all strikers trying to keep the fight standing. Charles isn’t that, he wouldn’t give a shit about getting taken down, it’s where he thrives.

Totally agree with Volk that Oliveira's best chance to win is to wrap something up while Khabib's taking him down (from what we've seen so far; Khabib's only real vulnerable grappling point is that sometimes he'll leave his neck out for the grabs, specifically when he goes for traditional US style doubles or singles). Otherwise thinking Olives gets controlled and g&p.

Olivera wins his fights by tiring out his opponents through striking in the first round and submitting or finishing them when they are tired. Khabib style was just insane cardio and power. There’s almost no way Olivera doesn’t just get smeshed like all the others

@@Wise101 Khabib is no bigger than the rest. He actually comes in at the middle..between 175 and 180. Others come in towards the low 180s. Some towards the middle to low 170s as Khabib. Khabib was 172 for Gleison Tibau who was 183 when they fought. Khabib ( no matter how one slices it ) is just simply not some big guy fighting midgets.

I can understand the points on both sides. Khabib really was very dominant in his time, having retired undefeated, without any defeat (although the fight against Gleison Tibau was controversial), Khabib never even bled, a real monster. But I also understand that for some people Khabib should have done some things that were missing, like defending the belt more times, moving up in the division to face other good fighters in the upper division. And I also understand the point of those who defend Oliveira, his technique in BJJ is unparalleled, he has a high level strike and also has an incredible history of overcoming. The truth that we would only know what would actually happen in a fight between the two, if they fought. What we can do is draw conclusions if the fight between Islam and Charles happens. As a Brazilian I believe in Charles, because they always doubt him and he always shuts everyone up.

Taking out Gaethje does not change anything about how I think a fight with Khabib goes. If they were to grapple, it would for sure be interesting but his best chance would be on the feet. Guess we'll never know until Khabib somehow returns. Maybe if Olievera continues to defend his title and goes on an impressive streak, it might be enough, but knowing Khabib and his loyalty to his mother, I don't think we'll ever see him compete again.

We will have an idea about who is better soon in Oliveira vs Makhachev

problem is khabib was too comfortable against strikers and he was giving his neck without a problem for gain position advtange. Against oliviera, he have to leave his comfort zone. He have to make changes on his style and it is not easy. İ dont think khabib would take risk to fight him with same style like he fought against other guys. There are too much risk. Charles is clearly better striker and charles is too technical to get controlled for 5 minutes in round. He would scramble and back on his feet or there is huge chance he can catch khabib with a sub,. More time on ground and more risk for khabib, even though he is himself great grappler. Charles still better submission artist.

The Oliveira vs kabib will never happen, because kabib doesn’t have the grit to be a UFC fighter anymore, and, if Olivera beats makhachev then you have to take a look at kabib title defenses to know who is better, Gaethje and Poirier are two fighters they have in common other than that kabib beat Iaquinta and a very diminished MacGregor, whilst Olivera became champion Beating Chandler and could possibly have a title defense agains makhachev, which in my eyes would make Olivera a WAY WAY better champion.

4 better ..u should see all record both fighter 4 compare..dont see who both fought ...u should make all resume both...khabib is perfect fighter in LW record..charles is great fighter in LW ufc... If u just see both opponent..u cant compare that...

Oliviera never fought Conor, Barbosa or prime RDA. Chandler os 2-2 in ufc and his wins are against Hooker and a grandpa Tony Ferguson.

But the answer to your question is that if even Oliviera had more defenses and a better resume than Khabib as an advantage, we still have to look at Oliviera's 8 losses compare to Khabib's 0 losses and Khabib's dominance as an advantage and then weigh all that into consideration.

That's what I'm thinking. Forget Khabib who's retired, I think Islam is going to keep running through everyone until he beats the champion. Oliveira still has to get through Gaethje, and people who think Oliveira is better than Khabib automatically assume Charles is going to win.

Ask any future contenders in LW who is they're focusing now. That's right, Islam is their focus. Fiziev and Arman even admitted on record lol.

I look at the comment and cringe hard. Style make fights. Khabib doesn't have the striking of Makhachev but have tremendous ground and pound. Islam Makhachev stayed on Oliviera's guard for a long time. I believe Oliveira would have been Khabib's easiest title fight.

Khabib is just on a different level overall. Khabib has better chin and definitely better standup. No doubt charles is a dangerous fighter and can pull off a comeback at any point. However, he gets knocked down quite abit too easily sometimes. What bobby knuckles said definitely sums it up. His technique and understanding of the game doesnt get credit much and most of the time tt is why nobody has a concrete solution to counter him despite knowing 100% what he would do in the fight. Dude is just tt good and confident in his own element man.

Oliveira beats Khabib. Oliveira always pressures forward and has insane cardio. Khabib doesn’t have the power Gaethje/Dustin/Chandler have to hurt him on the feet to push him back and has to shoot his takedowns out in the open. Oliveira can hurt Khabib on the feet and will definitely submit him when Khabib shoots in the middle of the cage or when he’s on his back out in the open. People are straight up disrespecting Oliveira, but he will be the lightweight 🐐 by the time he retires.
