When the current owner of a C7 ZR1 is amazed at the acceleration prowess of a C6 ZR1 saying " Ooooooooh this car is fast and it pulls like a freight train" gives much respect/street cred for the LS9.

oh dooood my dashboard center plate thing was the same way when i got it, it's just popped out on the left side. Dislodge the entire thing and pop that side in first.

What made you decide to get the year you did? Have you had any issues since owning the car other than regular maintenance? Great looking ride man. Its still a vehicle worth having!

I had the mind-set that the second year would have some sort of an improvement. 2010 was the start of PTM and it change the cars dynamic. Plus they had some rebates on it lol. No issues with it yet. The LS9 is an impressive engine. You're right it's worth every penny.

i'm not an american, i'm british, but this is my favorite car EVER, there's something about an american v8 that is so much more appealing than an italian v8 and would take a corvette over a ferrari any day, we can get these cars in the uk ( imported ), but driving them in america is more traditional, and the c6 zr1 is the only VETTE i'd have

Was I the one that said if you add up both Corvettes they probably cost more than your house....? Real estate in NY is bittersweet...If your looking anywhere in the 5 boroughs you better have mucho cash....Minimum down payment would be the price of a new ZR1....

The C6 ZR1 is my choice based on the exhaust note. The 6.2 exhaust note is sweeter.

amax1001 really over the 7.0 ls7 that thing sounds mean , but I was asking Bc I want to buy a zo6 in a few months I’m 20 and have good job make abt 40-50 k yr depending on how much ot i do & I want the zr1 for the prestige and power but then I ask myself if it’s really worth it for the price given it’s abt 20k more depending on a lot of variable but the zo6 can beat a zr1 w 10 k upgrades like a cam intake etc so I’m kind of in a dilemma I would also have to save abit more money for the zr1 and wait abit. What do u think ?

Same here I bought my first corvette at 18, but it was a '96 LT1 auto. Then I got a 2003 Z06, and that was my dream car believe it or not lol. Well don't get my wrong I do like the C6 Z06. To me it was my first supercar, and I enjoyed it. I had to trade it in back in 2012 for a family vehicle lol. In recent years I've heard about the drop valve issue the 7.0L are having, but Im not sure if it affects all engines. If you are thinking about a Z06 get a 2011 or higher, and the reasons for that are because they started using the same exhaust and air intake as the ZR1. I'm sure it gave them a horsepower boost, but corvette didn't want people to know. So, if I were you and it's possible; I would lesson to a 2006 - 2010 Z06 exhaust and then a 2011 - 2013. Also the 2007 has updated stocks from the 2006, and the 2006-2007 are lighter than the later years.

amax1001 haha that’s pretty cool Vettes all the way haha , & ya I didn’t know that about the exhausts but I did notice it when I would see vids on both years the exhaust sounds way better on the 2011 models and up & abt the valve issue I looked into that on forums and KZread but it’s not big deal I would just get all that changed as soon as I would get that car to avoid that issue but thanks for the reply I’ll probably know fursure once I’m actually ready to buy.

Ahhh, you're kill'n me with this. I think I need to unsubscribe. lol You're out burn'n up the roads and I'm up here in the Ice Box of NJ still with a snow shovel by each entry door to the house and my snow blower still at the ready. lol Do you notice how the the ZR1 will kinda nudge you to the right under power? It's the torgue at work and can be a bit scary if you're not ready for it. I'm guessing you still like/appreciate quiet mode until the flaps open as determined by computer, but I'd really be tempted to have a mild-to-wild switch for it. An easy do and undo in that I know you like stock, but I'm sure you won't be selling it, so I think a tasteful mod would appropriate. Save the Wave.
