yes we must now leave under WTO terms which are fair to trade with the EU. Remember we do not need a damaging pre trade deal paying billions after billions of money we can use inside the UK to the EU. For a posable trade deal which they refuse to tell the UK people any of the details. The Boris no balls hands the EU an open back door to the UK market as the EU demands he agrees to, mean goods from the EU can enter part of the UK with out customs and as the UK can not legaly put customs on goods from one part of the UK to another those EU goods can then flood the UK market with out customs being paid where they entered the UK in NI. Boris has just agreed to many job losses here in NI and in England.

l love your video. Large investors need to understand the content of investing completely differently than small investors do. Warren buffett once said that if he has one million of capital to invest he would guarantee a return of 40% per annum. It would be very interesting to understand the different valuation methods for valuing investment. But my question is how does these average investors/newbies understand the market price? Doing technical analysis can be quite different, which is why most newbies/traders neglect day trading their coins and stick to holding which is very dangerous as when the market goes bearish. My advice any newbie/trader to buy the dip for traders who are still wondering to enter the market, or old time traders who are holders to seek help from not just any trader but an established trading expert with at least 96% trading accuracy. I underwent series of trading losses I'd best not to talk about before I was introduced to trading analysis Mr. Jordan . My contact with him has been the pinnacle of this year for me, under his careful guide In few years or so, people will definitely be kicking themselves in regrets for missing the opportunity to buy and invest in cryptocurrency. his signal service, I've been able to recover my losses and even grow my trading portfolio massively, from 1.6 btc to 7btc in 5weeks. I will advice traders, most especially newbies to have orientation of trading before they involve in it. Mr. Jordan makes you learn daily while you make profit with his signals. Mr Jordan can be contacted via what's app : + 1 (2 1 3) 8 0 6 - 3 9 5 6 * for inquires....

Better to give the power to the many ignorant, let them realize their mistake and not repeat it than to hold the power to the top and separate further away from the people giving you the power in the first place. Let's not forget it is a democracy, not an autocracy, and the only reason Britain has had one of the most longstanding governments without huge reform in the world is because it was one of the first to give the citizens power over it's government (however little control that apparently may seem considering Brexit).

I am surprised by this video by the Economist, I would have expected far more in depth analysis from the Economist. . The UK has had 'looser' banking regulations. As a typical example: Barclays Bank used to be the custodian of the LIBOR management. This is a crucial responsibility that literally affects the interest rate on everyone's credit card around the world. Well the 'looser' banking regulations resulted in Barclays abusing their privileged position, and committing the crime of manipulating the LIBOR rates for their own gain. They were caught after years of manipulation. They should have been regulated into better management. There are plenty more examples of the UKs banking sector running a muck (such as HSBC's record breaking fine). . This story about the UK having any efficiency or superior position in banking is simply hogwash. The 'looser' banking regulations of the UK allowed for criminal activity to run rampant in the UK banking sector. In essence the UK has become a Laundromat for tax evasion and criminal activities, particularly in Europe.. . The EU has begun clamping down on the UK (and Poland and Hungary and Switzerland). This clamp down (in the UK's case) may actually have been the genesis of the Brexit movement. But Brexit or no Brexit the UK has to re-engineer their economy away from their reliance on criminal finance activities.

  • @Krawurxus

The damage is already done, but the damage inflicted will still be far less severe if the UK stays in the EU instead of leaving. The UK has embarrassed itself on the international stage and companies will already be scared by the volatility, but at least the UK could limit further damage by remaining.

@Death to the EU regime I got to disagree with you. Brexit is definitely not a good thing for UK, either economical, political or trade. Nothing will be more beneficial. The only benefit will be corruption tax policy will be relaxed which is good for the rich in UK (that's why they started the whole Brexit at the first place). What it will lead to is, Scotland will soon be separated from UK ( alot of British also said, we don't need them anyway). Well if you are one of them, good luck with you. You will need to rely heavily on US (who is far away from UK). UK chose to mess up their relationship with neighbouring countries and chose to build their relationship with someone far away, is definitely not considered geopolitical benefit. Good luck.

As a Londoner, this story should cause me concern, but it doesnt. The truth is, the life I've lived has only seen life in London getting more expensive and exclusive largely because it seems that London feels like it has an active plan to put pressure on the regular person to give up and move out and to surrender the city to the kind of demographic that works in and feeds off this market sector. Maybe the economic/market hit the UK is going to get with the fallout from its move to Brexit, will in its own way provide space for those millions of regular people to be able to remain rooted in the places they want to stay and thrive. London might be rich. Bankers might be rich, but most people I know have never had it so hard.

/there is one more, important thing - the quality of life in Britain and London, which is absolutely sh*t comparing with EU and will become worse. People in Britain live in terrible, tiny apartments, paying lots of money which is very shocking, hence it is simply not attractive to be there. At the same time, people in London allow to sell beautiful mansions to rich oligarchs from Russia, China and Middle East, which makes some neighbourhoods such as Knightsbridge, Mayfair or Chelsea not affordable. AND With Brexit, living in the UK will be even worse. You can have much better living standards in Germany, France, Austria, Denmark or Netherlands.

