In this version, the song was greatly shortened, and a logical error appeared in the text. In the chorus, the girl Marusya is dark-haired (Чорнявая дiвчина), in the verse she already has a light braid (руса коса). In this case, she quickly changes wigs. =D In the original version, as far as I remember, Kozak tells the black-haired Marusa that he fell in love with another girl who is short and has a blond braid

+Zi Jiang I'm not Ukrainian, nevertheless I tried to make a translation: 1. Unharness the horses, lads, and go get some rest. I will go to the garden, to the garden to dig a little well. Ref: Marusja (it‘s a female name), one two three, guelder-rose, a dark-haired? girl picked strawberries in the garden. 2. I dug, dug a little well in the garden. Whether a little girl would go out for water in the morning? Ref: Marusja, one two three, guelder-rose, a dark-haired girl picked strawberries in the garden 3. Out went a little girl in the morning to get water, and behind her a cossack was bringing his horse to drink. Ref: Marusja, one two three, guelder-rose, a dark-haired girl picked strawberries in the garden 4. I know, I know, little girl, with what I made you angry. That’s because yesterday evening I made love to a more beautiful girl (than you are). Ref: Marusja, one two three, guelder-rose, a dark-haired girl picked strawberries in the garden 5. She was not tall and she was young. She had fair braided hair down to her waist, her braids were tied with sky-blue ribbons (literally pigeon-blue) Ref: Marusja, one two three, guelder-rose, a dark-haired girl picked strawberries in the garden 6. Unharness the horses, lads, and go get some rest. I will go to the garden, to the garden to dig a little well.
