I've been in the USA for 20 odd years now....great to see Costco in NZ!..Been a member here for many years.....Our favorite purchase is always the roast chickens, we buy 2 or 3 at a time...here they are $4.99us, with the exchange rates they are actually cheaper in NZ at $7.99nz .watching the video, some pricing is on par with the USA....but i saw a few prices that shocked me....Like the Cashew nuts at $31....that jar is $9,95 here in the usa, The store layout is identical to the USA stores...I live near Tucson AZ, That's about the same size as Chch....we have 3 Costco stores in Tucson...and they are just as busy, but not so busy to be a PITA...just fun busy.

Thanks for watching video, yeah I have noticed that some items are more cheaper in our local supermarkets in Nz than Costco. But everyone is too excited to visit Costco as they want to figure out what Costco has to offer.

For me who works for Costco in Canada I had to the choice to transfer from Canada to work in New Zealand's Costco but I turned it down so I can be closer to my mum. But now I am thinking about going back a reaplying for the job out there. Hopefully I will get it cause the manager told me I have a job when I come back in couple of years and this time I will take it. Can't wai. :)

Watching other videos of this, a few people, presumably from the states were saying prices are high in NZ. Well as of last night looking at exchange rates worldwide. The NZ dollar was worth 56 cents against the US dollar. So for all practical purposes. Cut the NZ price in half to get the approximate price in US currency. Plus your buying in more bulk sizes. Best have a good sized pantry or break it up with friends if you can. I love their rotisserie chicken, but I don't buy it do to often due to what chemicals can go into it enhancing the awesome flavor. As for buying other meat, you might need a decent free standing freezer. It's worth it.

Costco is always crowded especially on the weekend. We have 4 Costco in my city and all 4 of them get super crowed especially around the holiday times like thanksgiving and christmas. It's hard to find even a parking spot. But I try to go to Costco only once in 2 months. It's very dangerous for me to go often because I tend to overspend and not stick to a budget when I'm in Costco.

It was super busy because this is first store opened in New Zealand. I agree ☝️ we need to avoid over spending and better to compare the prices with other supermarkets.

Me whos in auckland it's only in Westgate so it's not that bad the lines a very long and it was diffently fun but I didn't feel well so I had to leave but it was a cool experience

Fresh fruit is crazy expensive, 2 pk muffins in US are 7.99.

There's a membership extra by elevation to executive joining fee of $120 from the standard fee of $60..but you can only spend it in the same outlet like merry go round a bit dizzy after a while ?

Is there powdered ice tea available?

It’s hard to say, you can save a money on some items if you buying in bulk, To be honest I didn’t see a big difference on prices.
