Hello! New Subscriber here! I just received by first Corset Story order and am so happy I found your channel when I was searching for Unboxing Videos! Sorry to hear you got the flu, hope you're feeling better! I took a whole lotta notes as I watched, so this will be a long comment :) Also, I started with just numbering my comments, then came back and added a few time stamps, but that became really tedious so please forgive the weird numbering of comments! 🙃 3:17 I LOVE the history lesson and the photos of various ways to style corsets! Thank you! 11:22 I used an Exacto knife to open my box...much easier than scissors! :) 4. I haven't used an iron in years! You may want to consider purchasing an industrial Steamer, or a handheld steamer. I also must confess that I do avoid fabrics that wrinkle easily. I use the steamer when I have to. 5. How do you use a t-shirt as a buffer without it showing? You look fabulous! Where did you tuck the t-shirt sleeves? Could you do a quick video on that, or describe it in a reply please? 🙏 6. I do like the look of the corset over the skirt! 7. The all-black look is the best! :) 8 I LOVE the styling of the size 2 over bust tan corset! ❤ 9. I see what you mean about the black leather coat with the polka dots. I think it's the bulk around your neck. Do you have a duster without shoulder pads, or a shrug? I purchased corsets without sleeves, so I can easily add a shrug, duster, or my fave sheer black bat-wing long shruggy thingy with beading (I thrifted it so I don't have a retailer's description). 10. I haven't researched the lacing rules either, but they look great to me! :) 11. Ways to fill the emptiness around the throat could be a scarf, or hat with a scarf like the model inset you added. 12. I LOVE the polka dots with the skirt too! 13. Thank you for the warning about the longline corsets for short-waisted gals (like me!). 13. Love the last look as well! 14. I think you mentioned at one point having trouble with the front fasteners. I did too! I finally ended up just opening up the lacing as far as they would go, fastening the front, then putting it on over my head already fastened. It took a bit of fiddling with the laces to get them all to tighten (at first the top areas stayed loose and drooped) but it worked! 15. I think my favorite is the polka dots! I didn't purchase any with sleeves so that I'd have an easier time adding slim fitting shrugs. My favorite purchase of mine is the Black and Cream Damask Print Halter Corset. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos, thank you! ❤

Hello Lynn! Thanks so much for reaching out and all the wonderful things you said! I am pleased to note that I’m no longer sick with the flu and feeling much better. :) Yeah, I didn’t know what I was getting into when I ordered all cotton corsets. It would have been fine if they hadn’t had sleeves as the boning in the main bodice portions kept that part from wrinkling. The sleeves definitely wrinkle though. I want to get a steamer in the future for sure. Thanks for the suggestion! I own a lot of cotton garments and have been just throwing them in my dryer on steam refresh to avoid using my iron. I unfortunately can’t throw steel boned corsets in the dryer lol. For layering the shirt underneath I used a spaghetti strap undershirt and tucked the straps down inside the corset so it was basically like wearing a tube top underneath. Sorry if I called it a T-shirt in the video. I might have incorrectly described it. I want to do a corset styling video soon, so I’ll show how I wear and hide the undershirt beneath the corset. I’m so glad you loved my styling of the size 2 over bust tan corset! I wasn’t sure about that one and I think it’s because I’m still getting used to layering. Thanks for all the styling ideas for layering over the polka dot corset. I’ll need to go digging through my closet but I’m pretty sure I have some scarves and cardigans that would look nice so I’m looking forward to trying that in my next corset styling video. With fastening the corsets, I struggled for sure. I didn’t try pulling it over my head already fastened but maybe I should. I did figure out that it’s easier to fasten the middle of the corset and then the rest of the fasteners kinda just clip into place. I looked up the Black and Cream Damask Print Halter Corset and it’s so pretty! You made a smart decision to buy ones that don’t have sleeves for ease of styling and layering. I wish I had taken that into account when I made my purchases. I like the corsets with sleeves but if I buy from Corset Story again, I’ll try and get ones that don’t have sleeves for the reasons listed above. I may try to see if I can tuck the sleeves inside my corsets without it looking weird. Thanks again for all the wonderful styling tips and ideas. And thank you for subscribing! I greatly appreciate you and the time you’ve taken to share your thoughts! ☺

@@ellenmarie9369 Thanks for your prompt reply, and I'm so glad you're feeling better! LOL as I was going to sleep last night and reviewing the day as one does, I kept obsessing over the T-shirt...how did she get her arms through the neck hole? Where did she hide the sleeves? I realized tube tops would be perfect and regretted purging them from my wardrobe a while back because I just can't wear them on their own. The answer all along was spaghetti straps! (Don't worry, I did fall asleep eventually so just in case you're someone who empathetically takes responsibility for things that are absolutely not your responsibility, you are in no way responsible for that conundrum in my head last night. I just thought it was funny and wanted to mention it. :) :) I'm really looking forward to your future corset styling videos! I think you can probably tuck in the sleeves for a different look and ease of wearing shrugs, etc. Do let us know how that goes! I may purchase some with sleeves if they are "optional" in terms of being able to tuck them under. Some of my corsets have a lovely hook to secure the clasps (you can search on the website for "Corsets with hooks," I got the Blue With Gold Brocade and the Black With Gold Brocade, and I must say it's so much easier to fasten them since they have a hook that keeps each clasp closed while you struggle with the others!!! I swear I tried starting with the top, the bottom, the middle with the regular clasps and just had to give up and fasten them before pulling them over my head. I'm so glad you were able to figure it out...please include your technique in your future styling videos! As for your styling of the tan corset, I tend to be "monochromatic" (I had to look it up, but it's a one-word way to say my outfits tend to just all be one color) but I've learned to layer with a variety of colors, patterns, and textures. I just love the way you styled the tan corset, and I hope you enjoy continuing your journey outside your comfort zone! Looking forward to coming along for the ride! ❤

@@lfmccune Your welcome! I looked up the corsets you mentioned. They are so pretty! And I see what you mean by the hooks being easier closure than the standard clasps. I want to sew a corset in the future so maybe I should look into buying the hook hardware if I end up making a front closure corset. I’ll be sure to share how I clip my corsets shut in my next styling video. :) I like monochrome looks too but am also very often drawn to bright colors and patterns so I think I have difficulty figuring out how to find balance between the two. It makes things interesting for sure. I’m so glad you liked my styling of the tan corset. Now I’m motivated to wear that outfit out of the house.☺
