Cort X500 Menace | Review | Guitar Interactive

Музыка

X500 is born again with a modern aesthetic and feature upgrades to become the new darker and aggressive X500 Menace, making it highly suitable for metal and extreme music guitarists. While maintaining the neck-thru-body construction for exceptional sustain and high frets access, the X500 Menace now features a more popular maple top on mahogany body combination, reverse headstock, 7-piece Maple / Purple Heart / Panga Panga neck and compound radius fingerboard. Nick Jennison tells us more.

The best rCort X500 Manace' s review ever. You have revealed all features from kinds of clean sound, which sounds great to my ear, to heavily high gain tones from those Seymour Duncan PUs Great job, mate 👍

Amazing guitar for the money, you would have to do nothing to this guitar it has everything I would upgrade a less spec guitar for. I can not find another guitar below 700€/$ with a Floyd Rose 1000 except a Harley Benton Fusion but that guitar has crappy pickups and not an amazing neck through body design like this one that makes for great playability and great sustain. Once you try a neck through body like this one you kinda want all your guitars to have it, at least that is how I felt once I started playing guitars with neck through. But neck through guitars are often much more expensive especially with the parts that is on this guitar you have to look at guitars double the price. If I were to change anything, it would be to change the bridge pickup to a more versatile one, like the Seymour Duncan Pegasus. If I would have a complaint against this guitar it would be that I think it should have dot inlays to show you were on the neck you are playing, some cool dot inlay on the fretboard that adds to the style of the guitar like PRS have their birds, Ibanez JEM the gowing flower vine and Ibanez has their lightning inlays. Would have been cool with something on the Cort. It is really nitpicking or more of a personal preference thing though because there is really nothing to fault this guitar for. It seems to have dot inlays at the top side of the neck anyways so that Is the most important thing I guess, I really hope that they are those dots that kinda glows in the dark, that would be great when I take this thing to a darker live setting.

That looks like an RGA Series of Ibanez. Maybe it's due to Cort produces Ibanez guitars too.

Yeah I have heard from several sources that these are being built in a factory in Indonesia where Cort helps to build some Solar and Ibanez premium guitars, I think you can kind of tell just by looking at this guitar like you mentioned. It does not get better than this for the money. If you can just live with the fact that it says Cort on the headstock you can get a very premium guitar for half the price as an Ibanez with same spec would cost. Just look at the Ibanez Ibanez RGRT421 that is the cheapest neck through Ibanez, it comes with "crappy" Ibanez pickups and no tremolo, not even locking tuners and not as nice material in the neck and body as this Cort. At double the price of this Cort you get the RGRTB621, then you start to see better pickups and better wood in the body and neck but still no nice bridge. When you go up to 2000$/€ you start seeing Ibanez (RGT1220PB-ABS) with the same spec, maybe a bit nicer even but then we are closing in on third times the money 🤣

@@mathias6423 Ibanez is a HUGE brand around the world. Vai has been increased their "value". Any HUGE brands out there will always give us more expensive price but with decent specs or quality. They just sells their signature tone and their "NAME". It's more likes selling intelectual property. So yea... there are always better instruments with more affordable price nowadays due to modern technology.

This guitar ships with 9 gauge strings. Do you suppose the neck will bend if you put on 10 gauge?

If you change the tension of the strings, the neck might move. But, then you adjust the truss rod, and make it straight again if needed

@@pritampaul9451 It's not some factual statement that needs to be backed up by research. The point is that it's boring, not who copied whom. Thanks for the correction, though.
