Yo can’t count how many times I’ve watched this video but definitely one of my favorites. The fact that Cory is a monster on keys. The horn section looking in disbelief. 🎹🎹🎹
Cory Henry: "I won't just slay on these keys. I will also protect this shot glass from falling... as a mild challenge"
Herbie feel & inspiration here... Wow!
The bass player killed that
Bass player is killing it.
I can’t believe these guys played at The Camel (small bar in Richmond) in 2013 AND I MISSED IT! 😢

Cory is amazing as always but can anybody pay some respect for that bassist, like damn
this is one of my fav keys solos ever!
2:25 He just rescued a glass while grooving so hard. Damn
Holly Lord jesus Christ what a level Corey Henry....!!! What a groove this band
Does everyone who jams with Corey give him the Shaun Martin Lingus jump hug at the end? I would!
4:47 The notorious "Shaun Martin hug-jump" at the end of the Lingus solo 😆

I had so much respect for how he took the time to warm up and catch the groove and get comfortable
bass is good as well
Yoooo that was raw! Seen many of his but not that 1. Then he saves the shot glass and the trumpet cats was lookin like wtf are you playing right now??

My favorite part lmao
the situational awareness of the glass while playing the dam piano, this guy.. WHEWW
2:06 he does the thing where he looks at michael when he played with snarky puppy, so the bass follows the chromatic runs, the bassist in here is problably like "wtf u looking like that at me for" hahahahaha
Simply beautiful
Everybody reckons she cut him off.... I mean he could've kept going? But he didn't... he was called up out of the blue, nailed it and did his thing. Pleanty of instances where backing vox are sung during a solo.
My goodness, what an amazing guy... The functions he plays and his felling are just out of this world
I hear some Herbie Hancock in this approach 🤔🙆🏽♂️🔥

Standing on the Top by the Temptations and Rick James! I love it when my group does this song. Funky!
my old homey Steven Thurston on synth bass !!! sick
Cory is the Goat!🎹
Enriching solo. What a genius.

Learn bebop. That will give you the fundamentals on how the sound of modern jazz works. Then from there experiment with playing with different key centers to get that “out” sound.

2:45 What a dancing man
They really wasnt familiar with Corey.. when he started sustaining chords with the left, they should've just let em have it for a few measures.. there's no telling where that jam would've ended up

I would love for them to take a brain scan of Corey while he plays so we could see the wave pattern. Most people have lines that go up and down, his shit probably looks like those ink cards psychiatrist use in sessions.
