The Cotter Pumping Station is one of Canberra’s oldest buildings. Construction started in 1914 and was completed in 1918, when Canberra’s population was only around 2000 people and had newly become Australia’s Capital City. The station is heritage listed, and the pumps are some of the oldest operating in the world.
