Only bc they copied other tech ideas and built on corrupt government and ridiculous policies like inflated import taxes that suppresses the poor and the top 3% of the richest people can always control the economy and the product flow. Same as any other Asian 3rd world countries. Indonesia is a place where dreams are just a silly idea mainly because of ridiculous selfish religion and politics are controlling ppls basic human rights for the pursuit of fiancial success
I’m Indonesian and had been living in Hanoi Vietnam as an expat. The living cost is similar, our apartment rent was about twice than yours but other expences in Hanoi is cheaper. But my favorite city in Indonesia to stay is Jogja

I am surprised it's more expensive than living in USA 😂 (at least for me). @@longhorn789000 nah, those are really high end, you can find more affordable from $400 - $800 and even cheaper if you ok with rent at "kost" a small room kinda like student dorm or for small wage employee. around $100 but with low price comes with, yea you know.. stuff.. since it's mostly located in dense population area.

I left the country 20 years ago for family reason, and I love to hear and watch what's up there now from foreigner perspectives., how much everything cost , you broke it down really details so I can compare/calculate/imagine what I can or I can't buy , how much my paycheck will be if I kept my job back then..and on and on..and on...
hi bro, I hope you try to explore South Banten, (South coast of Banten, Ujung Kulon and the Baduy tribe and many more that I know) Banten province. there are many things that are very special and for sure you've never seen them. and there are still many secret places that people rarely visit. Tq

Exactly like you mentioned, I want to go to some of the more "rare" places that is not the most popular, but a bit more unexplored. If you have any more recommendations, I would appriciate it. Baduy? Im not sure that expatriate can visit there(especially white), for my understanding, baduy tribe is still upholding the custom of the ancestors not to allow white people to visit, it does not mean racist, but the rule has existed since the time of colonialism.

Ujung genteng.. But please beware it's conservation area for turtle. You can find hundreds yo turtle there which shelter for their migration.

Jakarta is the only one city I would like to live in Indonesia. I love Jakarta so much and I miss it a lot.....

I'm a foreigner living in Jakarta but I do not spend such money in Jakarta, I pay 6 million for my apartment every month and maybe in the month I spend only 9 or 10 million here in Jakarta 😋😋😋

At least I agree one one thing. Go-food (and go-jek for transportation in my case). So practical and useful! Now I can't think of ever living in any other place in the world. I'm so addicted!
