Yeah right, people get killed all the time and noone ever catches the murderers. Two years ago my uncle who was a taxi driver got in an argument with someone on a motorcycle, he told his wife about it. Then later in the day they called her wife and told her my uncle had been killed that people had seen a motorcycle ride up to his taxi and they shot him 8 times in the head thru his window. My ex wife is currently in mexico right now she had to go to her older sisters funeral cause someone shot her. A few years earlier someone had killed that ladies son too. Within the last five years two brothers a sister and a nephew of my ex wife have been murdered in guanajuato mexico.

I have down here in Baja for over 25 years. One needs to see it an live it to understand how stupid it is to stay in the US. I'm 80 with Medicare but find it cheaper to pay for my medical needs and drugs if needed here in Mexico. Granted, I am healthy and exercise a lot and use no meds but they are cheap if I need them. The US has become a third world country. IMO.

I just returned from Tulum and found new bikes for $2000 pesos ($100). These had brakes unlike many of the rentals, which did not have real brakes and you had to use the pedals to stop or slow down. Rentals were 100 pesos to 200 per day and it was difficult to find one with actual braking with cables. As you noted, If I had stayed a month or more, it makes sense to buy and then try to sell it when you leave, rather than renting. Plus, at least it’s new. Some of the rentals look pretty dodgy.

We had a hard time in cabo for long term rental to June, we pay 20,000 pesos a month...but I think its because of the view and close to the beach. I hear you about the bikes ...good idea for when we were in todos last year I didn't see any transportation other than the bus to LA paz or cabo...I have never taken the bus but I can find out how much. We played 200 pesos for a breakfast their...we actually remembered what the menu said which was a good thing for when the bill came he put a different price on the bill..I ask is this with tip and he said no so I was a little upset but did confront but ended up giving him it and more anyways for we always tip well...I just wanted him to know that we knew how much it was on the menu. All in all we live in todos normally on our land but we could not drive down this year so it is very costly for us to have to rent in cabo. And because we have no building s on our land we would have had to rent there as well, find transportation like you did, and we have more friends her in cabo so decided to choose here instead. Don't regret it but will continue to look for cheaper locations that are furnished here. Good luck to you in your adventure...I wish we could buy your bikes when you are finished with them but I don't know how you would get them to us in cabo.

Really looked forward to getting information. I think she mentioned once where she’s at and couldn’t understand it. I don’t care about a 5 minute conversation in bicycle purchases and repairs. Sadly this video left me no better off than where I started.

I have lived in sw Costa Rica for the last12 years. It's been a great run, but thinking it is time to move on as it has gotten ridiculously expensive and the government seems hellbent on destroying the country economically. Looking to explore Mexico and Ecuador as I have spent some time there. Thanks for your informative videos!

Hi. I am just seeing this. I been looking at a lot of u tube mexico living to get an idea of, as I'm on the lower rental desire, yet checking around lots of choices...especially if you are choosing to rent for 6 months or a year. Fresh fruits n veggies, yes at different farmers markets...wanting to nit be in a center of a big city but on the edge where i can be seen as in selling, or creating or working from home. I will work locally if needed. Lots of little questions to ask about water pressure, internet, trash pick up, noise of neighborhood, how far from beach, passport and claiming on temporary residency when that is allowed and prof of income or money if needed...I have friends living in Buscaries near the beach so I get their point of view. I am vegan, vegetarian in choice so it's good to get an idea of what's close in choices for markets...how to participate in sakes at farmers markets...I also signed up with a man named Jerry Brown who has channel: Jerry Brown Travels for 1 hour consultation as he lives in mexico with his wife and they interview a lot of people...u may even know the utuber Larrisa [ larissa in mexico. She was from Canada] I understand I, you could look at face book: expats in mexico. Some places seem to be getting way overpriced and that's if non Mexicans buy up land n properties...still there will be deals. I am wanting to spend 400 to 600 for a Casita or 2 bedroom heat accepts pets. Mexico would be my new home to launch myself. Getting into metaphysical accessory sales lije crystals n cards, sell n make art or my art on clothing, and wrap crystals as pendants etc, to wear...I am just starting to teach myself Spanish and stating open for this ..good wishes in your adventures

Long-term I would too. It's nice to be here for a little while, but I think long-term I would either get tired of only being able to go a bicycle-distance away or I'd end up needing to buy a car (which at this point in time I really don't want to do).
