@@nickgreen4731 I think the meaning is that sometimes people don't need to explore the world or make some big stuff to be happy. Sometimes you just live your own life, small and unnoticed, and are still happy with it. Nothing to change. People are convinced that to be happy they need to do big things, and "if they were able to, they would do it", but actually you just sometimes don't need to be able, to be better, you just enjoy what you have and are satisfied with it and don't need to prove anything to the world. Well it's just my interpretation 😅

it makes me think of a very short little knight who is incredibly resistant, but after one mission with the king he basically is like “nah i think i’ll stay home”

It's as bizarre as Tally Hall with a folk twang to it, which is probably why so many of us love it!! I'm one of the many who likes folk music, but also bizarre bands like Tally Hall and such

a few years ago i got bored and didnt want to play anything with my brothers, so when they asked me what animal i wanted to be (for a game) i immediately said "tardigrade". its been an inside joke ever since, i have a tardigrade shirt and a small box of tardigrade mints. my mom just sent me this song and it is. its perfection. for me when i become a tardigrade im all lazy, and this song perfectly captures how cool tardigrades are and why id like to be one-

I had the itch to look Cosmo up on wikipedia. After seeing his dad's and brother's professions, his music all became more clear. I know a father and brother doesn't define someone, but it certainly does leave some influence.

Thought tardigrades were birds. Imagine my surprise when I saw a microscopic thingie that's on the moon now! Very cool

I've just heard this song in a programme about tardigrades on BBC Radio 4. I'm being educated in many ways! Fascinating creatures.

Honestly, this song is like me with my mental health. I can survive a lot of pressure and fire, but only by shutting down like a tardigrade, so I prefer to avoid those situations so I can actually live my life.

song tdlr; There are two characters in this song, The Human, & our little friend, The Tardigrade. The human wants to be a tardigrade so he can be invincible, but the actual tardigrade just wants to stop being exposed to the vacuum of space

this song honestly does describe tardigrades quite well

I know full well that this song is about a gross micro animal, however, I love this song not only for the melody, but for a more personal reason. As a kid, I used to have this rabbit toy. If you pulled down on its feet, it would play music! It used to comfort me a lot as a kid, and I still have it to this day! When I heard this song for the first time, I burst into tears, because the "la la" bits of the song sound eerily similar to the rabbit toy. Even the music accompaniment. I even played the song for my dad. He agreed, and also cried. Sorry for the paragraph, but, uh, I just thought I'd share that. This song slaps regardless though

Today I feel like posting my interpretation of this song, so there we go. It's about a person that wishes they were stronger to resist the hardships of life (like a tardigrade, that are famous for being practically unkillable, kinda) but then looks back at all the things they have gone through and survived, concluding they are already strong as a tardigrade and would not trade their life and experiences for anything because it's what has allowed them to be in the position they are right now, and is contempt with that.

Tah Lia if it helps any this song could either be about how people are greedy and search for more than they need, you never know what you can do unless you push yourself through hardships, or some of the coolest things ever.

Cosmo has this tune and vibe that you instantly know it's them. I don't know how.

i really love this song, considering tardigrades are literally immortal. when he says "if i shed all my liquid and let myself dry out i'll shrivel and shrink for some 15 odd years" there was a space ship that crashed with live tardigrades in it, and they could possibly still be alive. when someone conducted an experiment with a tardigrade replicating the moons low pressure. the tardigrades actually curled up and stop moving. "id wake up come water and get on with living" now, amazingly when he rose the pressure again the tardigrades just began to move and wriggle as if nothing had happened "i can live life in vaccuums for years with no drink" once again, tardigrades dont need water. and in the experiment seen above, the tardigrades pressure was actually modified using a vaccuum. i just think thats cool

**inhale** SO- IMAGINE THIS- A little woodland faerie, with a mushroom hat and dress, dancing in the evening. Her cottage has a warm fire, and she sits in front of it with her socks and a glass of whiskey. Nothing can hurt her, nothing worries her. She enjoys her small life, wanting nothing more than to frolick in the woods and bushes. She sings a sweet, yet haunting tune.

Cosmo Sheldrake's music give me the feeling of going fishing with my dad or grandfather (he named his boat after me 😌), sometimes my brother or cousins. Depending on the time of the year we'd go to this place with very clear water where you could see the fish biting the line and sometimes we'd even see sharks, other times we'd go stand on this massive wall by the harbour. I remember being a young child and seeing a man catch like fifty fish and they were all on the land flopping around my his feet. Said it was for his cat.

That tardigrade really said “bring me a shrubbery”...

This sounds like a sea shanty from another world

Turns out after months of listening to this song I just found out a tardigrade is a water bear, not someone who is tardy, now it makes a lot of sense

sure, you're resilient, can survive the harshest and worst environments, always come up on top and nothing can truly hurt you. you can achieve greatness. but why by all goodness would you want to do all that unpleasantness if you're just fine and comfy with what you have?

the mainly instrumental bits, such as 3:35, just make me so happy. It sounds so mystical, but also silly, and reminds me of wind chimes and bird feeders. It makes me feel like I’m going to go float up on a cloud, greet a dragon, then go nap in a mushroom hut I paid for with patterned seashells.

This song feels like a dude who is experiencing the feeling of wasted potential. He could do more. He knows he could become what ever he wants but he stays home fully aware that he could survive the hardships

The way he sings in this song just feels so bubbly and alive

I have terrible anxiety and overstimulation. I get overwhelmed very easily. Your music, and especially this song, has helped me self regulate immensely. The lyrics are whimsical but the melody is very orderly and precise. It helps me have a sense of control again. I'm not even sure you intended to make something calming, but I'm thankful from the bottom of my heart.

Tardigrades are ace. I'm sleeping after night shift on law enforcement in a tardigrade tshirt. Secure in the knowledge there are a million tardigrades in my rain gutters just 5 feet away. I love the little guys!
