I’m new to costume making. This was very helpful, but I have more questions. Where do you get the fur? How do you determine the size and shape of the fur templates? Sorry if these are obvious questions, I’ve never done something like this before.

Hi now worries we all had to start some where. The fur I get from eBay or Amazon, For the template shape I just followed the natural lines of the shoe, also I laid the fur on the shoe to see where cuts and seams will needed to be made, for the templates keeping it all to a minimum. If your unsure on your size and shape etc, make a practice one first out of some ware fabric, if you have any, before hacking to it your fur. Hope this helps. It was all trial and error for me, take your time, do not be scared to make mistakes and also take notes. 👍👍

I'm considering getting a pair of wedges so that the fill in with resin is not necessary, just cuz I've never worked with resin before

This actually is quite helpful! I have some questions though: Is it possible to do this with a removal of the heel?

What is the yellow tool called? What is the filler that you used in the foam between the heel and the shoe base?

How do we pour the resin? Can you please link a list of the materials you used? My teen is starting out making hooves and buying as close to the exact materials used is really helpful! I love this video, keeping the heel on will give my teen the support she needs....I haven't found a tutorial yet with keeping the heel on with also keeping the "look" of walking on the toes. Thanks!

hi. not sure if you’re still looking, but if it helps there are shoes that are basically ‘heelless heels’ that i often see online. it’s like a wedge but it swoops inward & then curves back outward (for support & balance) in somewhat of a ‘C’ shape. hard to explain but i hope that makes enough sense. also, there are digitigrade stilts. i haven’t got any idea what those would cost, but they literally make your legs look like that of a quadruped, with the ‘walking-on-toes’ aesthetic.

Does it matter the shoe size?

It’s best to use a size higher than your usual size just because it can be quite tight and structured 👍

You basically made (shitty) wedge shoes, might as well start with wedges.
