Getting to a break of 50 is more comparable to running a full marathon! 5k is closer to merely potting a ball. Love your videos, always wondering about your history with snooker

This is such an awesome idea and a perfect example of just how hard the game is to play and how ridiculously easy they make it look on the TV, And to have over a hundred (or a century , sorry, i couldn't resist) years worth of local club history people past and present in itself is something quite special, I really like this 👍

I've taken snooker up again after years away from the table, and finding it tough going. Highest break in my younger days was 67. I'm 49 years old - 50 in a couple of months, and I'd already set myself the challenge of getting a 50 break before I'm 50. I will be using these excellent practice challenges in today's practice. Thank you.

*Cheers from MONCTON, NEW-BRUNSWICK, Canada!!* My name is *ANDRE* and I've been an avid snooker player since the age of 16 (I'm now 47). But unfortunately, the popularity of the game has dropped off almost completely in this part of Canada. Back in the day, there were 2 major billiard halls in our little town of Moncton, which had a snooker league each year, and many different pool leagues also. It was VERY popular in the 80's and 90's. It's sad that it's pretty much died off. I don't even know if there is even one snooker table available in our town anymore. Hopefully by next year, when my brother and I move in together, we are going to get our own snooker table at home. Which has been my DREAM since I started playing! So, keep up the great videos!! I look forward to start playing again early next year! I'll definitely let you know! (PS: My high break in league play was 89. In exhibition it was about 115 I believe. Such a long time ago!) Also, I broke/busted my right wrist and arm while falling in the icy parking lot. I needed surgery and a cast for several months. Once I got the cast off, it's not even close to being the same as it was. I only have about 50% mobility in my wrist now, and probably for good. At first this really upset me as I'm a semi-advanced guitar player who made some income from teaching and playing...etc. That's all been thrown out the window now. But I've been playing somewhat more lately and I think I might be able to get close to where I used to be. What this is going to affect in my snooker playing, I have no idea! I THINK I'll still be able to stroke the cue like I used to. I'm hoping and praying! SORRY for the long-ass rant.

@@crazyrichdolls3860 Haha No thanks. Not with what's going on right now. I'm more than happy to stay in NB where we only have 3 active COVID cases ATM. Besides that, my brother in Ottawa and his wife are moving to NB early next year when he retires, and they've welcomed me to live with them, and one of the first things he wants to get is a snooker table!!(After a hot tub of course lol) As long as we have a room that can accommodate it that is. And from most of the houses he's interested in and shown me so far, there will be enough space for a table either a man cave, or some other room in the house. So the dream is still alive!!! Can't F***ing wait!!!!

But if you are, it's a winter wonderland also. LOL Houses are really cheap around here as opposed to Ontario! He's been looking forward to moving back here for years! I can't wait for him to move back .

I had a 52 a few months ago, just before lockdown, I was really getting somewhere! When I've been back on the table recently it's been difficult to hit my stride again but I'm getting some cracking pots! Missing simple things that I had managed to right - shots you wouldn't think are great in a pro match but they're the bread and butter of big breaks.

One thing from your videos that I had never thought about, was how certain spin on the cue ball can add or subtract to the speed of the ball around the table, when trying to gain position by banking the shot. I think of the balls and the rails now as if they were gears, always spinning one another on contact. A CW spin imparts a CCW spin on the object, and shooting with NO spin at all is probably almost a freak occurrence. Using a little bit of spin on the cue ball has helped me get better results on sharper cuts, counter-compensating for the push effect on the object ball. Now those cut shots seem to be more logical rather than just guessing on some unknown amount of overcut compensation.

I barely play anymore, but was regularly hitting 20/30 odd breaks when playing once a week, usually drunk lol but I got a 39 once, always wanted to get above 50 but never beat 40 lol. With this and regular table time I reckon this would help me get 40 if not 50 haha but cheers great watchable content as always mate.

I've been playing 6 weeks or so.. I made a 43 break and missed an easy red with the black on the spot. I got nervous with the half century in sight..hopefully some day I will break the 50 barrier.

I can make the occasional 30+ break but after 5-10 blacks off the spot I tend to find myself getting a little too far offline to be able to hold the cue ball. Making 30 in a row off the spot seems too difficult relative to making 30 breaks. Of course perhaps that only means that a particular part of my shooting is off - ie maybe my aiming is fine but judging "weight" is my main problem. GREAT videos - extremely helpful.
