We sing a song at church “I’ll say yes Lord yes”….there’s a part that says “with my whole heart I’ll agree” - it’s exactly the same tune…love how Cory just keeps going up each key adding his own style and embellishments - brilliant 🙌🏾..

Simply iMovie! And MuseScore to notate.
Wow, I mean... WOW!! (Btw, I think in measure 100, A should be A#, at least for right hand; min 2:18)
Great transcription, but technically the key centers should be G/Ab/A/Bb respectively. The chord progression starts on the IV chord, not the one.

Thanks! I knew something was strange but couldn't figure it out! Although, the keys are the relative minors, so Em -> Fm -> F#m -> Gm

@timothy gondola hey question did you mess up the key signature after the second key change isn't it suppose to be in the key of A and not D???
God you are good at transcribing, do you do it by ear quickly? Or do you play it at the piano at the same time?
@TimothyGondola

Thank you~ it depends, sometimes I can catch it without touching the piano but other times I need to figure out the notes on my piano first.
meausures 1-13 sound like that one christmas song and as a jazz musician it pains me to say that

You can definitely tell from this homie grew up in church lmao
I was following the music... "he modulated from G to Db!!!!!!??????" "This guy's a genius!" "I didn't even hear the jump" LOL... dumb me not realizing it was an error at first
I think this change is G→Ab→A→Bb.

What is the melody in the begging?
Thanks for transcribing this! Honestly though, that Ebo spelling kills me in the context of a scale with sharps.

@@TimothyGondola hey, happy Thanksgiving man! I appreciate the work you put in.
Where does this melody come from?
Those Eb diminished chords should be notated as B7b9/D# - since that's how they function. Eb dim. is an enharmonic misspelling. Great transcription otherwise - as usual!
@MooPotPie

@@nezkeys79 I'm speaking in terms of functionality. B7 is the V of iii in C major - and that's how Henry is using it - in a rootless jazz voicing. Agree to disagree.
@alextripp406

@@MooPotPie You're not wrong but calling it D# dim7 and treating it as the viiº7 / iii is an equally legitimate functional analysis.

@@nezkeys79 Spelling matters. Enharmonic spelling confuses function.
@MooPotPie
3 жыл бұрын
@@alextripp406 I'm not calling it a D# anything. I'm calling it a B7b9 in a rootless voicing with the 3rd on the bottom. It functions as the V7 of iii, not as the viiº7. The functional leading tone is D#, not B.
@alextripp406
3 жыл бұрын
@@MooPotPie I mean we are being pedantic at this point, but it literally does function as the viiº7, which is a secondary dominant function! A diminished 7th chord built off of the leading tone has been used as a functional dominant for centuries of western harmony, thus it's unnecessary to think of it as an inverted rootless b9. How would you analyze the second chord of Ain't Misbehavin'?
I can see where Ichika Nito get’s inspiration from! Sounds like «I miss you» in some places!
