I absolutely enjoy the Costco runs. With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, looks like more of those to come. Nice of the man to help you with your Shopping Cart.

Told my husband I want to move to Alaska. After seeing 10.00 lemons I have changed my mind.

This reminds me so much of shopping for hurricanes here in FL. Sometimes I wish we had seasons, and then I see those icy roads and appreciate the blessing of tropical weather!

Where is your christmas tree!!! enjoy it!!!! i live in michigan! i put mine up every year on oct 31st, and its so beautiful looking at the lights! it takes your mind off negative going on in the world! I'm in my mid 50s and its my husband and me! no kids living at home! i put mine up early like my mother did! IT JUST MAKES THINGS GO BETTER!!! right now with all the negative going on it makes myself and husband really happy! it just make life better! SOMERS IN ALASKA I LOVE YOUR FAMILY AND CHANNEL!! @@josieloveyou2624 you can stick it in a garage or shed type place too, if you don't have a generator. Snow is basically nature's cooler anyway. As a Canadian this is what my family's done when the power goes out for a couple days

@ Deborah Huckaby, I lived in North Pole , AK. When I was in my mid 20’s for 4 years....had so much fun! Now, in my late 50’s... there is no way I could see myself living there now! I still keep in-touch w/friends that live in the town of North Pole, Fairbanks & other towns in Alaska! I must confess ..... sometimes I do miss North Pole Alaska, but only ...when I reminisce!

Born and raised in Western NY by PA. We regularly get slammed with snow and negative temperatures during winter(which also last 6 months). I think at some point you just get used to it happening every year lol. I mean I still hate being cold and the snow. But we make it work and you know what you need to do every year to stay safe, healthy and prepared.

I love shopping hauls I don't know why, but it is fascinating to me.

Your shopping videos are always interesting. Yours is slightly higher than the Costco that I usually go to. The Alaskan winter is just beginning but its so beautiful to see the snow.

You are so brave to drive in all that snow. You don’t even seem worried. I on the other hand have a anxiety attack driving in a inch of snow.

I live in Alaska and am DREADING the winter. But for some reason I'm here, cuddled up in my bed, watching videos of alaskans talking about winter.

The snow is so beautiful. In the winter I always at least have a sweater on at home so it's funny seeing Bert and the kiddos in short sleeves. Your house must be extremely well insulated! I love the fireplace too.

Icy mix is the type of winter weather we get here in NC, it is always so dangerous. Glad you all were safe.

I love that your kids are a part of real life some kids have no idea how the freaking groceries or anything gets in the house

I agree with you! I feel like kids these days are just so spoiled and forget that they need to work for things!

Small Costco run. We just did a $1,200 run in Anchorage. Gonna need to call Bert and talk generators in the next week or two. Thanks Happy Peoples.

Watching you doing your shopping at Costco reminded me of when our kid's was teenagers & we went threw 8 gallons of milk about every 4 days. Plus we always had 2 extra kid's most of the time. Jessica and Bert, Thank you for doing what you do with the kids. Your teaching your kids Real Life and how to help out and do in a household. My girls know about it too. Not many kids know and they also don’t want to know either. Life may happen but nothing is by Magic. My girls pull their weight (especially my youngest) but they are 22 & 20 and in college too. So, they will be doing great when they are out on their own I just hope it is No Time Soon.

Perfect timing, more lockdowns in Seattle area, I'm going to spend the day assessing the pantry although I'm pretty stocked up for the same reasons as you, being near mountains and hills you never know what winter will be like.... For emergencies: rice, beans, pasta, and bread...high calorie, high yield staples that can sustain a family for months....I begin stocking these during summer so I can focus on perishables during my more limited winter shopping trips.

Its 74 in Fla. We've been having an abundance of Tropical storms, hurricanes. Usually hurricane season over the end of November. This year we'll be lucky if its over in december. 2020 the year to remember. That black ice will get you. Take care everyone. Pray for our Nation an people impacted by these storms. Pray for the people who are sick. Hope Aunt Cheryl doing well.

I’m from east Texas too 😃 Yesterday morning it said “flurries” on the weather app and 32° when I woke up. By afternoon it was 71° Gotta love Texas weather 😆

Went to Costco today myself. Appears you have much less Christmas things. Our store lit up, Christmas. Makes me happy 😊. Leaving wallet/purse behind so sucks. My hubby came to my rescue last year. Love you sharing normality, refreshing. Inspiring 👍👊 God bless you. Bring on vlogmass ❤

Idea ... I leave my COSTCO card and one charge card in the car. Always drive the same hauler to Costco so I never forget the cards.

You are a lovely, lovely, family and it is a joy to watch your blog. It seems your Costco prices are not much different from the Costco prices in Prescott, AZ. It takes a special kind of person to live in the winters of Alaska. I would be depressed 24/7. I sunshine here in AZ rejuvenates me. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
