Did you use any wood preservative for the ground part? I’m building something like this. But shaving the pine logs

I really like the look of the rails. It looks like it belongs out on the range. But,very sturdy And economical. The cows don't care how it looks. ÷)

Really enjoyed this wee video! We run a Bud Box also and wouldn’t go to a tub over one! Love the simplicity and affordability of the Bud Box and the cattle far prefer it over any sweeptub. Great videos by the way! Just discovered your channel and really like it! God Bless

We are getting ready to build a bull pen and put a bud box in there too, since they work so well. Thank you, God Bless you too.

Where did you get those latches! You can slide a pipe across the rails to prevent backing up in the chute - strap some 2x4s vertically where you need them

We got them at AgWest. We do that with skinny juniper logs. One design flaw, so far is making the middle of the chute a solid wall, right where they stop and we need to put a pole in to keep them from backing up. We need to cut a hole that a pole will fit through. It still works decent though. We've been working on the rest of it and it's almost done. It looks really rustic.

So how did the corral build finish?

Every thing is perfect, except we didn't make enough room for the calf head poking out, when they are in the table. So, we had to put it at an angle and the person giving injections has to watch their heads. Rookie mistake lol.

I tried to make one real fast. I don't know how much it will help you. We dug holes 2 feet deep and cut the posts 10 feet long. That way they are buried 2 feet and 8 feet high to keep the cows from trying to jump out. We used 8 inch long screws to attach the posts. As the wood dries you might have to screw them down tighter, because it shrinks.

Also if your cows are gentle, you do not have to use metal gates. Ours never push on them or have tried to jump out.
