Worth a mention and surprised it wasn't covered - healing live units 15 secs or so before engaging a similar sized army can be the main factor in determining the outcome if both ops have similar skill. Really is a good thing to get into the habit of using.

It was nerfed severely. It takes much longer and is difficult to use tactically. It only does 50% Health regeneration too.

And, what is your tactic against mass of units ? Like 17th musk + 18th Musk (Bavaria, Saxony, Denmark, Prussia) when you play with Spain or another nation without special firepower? I got one or two strategies but doesn't work all the time, thanks COlour.

Well in these situations you are at a disadvantage if you are late game against a nation with the late game power musketeers and you dont have some yourself. The best way around this is to make good use of your calvary. A good cuirassier charge at the right time will wipe out there army. A hussar charge as well can do the same. Dragoons are good but wont turn the tide if you are already at a severe disadvantage, especially if your opponent has some theirself.

what you say at the end reminds me of my yesterday game where I played as turkey and i did lose my whole army on the beggining. Becouse I did sent it to battlefield and forget about them and focused on economy. and they started to attack my town but becouse I haved lot of food and gold I did make the light infantry and archers so quickly that i send one hord on smal sieging army and they all died but I winned the battle and meanwhile I did have another horde ready. so I did survive. Then I manage to make 800 men army and plunder towns of both of my foes. And i winned the game!

Very good video! Tho' how do you do with the captains and drummers? It's annoying how you can add to the captain only multiples of 16 units or something. Also annoying how I have to "refill" my captains with new soldiers after battles. :p (disperse it, then re-add the units back, takes a bunch of time if you have 10 batallions made out of one captain with pikes, one captain with 17th (century) musketeers, and one captain with 18th (century) musketeers each) Also really why tf red and brown? :))

Hi. Who knows how to keep shooters together in one pack not allowing them to get separated? I mean groups with officers. You have for example 10 groups (120 shooters each) and plus monks. Thus you have a string unit. But when you move them, each groups tends to be separate :(

Nice vid mate! I'm hopelessly looking for how to get better at the game. I keep losing online games, I'm always the worst of my team and even worse, I struggle with higher difficulty bots. I can manage max 5 "hard" bots or 2 "very hard" bots (not even systematically, I win like 1 game of the 2). Any other ideas of how to get better? I usually start with 1K resources and start upgrading my resources income in first place. But later then I always get weakened then finally crushed by the enemies how hard I even try. Any tips? How do you start your games?

Learn to use your Market. It's a powerful tool to get whatever resources you need to upgrade or build. After a few upgrades in the academy increasing stone/food production, you should either use food or stone as your "cash crop" to get other resources which u need.

How do you order the formations to attack? I can see you are not right clicking an enemy otherwise your troops would all "chunk" together as they approach the enemy. But your troops stay in formation. Are you just sending them somewhere and the click HOLD GRPUND ?

Maybe you are the right guys to help me on this. I have a 2k widescreen monitor and windows 11. However, the game even in highest resolution (2560×1440) shows everything too big and cannot play. I tried the proposed dpi settings and check the scaling tab but nothing happened. Could you please assist ?

if the problem is still present, have you checked your graphics card settings? another thing may be, if you have an external hard drive connected, it may mess with your computer for no apparent reason. that was the thing for me so i figure i warn people :D

Its common sense to not use formations when your enemy has formations. Do you really think that i'm screwed because you have art?

"Share this video to your fellow cossacks players" ? Hmm. Only when I *level up* and get bored of my "easy-mode" friends =]] (i.e. only teach 'em if you can take the challenge)

What about artilery? My melee usually gets slaughtered by it and idk what to do. I thought about fast moving cavalry flanking and taking or destroying the cannons but since the enemy has cavalry aswell im afraid that if i move in it will get intercepted by reiters and get killed. Sorry for the question im new to the game so i dont know much, tips would be apreciated :)

Hey Cryicoltic, didnt mention art in this video, but i'll explain it to you here. There are two ways to deal with cannons. If your opponent has few cannons, attack immediately with everything if you think you can win. If not, retreat and make your own cannons. Also make sure to spread out your units if you have musketeers when you are engaging so that cannon shots do not so much damage. Using cavalry to intercept cannons is always a good idea, but try not to suicide your cavalry. If your opponent defends his artillery with his cavalry, then again, dont engage with your cavalry unless you can win.

