I want to live in a cottage core medieval town, where we don’t buy things, we trade. We trade our spell jars and foods and spell ingredients and everything of the sort. We have horses and animals through the town. It would be in the middle of nowhere in a great grass plains. There we would be a forest near by with a stream flowing through. We would all respect each other and their beleifs. There would be town events where you could dance with the fae. We would be medieval but still have a bit of modern, like working toilets, and filters for the well water.we wouldn’t have a leader we would all be the same level of law.the town would be relatively medium in size. About the size where everyone kind of knows each other but also big enough to where it would take a bit to cross the town through land. Destroying Angel (the mushroom) is particularly cool because the way the poison works there’s a ‘walking ghost phase’ (I think that’s the common term) where it seems like you’re getting better but then you die, it’s really fascinating

I did. She’s going on talking about how the mushroom’s perennial and simultaneously shows a hunk of it ripped off the tree it grew on. Also, drawing on it gives off the same gross vibes as carving things into live trees. Edit: Also just saw the poisonous mushroom one and I am PISSED!

For those that want to know where to get those small jars with the corks and labels like at 9:15, the specific one she had is by a brand called "Tim Holtz". They have a lot of "found items", things for jewelry, scrapbooking, and just decorations. You can find them at Hobby Lobby and other craft stores. I have those exact bottles, they come with the corks and the small label stickers. (Also, if anyone wanted to know, if you use crushed up pomegranate arils as paint like she did with the nightshade berries, it will go from the deep pinkish-red to a periwinkle-blue color if you are using multimedia paper. Not sure about any other type of paper, I just know about that specifically.) (Edit: One last thing; The Vintage Trading Company has a lot of really nice mugs, tea cups/pots, and items for gardens, kitchens, bedrooms, etc.)

Dave Strider Tim Holtz for Ranger is an awesome designer. His aesthetic is very appealing, but with more of an industrial edge than cottage vibes. Many items lend themselves to crossover though.

I’ve always wanted to move to the countryside...somewhere like Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland or the Bavarian alps in Germany and just live in a cottage, learn to sew my own clothes, grow and cook my own food, learn about herbal plants, play the harp and listen to Celtic music and sing. Oh and have a cat and maybe one day, a good man and a family. Would love to live like in the medieval times, but then I kinda also need good facilities haha.Oh how I wish all of this would come true one day.

I plan to build, but a ton of people buy old, crappy looking homes and totally repair/repaint them. Or, with the right decorations and a new door and coat of paint, many modern/basic homes can look very cottagecore. First, figure out your needs and how much work you are willing to put into it. Then, go from there.
