I disagree about the personality section, vasher has a lot deeper personality than adolin, he just doesn't express it, he essentially has kaladin's "all my friends keep dying" problem but magnified times a hundred. It's not just that he survives instead of them, he outlives them and even kills multiple himself he had to kill shashara, his own wife, and as a result all of his friends tried to kill him for revenge, So he had to kill them as well. He is so scared of being attached to anyone that he pushed away vivenna and nightblood(okay nightblood might be justified) he has lived so long and with so many names that I doubt his sense of self is really whole. He started and ended the biggest war on nalthis, he killed and saved countless people, how can he even know if he is good or evil?

I would also add that it makes sense for Vasher to not change as much as Adolin does. Adolin is..... early to mid 20s at the start of the stormlight archives. He is a young man learning to be who he really is. Vasher is several centuries old and has probably become pretty set in his ways by now. It makes sense that he would not change as much between stories. Also just on Vasher, he IS a shapeshifter in a sense. He looks the way he thinks he should. Therefore his appearance is an even stronger indication of his personality than most characters.

Adolin is best boi second only to Taln. But that isn’t a fair comparison.

Crack theory: Shardblades would disable Awakened objects because they cut through the soul. Also Awakened objects are not significantly stronger than a human, while shardplate makes its wielder much, much stronger. Now, Vasher still takes the dub because of his superior skill and his versatility via Awakening.

Both are great characters, I prefer Vasher tho. And he would definitely win in a fight. And Vasher doesn't have much to offer in many of the categories because he is an already defined and developed character and doesn't go through that much growth, he's already done it all we just haven't seen it.

I think Vasher should have had more credit in the personality, maybe not beating Adolin but there’s more to him. I like how he is a grumpy man with anger issues who tries to make peace but ultimately has to fight because of said issues and inability to talk well to others. Except when he becomes a scholar again and we see who he used to be.

I predict vasher but I've only read way of kings so far so I'll reply after I've watched the video and caught up. Depends on where they are and what equipment they have

Ok so where all this new information about Vasher comes from like his past, I read Warbreaker just now and then Stormlight archive series. Just to know where I can look it up

Can’t remember exactly but have Zahel and wit interacted? And I was thinking that Vasher is so old could he possibly be one of the Heralds? I’ve been reading other series lately so maybe I’m forgetting.

I don't actually think that Vasher is more skilled than Adolin as such. Adolin probably has more raw talent and natural ability. Vasher is noted by his comrades to not be the best duellist among them suggesting it is not his strongest suit. No slouch to be sure but not a prodigy. What he has though is experience. He has seen and done enough that he would be one of the trickiest characters to fight. Personally I would love to give him Allomancy and see him let loose with that fighting style.

He wasn’t the best then but some time has passed and he’s become the best sword trainer on Roshar so it’s possible he improved. However skill with a sword isn’t his best skill it’s how clever he is, like what he did to Denth. Adolin would probably lose if he used awakening and with Nightblood it’s no contest.