@@colourfit how about distracting enemy cavalry with melee supported by muskets and a flanking cavalry charge towards their cannons? It could potentially sorround the enemy and you can flank enemy melee as well when ur dont with their ranged. The only problem is if the enemy is sending reinforcements, i cant find a way to deal with that

@@NorthernEHonestly, if you are confident with how you manage your units, you can do all of these tactics. Fundamentally, engage if you can win, and retreat if you cannot to find an advantage elsewhere. It is not productive to plan specific strategies for specific situations, since there are too many to count. Focus on getting the advantage in every situation you counter

ctrl+s will stop all units selected, make sure you are not pressing this by accident, or try and rebind it in the options

The oddness is how the units are RTS and can shoot through their screens backs. Flanking would matter much more if your front line weren’t bullet tunnels.

@@TheMinh92 In late game you should not make 17th pikes, so if you want melee units in 18th, some 18th pikes are nice. you don't need to upgrade them just use them as fodder. Meanwhile you can use 18th musketeers with 17th musketeers just fine, they should be the bulk of your force. 18th grens are good for blowing up buildings mainly but are acceptable as a military unit

Artillery? The more clustered up you are the worse. Artillery seems to be the deciding factor in late game battles.

But how do you deal with cannons?

One day I want to make a separate tutorial for this. But to deal with cannons you want a few things. 1) Your own cannons. 2) Spread out your formations 3) Calvary to capture their cannons if they get too far from infantry or are alone. If you're enemy only has a few cannons, consider attacking because that means he has invested resources into them, and they aren't ready yet to do much damage.

@@wertin200 I havent made that video no :( but in a nutshell you use your artillery to control space, and prevent your opponent from being in a good position to engage you. I.e you force them to spread out.

I want a tips n leak from campaign, where location of advantages where disadvantages where treasure chest what opt are best result in your campaign what unit early on should rush early on or turtling should do economic research ignore others or a campaign is heavily raid unsafe surrounding or a campaign that you can just freely expand up to specific area where AI starts appearing etc etc a complete guide from little brick mistakes fixer perfectionists Impossibruh difficult only "guide" I can say ye I need dis, I just plei 8-10d ago and 100% Impossibruh however I don't cheat only for like 7 missions the rest 28-34 mission are cheated coz I jus passing by, need walkthrough

I'm guessing you've had a bad experience with them :D

in my experience having pikes at mid stages of the game is only good for protecting your musketeers from cavalry. You get a much stronger army from simply massing musketeers and cavalry. Rather than those slow moving garbage pikes. Also you mention compressing your army. I would love to play against a guy doing that. See how he likes my cannons after he compresses his men... Clearly this video is assuming cannons are banned...

You are wrong. Pikes in the mid-game (10-20 minutes) Can be very effective versus musketeers, depending on the situation, and are most certainly viable. In combination with grenadiers or dragoons, musketeers typically are not able to kill pikes like this without dragoons. Also, since pikes are cheaper to make upgrades for, you can be superior to your opponent in cav production and quality, and even later on with a superior economy and 18th century. So, I think pikes have a good place in early and mid game. On the topic of compression, even with cannons on, there are many opportunities to implement this tactic. In the early and mid game, where cannons are not in large enough quantities, they can be used and 2-3 cannons can be ignored as damage caused by the cannons is outweighed by the increased performance of the units. In the late game, where more cannons are available and on the field, The army sizes are typically so large that compression on a large scale has such a large benefit, that even 10-15 cannons cannot warrant the rejection of this tactic. Compress right before battle and charge, even through cannons, and you will still win vs an uncompressed player, especially if you arent too compressed, and just enough to have a substantial advantage over your opponent. Cannons on your side, and Calvary also which are less vulnerable to cannons can also help to change the tide of the battle in your favour. To conclude, I believe you are wrong and you are welcome to reply about why you think Im wrong so I can resolve this

Hmmm, might be that i am just better at upgrading my muskets than my mates are at upping their pikes then. About the canons, 3 canons will atleast shoot 3 or 4 times in a fight like the one you showcased. Not sure of the impact, but maybe you could include it in your guide to show people like me whether going for those early canons are worth it or not. i usually have 5 canons as early as possible because i like to take cheap shots at idle armies ;) I suppose you are right tho.

there are more realistic games you can play, this isn't about full immersion. Try total war and other games like that
