This season was top tier. Despite some of the issues with the game, its crazy how much the meta has changed since the game launched. It has kept the game fresh and interesting imo. Can't wait for next season

Ninja 3-0ing Mighty Unjust's Kenshi of all Kenshi players was the highlight for me. But we gotta put some mad respect on my man Rewind for taking down the same player's REIKO, with GENERAL SHAO! This first tournament was insane, awesome content

I was jumping out of my seat off Rewinds bracket reset. Those couple of execution errors were TOUGH but MASSIVE respect the competitors and especially you guys for putting on these types of matches.

What's insane is that we might get Sonicfox in the COTR. That prize money was so juicy to pass on. $8000 prize pool is insane. Great work D3stroyer and Caboose

SonicFox was in the chat during the week 7 and people were hoping he would join in for season 8 but it didn't happen unfortunately. We still had massive names in the finals and it was nice having Bandinoz being a godlike competitor as someone nobody knew about.

This first season of COTR brought the absolute best hype, I cannot wait for us to get started on season 2!! AND THIS TOP 8 WAS OUT OF CONTROL!! What a stellar finale omg 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥 Everyone went crazy!!!

this whole 8 weeks has been a blast to watch , and this was an epic finish !! Last time i was this hyped to watch Mortal Kombat was when Moonbreathing ran it back on the Raiden to win. Thanks to Destroyer FGC and Caboose for running this thing , you guys are awesome!!

Legit one of the funniest dudessssss

This is like a PPV heavyweight fight, wrestlemania, super bowl.

2 of the 3 players in the final is great. And the other popular online players as well. Justnasty, tweedy, pulse, themightyunjust. These guys keep the community jumping. Helluva tournament. Character selection was great. All around greatness. 3rd place match might’ve been my favorite. Just silence watching great gameplay. Bravo

It’s dope to watch these high level games because you learn how to deal with things that may be currently giving you problems in matches.

I don’t think Liu is low tier but ninja DEFINITELY carried this character these past tournaments 😂😂

He doesn't have overhead low mix, but he has legit 50/50's with number of hit mix, frame traps, staggers, unreactable auto shimmy's, crazy Strike Throw ShmMIX do to his Throws doing 30-40% and loop and 50% touches with probably #3 Zoning in the game only 3rd zoning to #1 Kitana/Lao and #2 Reiko/Tremor or Stryker. Liu has 6 frame punisher so he's one of only 3 characters that can punish 90% of the cast on -7 moves. He doesn't struggle at any range. So he doesn't have Johnny's crazy pressure or Raiden's Chip or Kenshi's Sento pressure but he's at least Top 8 My Top 8 is: Kenshi, Johnny, Sindel, Raiden, Ashrah, Geras, Kitana, Liu Kang.

Liu has one of the best shimmie games that leads into full combo throws, great stagger pressure, one of the best AA's in the game, top 5 zoning, and some of the best synergy with Kung Lao assist. Character is definitely not being carried by ninja lol; that's a wild take.

@@Bulletz4Breakfast13 I main Liu and I can tell you a lot of this is false but I do still put him top 10 somewhere. But not top 5. You will never get over 27% with a throw and without a bar in the corner the most you will get is 22%-23%. Liu literally never touches anyone for 50% unless he’s spending 2 bars and a kameo in the corner but thats most characters so nothing special. Most he can get mid screen is like 34%-38%, pretty average. 6 frame normal is good but it’s so stubby it really isn’t useful a lot of the time. A lot of moves have pushback. Saying Liu doesn’t struggle at any range is wild. A lot of the cast’s buttons become broken against Liu because he is so stubby. The midrange is the last place Liu wants to be. Either in your face or far away and he’s good. Don’t believe me? Go fight an ashrah or reiko that has good fundamentals. Ninja carried the hell out of him these tourneys. I’m impressed.

Been here since the first COTR tournaments you hosted for MKX during the dead period of Injustice 2. Insane to see how far it's progressed. Big ups Destroyer and Caboose, especially Caboose for helping out on the commentating. Destroyer used to go ham by himself before haha.

I think Ninja is obviously one of the best, but Tweedy, Dragon, Rewind are all capable of taking it. I've seen Ninja play Xombat, Tweedy, Rewind, Dragon and it goes either way most of the time.