Maybe that may become one of the few (and perhaps only) pros for britain; If it trully dies out as europes financial center and increasingly so in the long term then lots of these properties will vacate, and if brexit really rocks britain into an crysis many won't be bought, and that could lead to some day mansions dying out to make room for the growing city. That coupled with the status loss will mean a decrease in housing and living cost in london at some point- so cheers for cheaper london living? In a real democracy you know what you're voting for BEFORE you vote - not 3 years later. If the ref had been a legal contract it would be deemed VOID because those signing it didn't know the TERMS of the contract. If anyone thinks that's democratic, I have a contract they can sign here & I'll tell them the TERMS in 3 years time. If politicians want to break this political deadlock then give us a 'democratic' vote - which means - negotiate whatever 'deal' the EU is willing to give & then put THAT deal to the voters with 'Remain' as the alternative. It would be the first 'Democratic' vote we've been given on the subject - because in a 'democracy' you know what you're voting for BEFORE you vote - not 3 years later.

Many people that are part of my generation in the U.K. , are still very upset with Brexit. There were a lot of UK citizens living abroad in Europe, that didn't want to leave the EU. Either way taxes will go up and they'll have to pay a huge leaving fee over the next few years. I'm positive no one wants higher taxes. The US is a melting pot though too. Whether this person wants to address it or not. Spanish is becoming the second language to know in the States. The Latin American market is huge, and the music and food is very popular in the states. Whilst English is the official language, it does not hurt to know another language. If anything it opens more doors.

Usually, a reduction in trade between two countries will cause a smaller increases in trade with all the other countries. The need for a certain product doesn't dissapear, not completely at least, if trade barriers occur, it just means that the cost goes up and/or availability goes down. This means that products from 3rd party countries that were initially less competitive than what was traded at a time suddenly become more competitive in turn driving up sales (1). The total increases in 3rd party countries are expected to be lower than the total decrease in both countries in a trade war due to the fact that the competitiveness of products from 3rd party countries remains the same relative to all the other categories of products available (2) and because the investors have to make decisions in a riskier market and are therefore are more reluctant in making investments that can generate growth. 1. You have bread A at 1$ and bread B of equal quality at 1.10$. Normally you'd buy bread A but due to tariffs imposed on bread A, it now costs 1.20$ making bread B your natural choice. And since a lot more people buy bread B, the profits will go towards the country of origin for bread B, a country that is not affected by the trade war at a loss for the economy producing bread A. 2. The price for bread is now 1.10$ (bread B) while potatoes are 1.00$ (price unchanged from previous months). The price for bread relative to that of potatoes (and all other non-tariffed products) has increased and while you may buy more potatoes and less bread your overall spending increased if you buy the same products in the same quantities. Apply this on a global scale and you'll notice that the overall efficiency of the system has decreased (you buy less for more). Q: How will Brexit affect the ongoing Us-China Trade war? A: 1. Brexit will make the UK and the EU poorer (the UK more than the EU) and everyone else richer (including the US and China) 2. The US-China trade war makes the US and China poorer (more China than US) and everyone else richer (including the UK and the EU) 3. Everyone - net increase The UK, the EU, the US and China have to balance their loses and their increases (overall decreases should outweigh overall increases, but there could theoretically be a small increase for one or the other, relative to severity of 1. and 2.) Subtract the loses created by decrease of investment in the markets in the 4 countries in particular with a smaller ripple effect globally (they are the 3 biggest markets in the world, by far)

Another factor is that we can't build anymore runways because of our climate agreements with the EU, Amsterdam has 6 runways and Frankfurt has 4 in their main airport but London only has 2? How is that equal competition between EU countries? If people aren't travelling via London then it is less convenient for companies to set up here. Secondly, the people in the house of commons that opposed the democratic vote of the people created uncertainty, no one's going to invest in a country with an uncertain economy. If we'd have just got on with Brexit and made plans to build another airport in the UK or something equivalent which will allow for more air traffic, none of this would be happening.

@Death to the EU regime I never disputed the fact that Britian is a very attractive country for the financial industry. I am not sure if you watched the video that you are commenting under, but if you have, you should now know that the main reason for this, is not stability. The video gave a lot of reasons why Britian is attractive and what a wonder stability was not mentioned. And now onto how stable Britian is: 1. Britian had a referendum years ago, still is not sure wether to act on it or not, has a devided parliament, has a devided population, has protest every day. 2. Scotland already held one independence referendum, may hold another one, Scots hate Brexit and love the EU, so stronger support for independence in post-Brexit is very likely. 3. With Northern Ireland Britian has probably one of the most unstable regions in the whole EU. Brexit, depending on how it is carried out, could again destablize the region. 4. Britian is largely dependent on trade with the Eurozone, for basic supply like food and medication, but also for their exports. Thus I do not see how stability would be positive for the UK compared to other more stable EU coutries like Sweden, Finland or even Germany

Of course, financial hubs don't build on vacuum, they build on places that people already have a reason to come, so every financial hub has a foundation that attract people. London's foundation used to be the heart of an Empire, after that, UK market themselves as gateway to the single-market. Brexit threatens that foundation. Change do not come easy or fast, but if you give people a reason not to stay, they will go away.
